I get that. Really I do. But the great palace in Grahtwood is pleasing to look at and pass through, while still being everything you just said.

Yeah, but that's the palace, that's the point I think. The only bigger/taller houses are palaces, temples and community buildings, it seems. It might be possible that shape and height of the dwelling also reflects status.

I guess before eso I just pictured wood elves living inside the trunks of redwood type trees, something grander, just a touch more elevated, the onion pod homes were a bit of a let down.

They could have made wood elf homes have a more pleasant appeal.

Anyway high elf, khajiit, Dunmer, etc. All progressed into better looking buildings in their chapters/dlcs. Even argonians got two cool looking player homes, Bosmers need help on all fronts.

I can't seem to find the interview where Matt Firor, or someone, mentioned this but ZOS did say they want to do deep dives on each race (AKA each race getting a chapter) before revisiting anywhere but who knows if that stays true now. If it does it means this year's chapter will be either Bosmer or Redguard.

I chose Redguard because although Bosmer's stealth got stolen and let's be honest the Warden classes Animal Companions spells should have been Bosmer based not Dunmer-based, Redguards seemed to need more. Keep in mind that all of Valenwood is in the game already and even with Falinesti, I would still love a story around it and see the Imga finally, does have a return date in TES lore (2E 830ish)... so I picked Redguard because they have no deep dive, a lot of Hammerfell remains, their passives aren't anything special, and I'd love to see a follow up to what Sai Sahan finally did during Elsweyr.

Since we're getting Necrom does that mean there is no hope for Bosmer/Redguards this year?

Never tried that race myself. When I gave stealthy playstyle a run, Bosmer were already nerfed so I made a Khajit instead.

Redguard, they haven't had new content in yeaaars.

Also Bosmer as a second, but they have literally 0 new zones they can have soo...

    Hard to say

Bosmer and redguard got their entire territory already covered in base game leaving little beside Yokuda for redguard to explore

    Bosmer obligatory stealth mention

Argonian still got room to add content but I am still disliking the "4 piece set bonus" passive tied to potion which need to have an entire build focused on pot cooldown reduction to really make anything out of it while other race have it as a permanently active buff with at worst a few seconds of cooldown

So we get a passive only usable every 45s by default and is more of a "oh crap" moment escape card than anything truly impactfull

I can also shove redguards passive reducing snare potency on this with how little impact it ever archieve, but at least they get 8% off stam skill cost so its still better than the pot passive

Bosmers and redguards are the two races that got the least content and attention.

I'd vote for bosmer because they are one of my favourites. They are just lacking in everything, and having all of Valenwood done in the base game is more a con than a pros. There's so many issues about it. One big one is the portayal of Valenwood itself. It can barely be called a forest, less so a jungle at its most ancient and primal!
Few houses, mounts (there's a single 1) few motifs (2), few characters who are not comic relief, few furniture which also look bad and does not show bosmer's supposedly excellent and inventive craftsmanship at all. Reachmen does more elaborate things! Compare the furniture to their costumes with lovely "pearl" work etc like the two Threethane ones. It's all just lacking.

Although, at the same time I dread a bosmer themed chapter, because of how they made Blackwood and High Isle. Blackwood gave nothing to argonians and imperials, to the latter it even took things away. It's all about daedra and Dagon. The imperials and argonians are just there as some decoration.
Then High Isle, the legacy of Bretons that was going to add content and lore to the Bretons who needed it...then gave almost zilch.
So I'd fear it would be the same with bosmer. Instead of keeping lore in focus and portraying them well, fleshing out what we already have. There would be more cringy writing, comic relief, and instead of showing us bosmer, they would show some generic DnD wood elves that are not bosmer. That's what happened to the latest "bosmer" costume we got.

Other than bosmer, I think the ones that deserve some love and content are:
Bosmer>redguards> then argonians, orcs, and imperials on a shared spot.

Redguards because they are almost as missing content as bosmer. Argonians and orcs because they didn't have much before ESO and then they got 1 dlc. They were good ones, but still they could have a little more. Imperials because despite "having Cyrodiilic zones" and appearing in many places, they aren't in focus. There isn't much added to themm they are just...there. Being some weird generic medieval Breton-ish thing. The Nibenese was pretty much nonexistent in Blackwood for example.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

Bosmer (with Redguard a very close second). Nothing for either of them since the base game, as others have pointed out.

Dunmer are getting a second expansion with Necrom. While I love Dark Elves and their lore, after Necrom I don't want to see more content focused on them until the above two races have received some much needed love.
