Press play on launcher but nothing happens

Anyone help I press play on launcher nothing happens no errors just goes gray and sits there, I have repaired, uninstalled, updated all known drivers ran game consultant everything...........still dose noththing

no you certainly are not. i have attempted it in beta as well and couldn't get the play button to work then either. now i have my early release and it still doesnt work. i sent an email to the support team and what i got back was something about locating the usersettings.txt file and changing something but i don't even have a usersettings.txt file to make changes to....

I had this same problem and i was missing a .txt file that needed to go along with the game apparently.

It can be found under Documents>ElderScrollsOnline>Live

There should be a .txt that is called UserSettings.txt

One option
Locate the line "SET RequestedNumThreads "X" change the X from whatever number it may be to 0.

The issue I have with that, is Documents>ElderScrollsOnline>Live is not a location on my computer, but I'm also fairly idiotic when it comes to this sort of thing. Not a gearhead. What am I missing?

The issue isn't that I can't look something up, the issue is that I can't perform the fix listed for the "grey play button" because the Live folder doesn't exist on my computer after Installing/Patching/Repairing etc. No idea why...but i don't even have a Documents/ElderScrollsOnline folder, everything is in Program Files, but the Live folder doesn't exist there either.

Looks like I'm reinstalling.

If this doesn't work for you, find a friend who has it working, take a flash drive over to their house, copy their live folder, bring it home, replace your live folder with theirs, then go in and change the usersettings.txt, then click play. Worked for my GF's comp with this same problem and after hours spent with tech support I just tried this and it worked. Good luck and I hope it works for everyone.
