Which House Should I purchase?

I almost have enough gold to get one of the big houses and am debating about which one I want to get (I just need to save up a little less than $200k). Right now, I am thinking of getting the Daggerfall Overlook but wanted to see what the community would say. I am also interested in knowing why you recommend a specific house.

the only 2 other notable size houses i know which are available for gold are the coldharbour surreal estate and the haakvild high hall

coldharbour house actually only costs 1 mil gold but requires you to have finished the harborage questline (im assuming you have)

haakvild high hall costs the same as the 3 you listed, but requires achievement that needs you to have completed falkreath hold and bloodroot forge on vet difficulty

the coldharbour one is nice and cheap, but its basically an empty lot, and not everyone likes the aesthetics of coldharbour

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Of those the only one I kinda like is the Khajiit one. The house is a little small but the outdoor space is lovely.

I think the ones in the next tier down are a lot nicer and 1/3rd the price. Personally i like Mistveil Manor, Gardner House, Proudspire Manor and Alinor Crest Townhouse.

Remeber those huge ones you only have 700 slots to use, it's not a lot for what's essentially a palace. The ones i listed have a 600 slot limit and that's enough to have a lot of fun with them.

I would recommend using guildmates who have the homes you are interested in so you can view the homes and decide which you like. Each is very different in aesthetics and the available space's overall design. A poll in the forums will only tell you what we prefer.

Funny enough, the big reason I am thinking about the Daggerfall Overlook is that I like idea of the title.

Daggerfall overlook is a long way from the near wayshrine, which is only an issue when leaving. If you have other houses, you can always port outside them.

I have the first two, and prefer the Serenity Falls mostly because of the grounds. There are a lot of separate spaces outside that can be individually themed. The Overlook has one big courtyard. On the flip side, it has a basement, and Serenity does not, so more choices inside.

    Save more, and buy both!

Far from wayshrine is an important thing to consider.

Near a wayshrine. Ebonheart is too, but its right next to the Ebony Flask, a much cheaper, closer house to the wayshrine. Daggerfall is inconveniently located all around.

But it depends what you want to do with your house. One thing to keep in mind, with a lot of the older large and manor houses (like these 3), the lighting blows. Some you have to make look like a "Lamps R Us" store with how much light you have to put in them to see anything.

For me, my favorite manor is Ossa Accentium for furniture and decorating. Love it. But I use Doomchar Plateau as my crafting hub

eventually you will get to the point where you have them all lol

im currently up to 70 houses (all houses you can buy with gold, and then maybe a dozen crown houses that i really liked)

having all the houses is great for port options lol, but i havent hardly put any time to decorate any of them lol

Of the ones you mentioned my favorite is Serenity Falls. I've seen some really good Daggerfall Overlook homes though.

I think my favorite home of any in the game is Autumn's-Gate.

go with whichever best fits your character's race/alliance. as others have said, you can always go back and purchase another one, since these just require gold.

Daggerfall Overlook. Subjectively: gives the best title, has the best view (vast ocean, hills, forest, a beach, a sailing ship, almost always blue skies), great outdoor space (the courtyard and fountain is really nice), has a lovely forest ride to Daggerfall where multiple resource nodes and a treasure chest always spawn, has a stable master at the end of the path, is right around the corner from a Dolmen, and it's a CASTLE.

I have all three and Daggerfall is by far my favorite.

I don't know if you're taking unsolicited advice, but if you have access to the northern elseweyr DLC you can do that to get Hall of the Lunar Champion, which satisfies my needs at least.

I have Serenity Falls Estate and Daggerfall Overlook and I love them both. They do have very different aesthetics so it depends on what type of look you are going for.

I would love to get Ebonheart Chateau but the constant volcano sounds are very unpleasant.

Ebonheart was the first of many homes I have purchased and it is still my favourite. Nobody can tell you the best house to buy because among other things it boils down to what type of character you have (or are). For Dunmer Necromancer vampire EC is perfect but for characters of the light it would likely be unsatisfying.

    Ebonheart Chateau.
The Chateaux is currently my primary because if somebody wants a sneaky look it's one of my favourite decorating jobs.

In my mind it is my Vampires house and yes the vampiric stained glass windows fit over 90% of the windows perfectly and in turn fit well with it's Volcanic location. I've turned the outside into a forest using all the pretty coloured maple trees from the Luxury vendor too.

Of the other two I redid my Overlook for our guilds' Halloween Party last year so it's a bit out of place the rest of the year.

My Serenity was decorated shortly after housing released and needs a complete redesign but I lack any ideas as what to do with it atm.

There are so many nice Classic Houses too, I've basically just brought all the gold purchasable houses and then turned them into storage facilities!! 💕
    When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

The ebonheart one is right next to a volcano and doesn't have good lighting and the volcano is always in the background. Daggerfall is nice but not near a lot.
Serenity falls has a nice balance of outdoor and interior options for you to access, close to wayshrine and near a crafting trading hub.

I'm kinda a sucker for Khajiiti architecture, I've had this house for a few years and still not convinced there are better ones.

On the other hand, Ebonheart 1 ups Serenity in terms of space as far as I know, and location, but for me it's just that ugly older Dunmer look I can't get over.

As far as Daggerfall goes, it has ocean view which is nice and you can build down there. The outside is just too small for such a big house. I considered buying it recently, but that yard size made me change my mind.

To me, the outdoor spaces are even more important then the house. Serenity Falls has beautiful outdoor space with some water, a lovely barn/workshop, patio areas, house...as does it in a decent but not-too-large way!

It was between Ebonheart and Daggerfall for me. I chose Ebonheart even tho the constant thunder is a bit annoying because I could not get over the fact that right when you enter into the Daggerfall house there is a wall right there Infront of you, just hated the fact that I had to run around it.

The Coldharbour house is cool because you can create your own house there. There's some really gorgeous structural furnishings and it has a cool atmosphere.

Of strictly those 3 though, I'd go Daggerfall.
