If the combat team had run through one single clear of vDSR, or vRG with, or heck, even without, hardmodes, that is all it would have taken to silence our criticism of this patch.
The fact that it hasn't happened, after all the outcry about how absolutely terrible these changes have been, and the constant half-measure backpedaling ZOS has been forced to do leaves me with only one possible conclusion.
You can't.
This isn't an insult. For the most part, I can't (do the trial hardmodes) either, most of us can't. There isn't anything wrong with that, except when you're trying to balance the game around players that can. How can we be expected to trust your vision of the game when we can't even see that the impacts of the changes you're making are understood outside of a trial dummy or a spreadsheet?
This isn't EVE, ESO isn't played in a spreadsheet. Restore our trust by showing us that the patch works. Not just this time, every time.
Make your changes if you have to, but then actually play through recent content with them and show us!
And don't even get me started on PVP. The impact changes like this make to PVP can't even begin to be understood without hours of actual play. Has that been done? Has there been any actual internal PVP testing at all?
