NB's Ambush is a poor skill

Empower is now PvE only.
A skill that no one uses even if buffed was nerfed again.
Where is the salvation?

    They should start with making it able to gap close, so its basic function work. It need instant cast this delay make it fail to cast too many times.
    Moons and sands shall be your guide and path.

    It would be nice if it was an instant teleport, similar to shade. They could also add major breach from Mark Target and give that a better effect since it's kind of pointless to telegraph your attack with Mark.

    And before someone might say that's too op to have breach on teleport, consider that if I ambush or lotus fan, I'm literally telling the target to cc and kill me. That's why it needs to be strong, as it puts us in a position to die quickly.

    I would gladly trade the empower loss for an instant cast. It's ridiculous how dodgy this skill is to get off, especially with position desync in PvP. I get the whole problem with people teleporting on top of walls of keeps but I feel like there has to be another way to solve that. But then again, why is that a problem for teleport strike and not for flying blade which is instant cast?

    I used Lotus Fan on my Magblade for a while, but it's just... too clunky.

    Ambush on Stamblade? Why? I have Stampede as a gap closer already with less hassle.

    Flying blade has a cast time : projectile travel time, can't use the teleport until it hits

    But once it hits the cast is instant. I'm not trying to compare the two skills for utility. I'm saying that there isn't an issue with Flying Blade climbing walls with an instant teleport like there is for Ambush and I dont think it really makes sense why. That said, I've never attempted to use flying blade to climb a wall. It just dawned on me it's an instant cast and I don't believe it requires LOS either. (For the teleport not for the knife throw.)

    So crazy that it's deep into 2022 and this skill still has a cast time.

    Also, minor quibble but while they're at it the devs should lift the target cap of 6 from the Lotus Fan Minor Vulnerability as it somehow avoided being liberated like the Fear from Mass Hysteria.

    I think the whole teleport strike skill line could use some improvement with dual conditional based functionality. And the cast time should be removed on the base skill and the morphs.

    If the nightblade is invisible or hidden the skill shouldn’t break invisibility or hiding and does no damage but increases the next attack done within 3secs by X% damage.

    If the nightblade is not in invisible or hidden it should function as normal.

    Nightblades need better tools to get in to a target(s), the get out tools are pretty strong when used strategically. Allowing teleport strike not to break stealth would provide more mobility for nightblades to get to the chosen target quickly. And it would allow them have better overall mobility while in stealth or hidden. As players could move from one target to the next to span distances provided they can remain hidden.

    Because NB is a fast paced killer that goes in, kills and goes out. Oh wait... I'm having flashbacks from the past. Now anything lethal on NB has cast time, minmum travel time, loud warning sound and can be dodged. If NB got a delayed burst skill like curse or subterranean it would require 2 jumps, 4 LA and a turn before cast.... because you know.... NB are like ninjas and ninjas like parkour.

    TBH... NB balancing over the years has been like this - we take away your useful stuff, but give you some irrelevant buffs in a skill that nobody uses.

    I'd kill for an instant ambush that doesn't performs some weird pseudobuff function but allows you to move quickly and unnoticed... but it sounds too good to ever be implemented.

    Ambush should have a STUN. It’s in the name. With stun gone from SA and NB already struggling with bar space, why doesn’t this skill have a stun?

    Please no stun or any other additions and reworks until the skill is made less cumbersome to use in the first place.

    I would be fine with Ambush's cast time if it had a stun attached to it. Especially if it was an unblockable stun.

    It is even better to use flying blade from dual wield. At leat it gives major brutality/sorcery and stun the ennemy.

    So this skill has been completely abandonned by ZOS which even nerf it when nobody is asking for it.
    RIP another Nightblade skill.

    Thinking about it, I think Ambush should have gotten a guaranteed critical strike window after hitting the target, instead of Surprise attack, and left the stun on surprise attack alone.

    If they let you wind up a heavy attack during the cast time, and deliver that heavy attack on impact it would be perfect.
