Hear ye, hear ye, stop this dialogue please

I wish I could opt out of listening to this Npc every time I log in to craft on every character. It truly tests my wits and courage to hear her jabber on about a brand new card game every 6 minutes. I came to Tamriel to craft, build and have adventures- not really interested in cards.
Could we have an option to politely decline and not have to listen to her advertisement anymore? It’s as bad as “Dragons!! In your own home world?”
I did try out the game on one of my characters so the Npc also changed her dialogue. Unfortunately, she sounds super sad to have found me, “ There you are….you ran off so quickly”.
Yep, not a fan of this lol.
At least there are a million other things in Tamriel I do love 💕

Cool. Might one of those also spawn a strangler that grabs onto and prevents certain NPCs from running around on your heels? (such as Raynor Vanos around Taarengrav in the Rift.)

I'm not easily bothered by npcs but Sorinne and her advertising cuts through me every time. She's advertising something to me and that's why I hate it so much. She comes across less of a character and more like a billboard. As far as I'm aware no other in-game side feature absolutely blasts you with advertising the same way ToT does with Sorinne. Every big city, lurking near crafting stations and wayshrines, repeating the same obnoxious line. DLC barkers have been poorly done for a while but this one really takes the cake.

I was getting immune to her in Vivec, but then we had the latest event and she was right by the wayshrine in Solitude and I went right back to hating her again.

It HAS to be a deliberate thing.. Which says a lot about the company who would rather annoy you into buying their latest product than entice you.

I thought I'd read that you can accept her quest, and when you get to the guy in High Isle, you can say you already know how to play, and that drops the whole thing and shuts them all up? I couldn't find the relevant post though - unless I'm totally misremembering (entirely possible!)

I'll try it on someone today and see what happens, then report back.

Edited: no, doesn't work - there wasn't an option to say anything like that before actually having to continue the "learn how to play" quest stuff.

I own the dlc that gives you the ability to play ToT. I just don’t WANT to play. So it irritates me to have to listen to her like some crazy carnival barker. Move her out of crafting areas. Or give us the option to pass. This is an mmorpg. Not a Texas Hiold em hall. 😂

ive actually not really had an issue with this npc, but part of the reason is i dont regularly do daily crafting writs (i hate them so much), and since they allowed skipping the tutorial match for the tribute tutorial ive taken most of my toons to take the 30 sec to proceed through the dialog to unlock playing tribute, which at the same time shuts up the npc anyway lol

So much this! No addons on consoles so I've changed my route doing writs in Vivec to avoid her and still forget and run past her several times a day.

As annoying as Stuga and some others are, at least they only have one line of dialogue rather than a whole speech every time. :(

I did not know about an addon that will shut this tales of tribute npc up, THANK YOU. I was so angry about a "card game feature" that I left for three months and now that I am back, refuse to have anything to do with it. Even more angry that some things like achievement vendor furnishings are locked behind interacting with the game. Having to hear her pitch this thing multiple times EVERY day is salt in the wound. I appreciate the tip!

Lock her in a tavern in every city please. Put a quest marker over her head so people can find her. Simple as that.

My favourite interaction though is when I enter a random dungeon and one of the NPC’s hit me with the “Praise Vivec, you were there to stop Alexandria Conele from capturing the coral heart.”

Doesn’t this dungeon have bigger issues to deal with? 🤣

I mean I guess you can do that. Still sucks for people without High Isle, they're forced to hear her. I really don't want to go through all my toons just to shut the equivalent of adware up.

i told ya, Stuga was not that bad! She is your true follower and should be promoted into a Companion!
Despite Sorinne is a cutie, she is too much vocal and placing her literally everywhere (like on Vivec's City crafting square), from my humble point of view, is an overkill :(

Yeah. I picked up the quest on a fresh account that doesn't have High Isle. It's just gonna clog my list up for all eternity, because I don't want to hear it and don't want to play ToT on that account. I won't be buying it high Isle or any other dlc.

I have done it with mine - you take the quest, talk to the elf by the fountain in Gonfalon, right outside the tavern at the end of the long dock, and then the innkeeper in that tavern - tell the innkeeper that you already know how to play, and then join the league -- do NOT take the next quest, offered right there, and they do try and slip it by you with making the logical choice seem like going upstairs and playing... watch that, and you can get it done in minutes -- I just did it on a character, last night, and it worked perfectly.

      @spartaxoxo 4 accounts, 50 toon total.
@ZOS should make TOT tutorial (which is really time-consuming) skippapble, like "Welcome to Cyrodiil".

I agree, but they probably won't since they already patched it to work this way based off the feedback it should be skippable. They decided on "you have to play it the first time, then you can" for it, unfortunately. So in your case, you'd have to play it 4 times. And could skip it 46 times. At least it's better than the 50 times you had to play all the way through before the patch.

      @DinoZavr @spartaxoxo

the ToT tutorial IS mostly skippable now

you talk to braghas then go talk to the guy in the gaming hall (i forget his name already) and he will ask you if you know how to play tribute, if you say "yes" then it skips the entire rest of the quest and goes to the completion and now you can play tribute on that toon

you DONT have to redo the entire tournament questline unless you want to (or unlock the dailes since i think you need to do just a little more to unlock the ToT dailies) and you dont have to redo that whole tutorial match

the only requirement to be able to do this is having done the entire tribute tutorial at least once on your account, then each time after it will ask if you know how to play tribute and allow you to skip the tutorial match (effectively the entire tutorial) to unlock the tribute

i think this was something that was added with the firesong patch

We need to be able to talk to it and choose something to the effect of "No thanks." and that would be that. Later, if we want to pick it up, we can, but we don't have to hear it anymore.

It truly tests my wits and courage to hear her jabber on about a brand new card game every 6 minutes.

Especially when you consider that the card game came out almost nine months ago, and ZOS still hasn't bothered to remove the "brand new" adjective from the dialogue.

Reminds me of when they removed the Bosmer stealth and Argonian poison immunity almost four years ago, and to this day the quests and other lines from NPCs haven't been modified to reflect the changes in lore.

Oh my god, I'd rather have Stuga running to me than Sorinne. Stuga was easily fixed by just completing her quest. Sorinne keeps with her THERE YOU ARE! Every day and you can't complete her quest until you win a match of the cards game. I lost by 44 x 0 to a NOVICE after 10 minutes! It should be automatic win.

I was stressed doing the Western Skyrim events listening to that stupid NPC yelling THERE YOU ARE to me everytime I passed near her. I silenced NPCs to avoid her phrase.

What is worse, if you complete her quest and abandon the WIN A MATCH, she will go back to THERE YOU ARE phase
EVERYWHERE IN TAMRIEL. Zenimax, I DONT WANT to play that card game. If I get annoyed by that npc again, I will cancel my subscription. Seriously. Leave her in Gonfalon Bay. Do not put her in every city of the game. This is stupid and looks like an annoying unskippable advertisement.
