This is the official feedback thread for the new furnishings and various quality of life updates. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • Were the new features intuitive to use? Were any confusing?
  • If you used a PTS template…
    • Were you able to find the newest furnishings in The Homeowner’s Crate quickly and easily?
    • Did the overall structure of The Homeowner’s Crate make sense?
    • Did you feel like you could easily find previously released furnishings?
    • Was it clear how to unlock houses and recipes from previous releases?
    • Could you easily find the materials you wanted?
  • Do you have any other general feedback?

Were the new features intuitive to use? Were any confusing?
    • Name and population were easy to see, both in my own home and in other players' homes!
    • Using the Tab retrieval seemed easy enough - I imagine it's going to be exceptionally helpful for cobbles - particularly things like display cases or aquariums. Will definitely have to play with it more but I like that it puts items back where they were if it isn't the right item.
    • House-linking of your own homes through collections menu was SUPER easy and intuitive.
    • Appreciate the subcategory for items being on tooltip - very nice!
    • Guest decorator retrieval was SO nice, and totally intuitive - I hugely appreciate this as someone who decorates for other people regularly.
    • The Inspect/browse mode in homes you don't have decorator's access to is interesting! I think it functions fine and is intuitive enough. Linking from this view is pretty easy (which is great for housing guilds - I look forward to being able to link my members' entries in the MotD for those who don't use Addons and Console players will be delighted I am sure!)
    • I'm not sure the item switching speed between previews was SUPER noticeable to me, but I did notice that things were zoomed in more than they should have been for a number of items. Having a native zoom in-out feature in previews would be a welcome addition in future patches.

If you used a PTS template…
Were you able to find the newest furnishings in The Homeowner’s Crate quickly and easily?
Very quickly and easily! I found them basically instantly.

Did the overall structure of The Homeowner’s Crate make sense?
Yes! I think this is a great improvement over previous iterations.

Did you feel like you could easily find previously released furnishings?
Yes and no - I could easily find the folder that housed them but the naming conventions of "Reward Item Furnishing Crate 1" (etc) were unhelpful and resulted in a lot of inventory clutter just to see what was in each crate. Some sort of description in the tooltip or more descriptive categorical naming conventions would be helpful. This could be simply alphabetizing what is in the crates and labeling them as such - but identifiers related to content would be more useful IMO.

Was it clear how to unlock houses and recipes from previous releases?
I found it to be very clear.

Could you easily find the materials you wanted?
I could easily find standard furnishing materials - but not furnishing style items.

Do you have any other general feedback?
    • In the item that has you learn all past plans - it causes your character to learn quite a few plans that have yet to actually make it to live servers (that aren't new plans advertised with Firesong) - examples: "Common Campfire, Outdoor" and a number of "Witches" plans --- these are plans that have been around via PTS cycling and such for a long time but not actually dropping/available on live servers. There are also a whole slew of Wall Mount furnishings (Gallery category) that are not currently plans on the Live servers, but are instead Lux vendor items, crown store items, or just not yet available at all. I believe the list goes beyond this - as the item told me I learned just under 80 than are actually available on Live servers at the moment. Some others in the meal category as well - quite a considerable amount of plans that we don't currently have access to on Live.
    • Some of the items in Reward Furnishing Crate 3 are not items that drop or are rewards on Live servers currently (i.e. - Hlaalu Wall Pillar, Sillar Stone & Hlaalu Stairs, Sillar Stone - I also think a mushroom or two are crown or house exclusive, but am not sure what exactly the intent behind "Reward Item" is - so unsure if those should still be in that crate or not).

Another note: Several of the Firesong shelves/bookshelves might have incorrect names/identifying code?

    Examples:
This is identified as a "Tall" shelf.
    2ovu7awbbals.png

This is Identified as the "Shelf, Short" - but is even taller than the "Firesong Bookcase, Short Lava" (and I did triple check I was hovering over the same item I was previewing in all of these).
    3yf3ov01dpav.png

Example of one that seems to be named correctly, but sharing it in relation to the above two items. :)

Very interesting. The Druidic furnishings are everything I wanted Markarth's to be. I wish there were more of them. I love the look of the overgrown stone bench, for instance. Interesting that we got some Maomer furnishings. The woodworking station looks awesome. The achievement pool is amazing.

Those cute birdhouses we saw strewn around High Isle are missing though, even though they have been requested. I hope we will still see them as furnishings.

I looked in the crown store and patch notes but there doesn't seem to be any houses yet? Unless I somehow missed them. I wasn't the biggest fan of Highhallow Hold's layout, so I hope we will get other Breton options because I am a big Breton fan. Potential house ideas are a High Isle cottage, a Druid-themed home, and maybe a palace like we see in Gonfalon? It has a really good layout, not too big but just right.

Furnishings I desperately need, before we move on from the Breton theme: Those wood tile floors we see in the Gonfalon palace, the purple fancy tapestries also seen there, and the square variant of the High Isle fireplace.

Would also like to see the stone like we see in the palace, such as the stone pillars and archways. There's the wells (including one with a nice lattice overhang), and the stone archway and short fences. We are also missing High Isle style wall cupboards and a stone version of the railings. These would make me most happy.

It seems that the new Blessing of Stone music box plays the exact same song as the Blood and Glory music box. I love the look of this new box but please change the song to something not used in a previous one.

Is there an option to get rid of that population thingy at the upper right hand corner of the screen?(I can't find it) If not, please give us that option. It's useless to me and there's already enough stuff on my screen as it is.

    <3 - Inspection Mode!!!
    <3 - Cycle Target!!!
<3 - Link invite to Chat!!!
<3 - All of the Druidic Furnishing!!! Especially the little oven (hearth), the lights and everything with flowers on it

:'( - No flowery Druidic Chair (why is the best chair not included again? Is there an issue with chairs?)
:'( - Missing a lot of pottery/urns/dishware again (they are in the world, but we can't have em')
:'( - Would love a way to mark houses in the collection UI as 'Furnished" or 'Ready for others to see' to be able to quickly spot the ones on the list you may want to share.
:'( - No new Rolis Hlaalu writ voucher furniture with this DLC?
:'( - What about all the furnishing items from High Isle that we didn't get? Like all the carpets/curtains/tapestries/beds and just about everything else? So much missing from each category. Thank you for the 4 High Isle items that were included.

o:) - Still waiting for the day you add EHT stuff. I don't use it, myself, but I really want the Housing Hub (Open Houses) and the Guest Journal added to the game. Fingers crossed that the chat link is a precursor to this.
o:) - Please let us farm/grow stuff/loot stuff in our homes! Any day year now, right?

I'm guessing it's a placeholder until the proper song is added to the files.

Guys, is the Breton theme over? I get this DLC is about the druidic roots of the Bretons, but we don't have enough High Isle themed furnishings. People have said this when you announced the dungeon DLC.

Where are the castle elements? We didn't get any of the Breton dungeon set, which is really well made and would be great to build with. Where are the castle arches, roof tiles, straw roof btw would have been very popular, walls, furniture, etc? You just moved to quickly to the druid theme.

Alright, the druidic things. They are cool, but without a druidic themed home I am not that interested. You haven't released any druidic structural furnishings. None.

I chuckled seeing those candle lamps held by rope. Clearly who designed those didn't used candles much. That rope would burn in less than a minute. But maybe it's some kind of magic flame :)

Another missed opportunity is not releasing a tower house, like the one we see in Ember's quest.

And lastly.. no empty planter, not even this time?

    Greetings,

A note for all the Furnishings Plans:

There is a disparity with the naming and materials.
Pattern is being used for wooden items that do not include cloth, as well as for stone items.

Wooden items should be Blueprints, Stone items should be Praxes. Patterns should be cloth based, whether it is because of a covering on a bed or a pillow.

There are Blueprints that are clearly stone items and therefore should be Praxes.
And yes, even tall and short items are incorrectly named.

There is a Pattern > Censor > Metal. Already a few things wrong here, but at least start with Formula. ;)
And the last glaring mistake are Sketches, with no gems, but Wax and Bervez Juice/Frost Mirriam! Clay pots used for food should at least be in Provisioning, or Alchemy or even Enchanting.

Please revisit every single Furnishing Plan BEFORE RELEASE - I do not want to have to redo all the furnishing item creation pages on the Wiki :D:s

Thank you so much in advance... but PLEASE FIX THEM ALL.

I agree with everything else you said, but we literally just got new writ voucher gold plans with the last update which was only just over a month ago.

We normally get 1 new set a year, so we shouldn't expect any with this coming update.

Rolis Hlaalu gets new gold plans 2 times per year. 1Q and 3Q. Just like new structural plans. So when we get new dungeons we get new furnishings for housing.
In 1Q we get structural plans for Q4 of previous year (So with the next Dungeon dlc we will get new plans for Firesong).
In 3Q we get structural plans for chapter zone.

At least thats how it was for the last 2 years. I dont know how its was before Greymoor as i wasnt playing then yet.

Some other topics are coming up about the furnishing limit on houses and the number of crafting stations for sets being an issue for guilds, as 296 slots will need to be dedicated just to crafting for guild halls. The general consensus is that this needs to be combined somehow.

or that the limit needs to be raised.

I think due to performance issues that may develop if you increase the cap, you should look into this or the requested feature for either this update or the next one.

Yes there is but not as accurate. Lets say we start a new year:
Before Q1 we get motifs for dungeons from Q3 of previous year. (2 motifs)
Between Q1 nad Q2 we get motifs for previous zone from Q4 of previous year. (usualy 2 motifs - 1 for quests and 1 for group events)
Between Q2 nad Q3 we get motifs for dungeons from Q1. (2 motifs)
Between Q3 and Q4 we get motifs for chapter zone from Q2. (usualy 2 motifs - 1 for quests and 1 for trial)

In addition there are usually 2 new motifs with Q2 release - 1 from quests and 1 from leads.
There is 1 - 2 new motifs with Q4 release - 1 from quests and sometimes 1 from leads (For example Deadlands had motif from leads but Firesong wont).
Amount of motifs for zones can be diffrent or drop from diffrent places, depending on what ZOS is adding (for example new arena would most likely have a motif too if we had one)

So in short, after DLC it takes 4 - 6 months to get motifs added.
Lets now hope that ZOS wont change anything :x

And just a note that it looks like Firesong will have only 1 motifs from quests instead of 2 (1 for WB and 1 for delves) as in description it says that it will drop from both quests. This could result in 1 less motif in zone or there will be something later. Thats why its not that accurate.

There were none of these, except for some basic structural furnishings such as stone walls, platforms and stairs. Many people hoped to build a Breton castle. The assets we see in the game look amazing. TBH I am also not that interested in the druidic stone furnishings, but I don't have anything against it, since many people would have use for them.

I can't agree more with the missed opportunity statement.

Hmm, interesting. So, for clarification, the motifs never come on patch day for the Chapter, Dungeon DLCs, or the zone DLC? But, instead, always during some less noteworthy patch that occurs 'in-between" those patches?

    On The Subject Of Housing

Speaking as both a Guild Manager of a fairly active Roleplay guild and an active member of the Roleplay community, I can say with a certainty that the ability to link Guild Halls and other private Roleplay created spaces in general within the Guilds About Us or MOTD tab is immeasurably helpful. I simply can not stress how IRL life tends to leave me running late for hosting guild events whilst the others want to mingle as they wait but without the abode being a primary ahead of time, They are stuck waiting outside till either my eventual arrival or someone just happens to have the PTF - Port To Friend addon to get them inside. I know speaking from experience that not everyone likes to install addons or is tech savy enough to figure out the process of keeping them running smoothly so this is a vast improvement to the quality of life as for the Roleplay community is concerned but...

And yes there is ALWAYS... A but....

There is one major achilles heel with this system if it stays as functions currently which could be exploited leaving a lot of Guild Managers including myself with a raging headache going forwards, As with every community there is always those bad eggs that you would prefer to avoid even if they do not want to avoid you and are hell bent on chasing you down to the ends of the earth just to get their kicks and thrills. From what i have tested if you link any abode invite into the chat system, Anyone anywhere can copy that invite and save it, The invite does not seem to expire meaning that invite can be passed around the community of bad eggs like wildfire leaving you wide open for griefing and harassment by those bad eggs which could drastically affect player participation in Roleplays going forwards as most hardcore Rpers have pulled away from public Hubs in favour of using player abode Hubs to escape the toxicity that is plaguing those public spaces.

And yes i know that the whiltelist is a thing and you can add guilds and/or induvidual people to that list whilst locking down your house to everyone else but even then that means having to endlessly add people to the whitelist going forwards that you desire to come in or out of your abodes at their pleasure.

What i would suggest is some way to make all links within the Guilds MOTD and/or About Us section permanent whilst any links submitted in chat have a shelf life of an hour or even a few days to avoid the toxic community from hoarding these links and using them as live ammunition against others, And whilst yes that may seem like a strange concept. I have been around long enough to know that these people will stop at nothing to grief others if given half the chance.

    House linking in chat?

I'll offer my take on this feature. Put it under a tab.

Yes it seems to work, in zone chat - which hopefully I never have to do. Why put it in chat at all? I can see that being useful in guild chat. A housing guild, sure...but putting it in our wonderfully toxic zone chat? No thanks.

Why not just put it in a tab on the inventory screen exactly like the community server in EHT does? Then only people actually interested in housing will look for it, and these people still don't have to be restricted to your own guild. And they will not be restricted to EHT users either.

We could add in descriptions of the house, exactly like EHT allows. There could be a selection of categories, exactly like EHT.

That would be better on all counts.

Liking the QoL updates, but it would be nice if you also made it possible to place down multiple pets of the same kind, so that one could have a sheep pen of identical sheep, or chicken coup with identical chickens etc.

Not really related to furnishings, but related to housing.
Will we get any actual housings this year? We've gotten 2:
    - Inn Room
    - Highhallow Hold
Nothing else. High Isle is a vacation island, and had ample opportunity for vacation homes, like beach-side manors. Or something like Steadfast Manor with a swimming pool.
Tor Draoich styled wizard tower would've been amazing too!

With Galen, you've a chance to give us a Druidic home, or even just an empty sandbox plot which many of us would love. Is there any reason we're not getting any houses this year?

    Those would be awesome!

Still begging and pleading for a solution for the expanding number of crafting stations I have to have in the guild house. Every 6 months I have to disassemble another decoration to fit in more tables, I don't have many left... Heck, in another year I'll have to add another row of platforms to put the tables on and I don't even think I have room for them anymore.

I have written a letter regarding this and the number of Crafting Sets that come out each year. There is Set overload but we do not want to reduce sets. We want to reduce TABLES.

Please make a SETS Clothing Station, and a SETS Blacksmithing Station.. etc..
What do you do with all the old ones?
They turn into the new ones and become UNBOUND and can be sold on the Traders until they are gone, then they are gone. When they are Placed in the new owner's home, they can become BOUND again.

OR have them sold back to the Writ Merchants for nearly the same cost. The Writ Merchants will then have the NEW kind. Then start adding NEW OTHER things to the Writ Merchants for us to buy.

Start some Crafting Quest Lines. [Remember the EQ Prayer Shawl?] Give us LOTS of Crafting Quests.
Always looking for new ways to keep interest with more than fighting, and Deco is a HUGE part of that.

YES please! Crafters hardly get anything in this game and it would be nice to have this. The most we get is Grandmaster Crafter, which at this point is kind of a joke as the hard part was supposed to be the 50 styles and there are too many in the game right now so the 50 cheapest are super easy to get.

We sorely need Attunable stations that can be attuned to all stations for guild crafting halls.

Furniture making mats are too rare and drop too unreliably. Increase drop rates, allow them to drop from surveys, allow us to decon furniture to get mats from it, have Hirelings deliver it, and have it come from material refinement.
