Can't choose any race/any faction or Imperial

I submitted a ticket for this hours ago but haven't gotten any sort of response. Hoping someone here has an answer for me. I originally preordered the standard edition directly from Zenimax, decided I wanted the Imperial edition, so I had customer service cancel my order. I then preordered the Imperial from Green Man Gaming and applied the preorder code to my account. I can log on today, but I can't choose any race/any faction, and Imperial is grayed out. I understand that this is an issue for previously canceled preorders from reading Jessica's post on Reddit. Is there a fix available for this issue?

I did the exact same thing as you, but ordered CE from Amazon. I got an early access code emailed to me, but I can't play as Imperial, don't have any of the items and can't even choose the faction I want because it's still race restricted. Apparently there's an Imperial key code in the package we'll get that you have to activate to get the Imperial stuff. Pretty redundant if you ask me. Havn't heard a thing back from customer service about this yet either. Early access really has no meaning to me now, since I'll have to start a new character over again come April 4.

The second key is completely unrelated to the play as any faction/race issue. From what I'm reading on reddit, this is caused from a bug in the ordering process.

Well that's just great. I've submitted 2 tickets and havn't heard a thing from customer service. So glad I pre-ordered...it's been sooooo worth it.

I am in the same boat. I only care about the any race any faction. I purchased the imperial retail from amazon. At least I can play 1 of the characters I wanted to make at the start, which is a Breton in DC. Wanted to do a Argonian for DC. Can someone post the link to the reddit thread please?

I've been PMing back and forth with her via reddit, and she mentioned that they've identified the issue. I asked her what an ETA for the fix was, and I haven't gotten a response yet.

Hopefully soon. Just had my wife's account log in and we've done the same thing we both purchased the game from the site then had it refunded to purchase the imperial ed retail from amazon. But when she logged in she could choose any race any faction, including the imperial. I am still unable to as of writing this post.

i have some problem like you, in the class part i only see an "?" i have to reinstall the game to make it work. i think it was a problem with the beta patch, because i can chose the imperial race but my game was a standar version, so something was broken, i make a freshreinstall and bingo wen i login again everything was working.

@Sagatho your issue is different than the one we've been discussing. From what I've been reading, yours can be fixed by running the repair function on the launcher.

Bump. Still broken. I've been reading reports on those reddit threads of people getting this fixed, but I'm sitting at the end of day 2, still unable to create the character I want to play. I got a call at 9:30 this morning, but since then, crickets.

Same deal nothing. Although i have gotten a response again. These guys seem to be stuck on the imperial in game goodies, I thought I have made it clear that I do NOT care about the in game goodies at this time and can understand if i don't have the package they don't work despite the site saying it should. What i care about is the any race any faction, the whole point as to why I preordered. (I like argonians) Them seem to be trying to push the blame on amazon at this time, even though I know they work as i went through the SAME EXACT order process on my wife's account and hers has access to everything.

I got a second response at 3 AM. This is what it said:

"Alright. At this time I'd like to forward you to someone that can take a better look at your account. From there they will contact you to help you resolve this issue."

Seriously??? It took 2 days for that?

I got that last night and responded with a rather lengthy letter, the next morning i had a message saying they fixed my account so I can now play any race any faction, as well as use my imperial stuff. Took them a bit and about 10 reminders that I wasn't worried about the imperial stuff only the pre order bonus of any race any faction, they seemed to be stuck on the fact i wanted to play a imperial when i mentioned the version i purchased, even though i made it quite clear in the letters i didn't.

Glad to hear yours is fixed @Kenthros ! Both mine and my friend's are finally fixed as well. I was able to start creating my new AD Breton JUST as the servers went offline yesterday afternoon. LOL Still got some good play time in after my daughter went to sleep last night, so I'm a happy camper. :-)
