Legendary companion gear bound?

So it looks like all the items from the Participation event boxes are bound, including some purple companion gear, purple crafting writs and the Legendary companion drop.

Were these items supposed to be bound? I only ask because the Legendary ring I got, is a trait that sucks...same with the purple items I got, none of them are type/traits that are useful.

It was intentional. Dunno why, but it was.

They went with that trait because while it's not meta for anything it's useful for all three roles you could want a companion to so.
