Concern about the Faun’s Lark Cladding mythic item

If you continuously Sprint for 1 second, you gain the ability to pass through enemies. Enemies you pass through become Charmed for 4 seconds, removing their ability to attack or cast abilities as they move toward you. Charming an enemy this way restores 678 Stamina and Magicka to you and heals you for 678 Health.

If this works on players it will become the single most broken defensive pvp set in the game. It would also make playing pvp an extremely negative experience because not being able to use your own abilities is debilitating to the players. It simply is an anti-fun set that appears to be designed to ruin your gameplay experience.

    Each group will have a turtle tank with this and vamp stage 4 so people don't see it coming until they pop through someone (if removing from stealth includes sprint invisibility) Or just a few in a zerg ball now that an unlimited number can mark crown to keep track, just constantly sprinting

    Yeah this mythic is going to be terrible to play against. This screams battleground mythic too. Once the weekend battlegrounds come in, they're gonna equip this for relic runner or chaos ball and every gamemode will be a nightmare as you wont be able to kill some specs

    They need to outright disable this in PVP

    Seriously, I can't believe they made a mythic to encourage players to skip all the enemies in dungeons.

    All 3 new mythics are looking pretty disappointing tbh. Nothing for damage, just weird utility nobody asked for. Guess we'll all keep using Kilt or Coil.

I read this as meaning the charm is a soft taunt and they move towards you and can't attack during that time, that kind of effect doesn't work on players. As a player you can just not move towards them

    I have no idea what the thought is behind this set. After reading it, I really would like some insight as to what the itemization team looks like, and what their experience in game is. I will log onto the PTS as soon as it becomes available to test this and see whether this works in PVP or not.

    This set makes no sense at all from a PVP perspective.

    First, if there is no way to easily identify and break free of this effect, there is no counterplay to it. People can disable your ability to play the game, and you can't do anything about it.

    Second, the game has severe location desync and cannot accurately determine where players are or where they are facing. This is shown by multiple things, but easy ways to identify this are to
    • Proc the minor berserk from camo hunter - you can frequently see this effect proc when you are in front of people, when it is only supposed to proc from the flanks.
    • Proc off balance on surprise attack/concealed - same as camo hunter. You can get procs from in front of people.
    • observe the "out of range bug" that happens constantly in PVP. Very frequently you will be visually on top of/next to another player, but you will receive the "target out of range" notification for your 5-7 meter range melee abilities.

    This means that firstly, players may not even need to sprint directly through you to proc this. Secondly, the game WILL NOT be able to determine if you are "moving towards" the person that procs this on you. I predict this to be EXTREMELY buggy, clunky, and all around awful to deal with.

    Third, what realistic application does this have across the game? I can only see this being useable for removing one person's ability to fight back against multiple people in PVP. In PVE, I do not understand why or how you could possibly use this.

    The best case scenario: a coordinated group will wear this during trash mobs and sprint to the boss, then dressing room into their boss gear. Speed run records? Lol.

    Worst case scenario: random PUG dood runs past all the mobs and mini bosses and kills the final boss, then disbands the group while the rest of the group is fighting the first boss or drowning in add-pulls. TYFG!

    Edit: okay the set is pretty harmless but has a bit trolling potential since you don't really have an indicator that you got stunned

    There's cause for concern, considering zos's track records to listening to play concerns. I mean the whole oakensoul debacle could've been avoided by either making it solely PVE like it was intended, but it still passed through and players had to suffer as a result.

    Plus the fact there's no "against monsters" stipulation gives plenty of reason to be concerned

    Excluding things that paralyze the player, I have never seen a single set that does anything to remove the players control over their character. I would be drop dead surprised if you had anything to be worried about.

    React, I know why Zos has introduced this set. They know the gods of PvP cannot be contained through nerfs and balance changes. So they will literally eliminate us from playing to allow the less capable to finally win. As foreshadowed from prior messages from ZoS "Skill Gap is still to big". Whilst also gaining a pretty amount of pennies in the process. Genuine Genius !

    yeah sure if you have 3 people around you wearing this you just stand still and do nothing. If we learned anything its that zenimax calculations dont works all the time. if its a 180° cone, which sounds like it. Then 2 people are enough to negate anything you can do.
    What do you mean? It only removes ability to attack that specific player while moving, stand still and attack whatever.

    That said, I don't believe, as written, it will even work in pvp

    This implies that you cannot cast any ability, offensive or defensive, towards any target if you are "moving towards" the person that charmed you. If it does work in PVP, this reads like total loss of all character functionality based on a proc condition that will be at best, extremely buggy and inconsistent.

    If this is gonna work on players.... then it might finally be a hard counter to ball groups.

    Already we can not cast any ability when they are near (lag), so not a big difference, but in a scenario in which ball group is inside inner keep / outpost, then a couple of solo players with this mythic & casting RAT... they might be able to disable a ball group for 4 seconds.

    The description is very vague, so it may only refers to skills that requires a target, so the ball group can still out-heal anything while keeping AOE ulit spam up - which renders this mythic useless against them.

    Ah yes about time someone mentioned ball groups in this thread. This mythic is going to make pvp painful for anyone on the receiving end of the mythic. Not just ball groups. Have you considered how this might affect BG's for example? There's already people with run builds who run around a bg map with chaos ball, if they equip this it just completely disables enemy teams for short period of time which will make BG matches painfully unfun to play than they already are.

    PvP in this game isn't balanced around ball groups believe it or not. It's going make pvp unfun for everyone. Large scale, small scale, solo, BG's Imperial city.

    This Mythic just needs to be allowed only in PVE environments

    Here you go. This is the mythic being used against me, and me using the mythic against someone.

    The "moving towards them" function does not work at all. The mythic is basically a CC, but without disabling their ability to move. They can break free of the CC, they cannot be stunned by another ability during/after the mythic is proc'd on them, it does not proc consistently when you sprint through them (due to the location desync I mentioned earlier, probably).

    Outside of it possibly being horrendously bugged in laggy PVP environments, this mythic seems to be fully useless everywhere. Really wish development would be put into creating things that actually have uses.

    It counts as stun. It gives CC immunity and you can CC break it. It won't work on CC immune targets including elite monsters.

    I could see this as potentially being useful to speedrun PVE dungeons when it comes to trash mobs. Skip the trash and go directly to just the bosses?

    Now FG1 will be faster than ever :D

    Odd sounding set. I think I'm numb to it all. I can't keep up with the updates as a casual who mostly plays cyrodiil. I guess if it works in pvp I'll just get a laugh out of watching it and wait for the nerf.

    From what I'm told you can just cc break it and cast skills as normal so not a big deal
