Would you pay more to get a completely solo ESO experience?

I was curious, I know that many (like myself) want to get a single player version of the 4 player dungeons and trials. But what if the option to get something like that came at an extra cost? Would you still want a single player experience?

I like doing stuff with people even if its just chatting in zone, grouping for a wb daily or daily dungeon etc. Id lose interest quickly if i was doing stuff by myself for long periods without any interaction, even though i did originally come from single player games.

No. Not everything should be tied to the cash shop. I already paid for each and every one of those dungeons. Nobody should have to a pay a separate price for an inferior version of content they already paid for just because other player make enjoying content they paid for difficult. ZOS already charges for the dungeons. They should be making them a quality experience without double dipping.

This one joined ESO being new to MMO and wasn’t sure if it’s the right decision. Turns out MMO is a lot of fun. So no, Sammy wouldn’t want a completely solo ESO experience.

Although story mode dungeon is still on this one’s request list.

No but they should let you be able to toggle off seeing people outside of group areas/towns.

Nothing ruins the experience quite like some rando ahead of you during a quest killing everything and making you wait for a respawn.

It depends on what exactly that means.

I do not want to play the whole game solo. If this meant buying a separate offline, single-player version of ESO then I wouldn't want to do it, even if I got to keep all my characters, achievements, items etc.

If instead it added a version of the dungeons balanced for 1 player (equivalent to solo story missions or overland in difficulty, I know some people can already do some dungeons solo with specialised builds) and with any mechanics which require 2+ players to complete (like switches that have to be pressed simultaneously) changed to allow for just 1 player then I'd be interested. But that's just a balance change to existing content (which already has 2 difficulty levels). I know it would take some work but it's not comparable to creating new content so I'd expect it to be priced appropriately. If it was too expensive then I wouldn't buy it. Maybe equivalent to the price of one DLC to unlock solo mode on all dungeons.

(And again I should still have the option of playing dungeons in a group when I want to. I don't want to avoid group content, I just want to be able to go through these areas at my own pace without worrying that I'm wasting 3 other people's time.)

At that point it's probably better to just make it a free update to the base game, especially since it would likely give more people an incentive to buy dungeon DLC so ZOS would get more money anyway and would probably gain more goodwill by making it a base game update than a paid extra.

In that situation I actually prefer to see the other players because then I know what's happened and can wait for enemies to respawn. If the players were invisible they'd still kill everything and I'd end up wandering through an empty delve or whatever wondering why there's nothing going on, until something suddenly respawned and I realised I'd missed a lot of it and had to go back and do it all again.

I would definitely not pay extra for single player versions of the same simple dungeon quests. Selling any kind of special or 'premium' versions of the dungeons seems illogical, I just can't imagine it being positively received by anyone. I would like a story mode option with no item rewards if they added it in a free update.

Absolutely not, in fact I’d probably leave if that were ever implemented. I play solo 90 percent of the time, it I like seeing other players running around in game, even if I have no contact with them. I am happy to answer questions for newbies or help out other folks who need help, just as I appreciate it if someone comes to help me if I’m having trouble soloing a difficult boss.

I don’t tend to like games with nobody around but NPCs.

Don't need it to be completely solo, but I would appreciate a lot more instancing for quest content. Might even want to pay for that if it had adjustable difficulty.

No I wouldn't pay more and I think dungeons and trials are fine how they are and should be group only content, but what I would like is pre 1 tamriel difficulty back.

I was doing firesong DLC today and there are some really good bosses with decent mechanics in them, but because they are *** easy I do not even need to block or dodge or anything, I just stand there and bash buttons until they die.
What I would like is something like a "champion mode" where you can do the quests again, but they are a much higher difficulty.

Some6thing like "cadwells platinum" where you can do the main quests of the base game and all DLCs on a higher and increased difficulty that is on par with vet dungeons, like how difficult VMA used to be.

All it would take for ZOS to do this is a quite simple option of increasing damage numbers, make every instance a full solo instance (which most are in main quests anyway) and let us do it at our own leisure, so we can back out, change build or character. possibly some extra rewards too.

Would be a real simple way for them to refresh old sets with "perfected versions" like they did with DSA and MA, but with actual overland sets.
Not only would this refresh metas, it would get people in the zones doing content again and would actually be really easy to implement that ZOS could do minimal work for X amount of years just rehashing and recalculating numbers on older content.

It seems a massive waste that all these DLC stories and all the art they put in gets seen once, for 2 mins by players (like me who are high level and run through it) and never seen again.
Make it actual challenging and engaging content then maybe we will actually care about the story and stop and appreciate the content.

And no, I would not pay for a solo mode, because I believe that ability to do a story undisturbed is an accessibility feature and those should be free.

    There are many points.

    To play "near" other people.

To play within a gaming world not only populated by NPCs.

To have the option to enjoy a social experience on a limited basis.

To play within a world that is always changing in a not so predictable manner.

Not everyone is an extroverted social butterfly hopelessly focused on extreme competition to min-max their way to e-fame and e-glory. For many of us we leave that behind after our early 20s.

Some of us even go to concerts in real life.... alone. And we enjoy the experience!

Different people have different outlooks. And that's OK.

As the idiom goes: "Different strokes for different folks."

No. This is the MMO, after all.

Moreover, the players guilds are the cornerstone of any MMO and in the ESO they do not receive as much love as needed.
Where are the guilds achievements and leaderboards, guilds contests, and when AvA arena for guild tournament will be implemented at last?
Guilds should be noticed, supported and rewarded. Unfortunately, game-makers think about ESO mostly as a MMO for soloists, and this is a wrong approach. Guilds are what keeps existing players and attract new ones.
Time to show some love for the players guilds, isn't it?

While I can certainly appreciate the desire for solo dungeons and trials in order to experience the story content at your own pace, I also understand that it goes against the very nature of the game itself and wouldn't really make a lot of sense.

That being said, I would absolutely welcome an update of some kind that gave us toned down versions of this content for players with physical limitations who cannot otherwise do this content or who have to be "carried" through the content (if by carried one assumes that not being fast enough to complete a speed run or trifecta is an issue, and there isn't actually any skill problem, just a problem of physical inability to react fast enough to complete the conditions for a trifecta).

I'd also love to see more instanced content in general. For Delves, they can and should be open to all, but if I want to do the associated quest (if there is one) I should have an option for an instanced version of the delve so I can actually experience all the details that go into crafting that quest in the first place. This would also incentivize the writing teams to create more nuanced storytelling, as it can actually be experienced as opposed to having enemy NPCs with interesting or unique things to say getting obliterated in seconds.

Essentially, I just want more instanced stuff on top of what we already have. Story mode runs put together by guilds shouldn't have to be doing the heavy lifting for people who want to see the story and explore and listen to the NPCs. Give us a free update that adds instanced quests and I'm a happy man.

I think that this would be a much better way to address the accessibility issues that ZOS wants to address without having to rely on very overtuned items that get abused by people who don't actually need them to complete content. Things like Oakensoul are great in a vacuum, or when you assume that only people who need the help will use it, but in practice it should have been obvious that it was going to cause issues. Giving us story modes and tuned down content designed for single players as an active alternative to the traditional content is the option that makes the most sense without impacting gameplay for everyone across the board.

You wanna chase trifectas and go stomping mudholes into everything with your 130k uber builds, have at it in the traditional mode. You want to see the sights and take your time while being able to actually experience the content you paid for and not having to rely on the kindness of strangers to do so? Have a single player balanced instance with all the bells and whistles that doesn't give anything beyond normal clear achievements.

I don't think that restricting gear drops on a story mode would be cool, since that would impact those who otherwise can't get their hands on the gear. Just don't allow the Vet clear achievements, collectables, titles and monster helm drops and all that higher end incentive-based stuff as a part of story mode instances.

No, because my favourite content is group content (dungeons, trials) and PvP. There is a way to kind of have a solo experience: go to the PTS and play there, it's very rare you will bump on someone outside of testing cycles.

Edited to add: I'm not a fan of the trend of turning MMOs into solo experiences, which has happened with other games lately (like FFXIV) there's plenty of single-player RPG games available, whereas (good) MMORPGs don't often come by. I don't know if it's because in recent times people are generally less social, but it's concerning to see happening.

Some players did solo even DLC dunguans HMs before.

If it will be designed for solo it would be easy to do,so category of people who can be interested in it- are not really interested.

And such players plays good and have unique builds, after 2-3 times developer nerf such players builds they lose trust i the game and are not interested to play such games. (If you play good and get nerfs for that - such MMO has no future, because you play MMO to become more powerfull, if you just get nerfs for that - no need to play it)

And for a lot of player just pass normal is not some thing hard or unusual thing.
