Can You Solo Harrowstorms?

I hate Harrowstorms and I generally ignore them. During the last event, I did Harrowstorms just to get the daily tickets. With 20-30 players, it took a minute. Now that the event is over, I'm back to ignoring them.

It makes me wonder how many folks can actually complete a Harrowstorm solo?

I voted yes, even though I haven't actually technically solo'ed one because I solo'ed the pikes. I assume I can also do the boss because the bosses are generally easier than the pikes, but people keep showing up after I take down the pikes lol.

I probably could if I really tried but harrowstorms and dragons are two world events I don't mess around with.

Events like this work well because usually, you have folks in the area..honestly, I have never seen one that didn't have at least a few people.

I doubt it but, I haven't really tried at it much either.

My tanky builds wouldn't do enough damage and would eventually get overwhelmed and my builds that might do enough dps to avoid getting overwhelmed would likely go squish at some point.

Harrowstorms are event only for me for the most part.

I tried. I can destroy a pike, but I'm still overwhelmed by too many monsters to do more.

Use time stop or some other aoe crowd control to even the odds. Not even joking.

A strong solo aoe build can do it pretty easily.

Maybe. I haven't tried recently to solo them, but generally on my more developed characters, I have no issues and take them down reasonably fast when there is one other person. High AoE damage, some sort of immobilization skill, and high awareness of mini-boss AoE attacks makes a huge difference.

I'd suggest some players can manage it but good luck doing it - if there's nobody there when it starts there'll be plenty by the time it's finished.

I'm 100% sure that some players can do it. I never tried because the prospect of being chased by a pack of shrikes focused solely on me isn't appealing. For an average player I think about 3-4 people are necessary.

I've never actually tried, but I assume I probably couldn't. Maybe if I ever get a tankier character levelled up and in decent gear, but my main is too squishy for anything like that.

If you run a 60k+ dps build, not too long.
3 witch pikes at 1.7m each and then the boss at 4m or whatever.
So about 9m total health to burn though.
9 000 000 / 60 000 or 900 / 6.
That would be 150 seconds or 2.5 minutes.
If you do 30k dps (due to staying alive, keeping up buffs, about 5 minutes.
The trick is focusing the pikes and then the boss and letting your aoe splash kill the adds.

I can solo dolmens and abyssal geysers (depending on which champion is sent), that's about all.

There are players who have solo done Veteran HM dungeons, even seen someone solo Asylum Sanctorum.

Harrowstorms are not that difficult.

I can't, but a good enough TankPS can. But it's hard, preposterously time consuming, and not even remotely fun, according to my guildies who've done so.

I can solo dolmens, easy.

I can solo geysers because they're scaled.

I can solo normal base-game dungeons unless there's some mechanic that requires at least one other player.

I can solo most base-game world bosses and several DLC world bosses.

I can take on a dragon solo and sometimes can survive long enough to put a dent in its life bar before it kills me, but it's going to kill me within a minute or two if no one shows up to help-- and if I somehow manage to survive long enough for it to take off and do its first flyby, I'm going to be killed by its adds.

I've tried to solo harrowstorms and volcanic vents, but they're pretty far beyond my meager DPS.

This. I use Circle of Protection/Turn Evil so the fear slows them down.

Time Stop is good too, if you've got the timing down. I managed to do two pikes before a couple of other people turned up but it took a while, and I really didn't fancy my chances with the boss.

The storm animation changes when pikes are down and is visible from far away. So people are likely showing up then to claim easy loot.

I think that Harrowstorms have a cap for how many enemies can spawn at once, so if you have a tanky build with a lot of passive healing (like health recovery or proc set) - it can be done. It will just take a lot of time, since you won't be able to dish out a lot of damage on your own.

I'd say yes since I'd gotten prob 95% of the way through but a few folks showed up at the tail end of the last boss. Won't lie, it took a really long time, a metric ton of kiting, pots, self healing, and a really good aoe build. I wouldn't do it again lol. Several wipes were involved which, yeah know, restart it.

You must play at a time when the server is fairly well populated. Try running in Europe (from Texas) and finding anyone. I am convinced the roll up the streets and the Internet access lines for many there!

Though I have found them sparse on PC NA as well.

How many people have all of you seen in those portals in Blackwood recently? Nice idea, but almost impossible now.

I would bet that is a VERY small subset of the playerbase and many of those are likely the ones who quit due to no challenge.

Which reminds me. We need a Blackwood event that includes Deadlands at some point, the last one was Blackwood-only before Deadlands was even a thing (just like the High Isle event was only High Isle before Firesong was a thing, in fact it had the collective reward that gave players a free Firesong DLC after the event was over.)

It's also been literally years since we had an event that took us to Murkmire.
