Had not played in about 3-4 years. Game had been on my hard drive all this time and wouldn't load (I was playing other games from the same hard drive, maybe that screwed something up over the years). I uninstalled ESO, and then reinstalled it from my account, and had it put a short cut on my desktop.
Clicked on the shortcut and the game started to load. I put in my password, and that part worked fine, but after that, the trouble started. My mouse cursor suddenly disappeared. When I clicked on the screen I got my cursor back, but it was a different shape. Got a small box that gave me two options. One option was to load the game, the other was to exit. I opted to load the game and that started, but then froze up after the character selection screen, and I still had that different shape cursor. Can't get beyond this point. When the game finally exits, I get a box that says that it will notify Microsoft of the problem.
I ran the ESO repair utility, but that didn't show any problems, but didn't fix it either.
Should I run a repair utility on the hard drive?
Any suggestions are welcome.
