I often buy more that the 21000 crown packs when the 40% sale is on I just make multiple purchases. the only thing I wish is that we could pay for more than one crown pack at a time..it would be just a small adjustment to the store.

The thing is the bigger the pack the more money they lose because the price per crown drops. That's not a desirable outcome for them.

No. It is. Because they get more money than if the person only bought 1 pack. And crowns cost them nothing to offer.

Not really. If someone needs/wants X amount of crowns then more than likely they'll just buy that amount or the pack size that covers . Regardless of the permutations needed to get there. Here's a break down if how much it actually costs the more you spend

    Crowns USD Crowns per USD
    750 7.99 93.87
    1500 14.99 100.07
    3000 24.99 120.05
    5500 39.99 137.53
    14000 99.99 140.01
    21000 149.99 140.01

For OP's scenario they want 50k crowns going by ZOS's bulk rate of 140.01 that's works out to be $357.12 when rounded. That's kind of a weird number and customers don't like prices ending in weird numbers so they'll probably cut that down to an even $350. That works out to about 142.8 crowns per dollar. Scaled up by a magnitude of thousands or tens of thousands of buyers over a quarter that's a lot of money lost compared to having customers make smaller but more frequent purchases

I just wanted to add that these value do not include sales taxes which vary depending on location so the conversion rates will be different depending on where you live.

The thread is about people who want to buy more crowns than any of the available ones have to offer. Right now, they have to buy 1 pack and then wait to buy another to avoid any complications from the bank or ZOS. Many people when given a wait time don't bother making the purchase at all.

So allowing people to buy more makes sense, so they don't lose sales to people cooling off on the idea of the purchase.

In addition, some may increase the size of their purchase just to get a better deal.

This increased money by allowing people to buy large quantities is the reason the price gets cheaper as you buy more crowns. They make more money by people spending more than they normally would, over and beyond the cost of the discount.

This is the entire reason for bulk purchases existence. The companies make more money when you buy in bulk to get a discount. They aren't converting smaller purchases, they are converting lost sales into discounted sales.

Something to consider no matter how rich or poor you are, The Crowns in this game do not cost the proprietor anything significant IRL, so it's all profit for them. (ZOS in this case).

I've asked this before, whenever there is a sale I buy like 6-8 of the 21k packs. But I think this has to do with banking, and frauddetection. When suddenly huge amounts of money transfer, they could possibly get flagged, put on hold for suspicion, or get returned automatically.

I try to re-stock my crowns to 200k+ whenever there is a crown sale. As I like to buy all the houses and anything else I like. Just this week I have started working on a second home, going from a fully functional hew's bane palace to the darkbrotherhood sanctum home. Which requires some buying, test dummies, vampire amenities, the two mundus stones I use(too expensive to buy them all), and some other stuff.

You could afford to build a new real life home for the kind of money you're talking about spending on ESO.

I actually agree my bank hates when I make multiple big purchases , though $150 (90) isn't that much , they have locked me out of my own account before when I dropped $800 on a phone. I'm always paranoid of those multiple purchases, they should just let you select multiple on the shop. I would normally buy 3 of them on sale back to back but better wait a day or 2 between them.
