25% won't encourage me to brave the tank bg that is chaos ball. Higher drop rate for motifs and 100% ap bonus might.

    -slower queues
-games dominated by builds tailored for the game mode (this time it was unkillable block tanks, last time it was unkillable speed tanks)
-an extra 2-4 potions worth of AP per game isn't getting people very saucy

I did see some new faces in BG's though, and interestingly IC seemed the busiest it's been in weeks. So there's that.

I think the format can really only work with deathmatch, since a deathmatch exploit build is just a good build. I think the rewards should be rethought too. 10 transmutes tied to the daily during these events would go along way towards driving participation, but that should really be the standard all the time and we should get Columbine and the infrequent Hakeijo too.

25% isnt really worth it imo, i still like BGs dont get me wrong, but the time investment compared to AP yield isnt all that great. Might as well rough it out in cyrodil

@Stamicka The first Battlegrounds weekend event was Deathmatch. We did that in September.

Edit: Stamicka was correct, it was capture the relic. Just wanted to clarify for future reading.

@ZOS_Kevin I thought the very first weekend event was Capture the Relic? Did I miss the first one? I would have played all weekend if it was deathmatch.

@Stamicka, sorry, you are correct. It was capture the relic. Seems like I was also dreaming of deathmatch!

Oh, you too eh? Because the only deathmatch I ever get to play anymore is in my dreams.

I think that the special BG events are a good idea with bad execution. The AP gain needs to be increased and perhaps the mode needs to be changed daily for example...
Chaosball Thursday. Crazy king Friday. Death match Saturday etc.

There seems to be a very vocal group that speaks out against death match, but in my experience the people who consistently BG and feed the Q prefer death match.

These events are fine. BGs are fine. They're just not great. I honestly don't know what to do to make them more engaging. I really really have to be in the mood to even think about a BG. I'm glad people who like BGs are getting something, but can't help but feel they should do something more. Like double AP and drops, including drop rate of that damn AP recipe.

Xbox queue was much more active during both event weekends than normal...Id bet my paycheck the data back me up

Even high dps players who prefer deathwatch still get a thrill from using other players as live target dummies such as my almost but not quite un killable tank

@ZOS_Kevin extra BG rewards in the mail or through Battlemaster Riven is probably enough incentive to do extra BGs- participation for anything can be driven up for limited time or exclusive rewards. A ticket can be considered as well though I would suspect a different set of rewards to roll out.

edit: A chance of tradeable BG/PVP style pages in the mail would also be incentive enough to drive up participation, and possibly available at the impresario as well fot tickets, since there are people who are staunchly opposed or who are unable to PVP for a variety of reasons (health/heart conditions) but collect style pages- this would drive up their value. Can also do first/second/third place boxes, or prizes for a certain number of medals (damage dealt, healing, etc).

I'm not a fan of being forced into a single game mode, I like the variety of game modes that doing battlegrounds regularly gives, perhaps a separate queue for the weekend mode and one for people who like the regular mode roulette? I suppose that might split the playerbase up a bit, would also help if the game was cross-platform so the player numbers would work for that kind of setup.
