Should Empower get its 40% damage increase to LA back?

Empower was always one of those "niche" (becasue sources of empower are not that common) buffs that good line-ups have a very high uptime on, but the more average players dont.

So if the goal is to reduce the skill gap, then I think this empower change is the right move. It raises the floor by enabling easy rotation builds to deal more damage, and lowers the ceiling at the same time.

Fully charged HA only would avoid MA meta some are fearing. and reign in lightning and resto staff dmg by not boosting first two ticks..

Absolutely not. LA are way to powerful, how can you have a LA (and weave) that acts like a HA, it makes no sense, and it delivers too much damage. A LA should be a light attack and delivers a small percentage of what a HA can do.

MA with empower is powerful too, I do like it (of course!), my understanding is that MA weave is a challenge to do, more so than LA weave. It will be interesting to see if this gets nerfed as it delivers lots of damage. A utube video showed someone (empower) parsing 99K with a restoration staff. I would link it here, but the author asked us not to link it.

Anyways, I am happy with Empower added to Oakensoul, and I will be using HA more often and I will try out MA weaving. Current changes to Oakensoul still make it weak, but it is better than week one changes.

I still think empower should affect Light attacks, at least in PVE. I'd be perfectly fine if the LA boost was PVE only like the HA boost is on the PTS.

You wanna cut the buff in half or something for LA, that's fine, but to just completely eliminate it makes too many skills and sets more or less useless.

Personally I like the Oakensoul Ring for at least one of my characters for PvE. I REALLY liked it when the buffs were the major versions but even I have to admit it seemed a bit too powerful. I still think I’ll like it in its new form. We’ll see! 💍

You talk as if Medium weaving is fun. And that a 99k parse with resto staff is legit a good idea or good thing for the game? Guess what, both things are not. They changed entire Empower for a ring? Or slapped it onto the ring god knows why. But honestly whatever you typed I disagree. Sure I understand a nerf to the effect Empower would have on LA and higher effect on HA. Or just change the entire buff to something none offensive or offensive but different thing. But now, the niche HA thing that enables entire medium weaving? Nah thanks. Esp the Resto staff shennanigans is wild.

The combat of ESO is loved for it's fast pace. Surely nobody wants medium weaving to be the meta. Make it viable, just like HA builds. But not meta. At least that's my take on it.

I feel like we're being trolled when the preface to the final PTS patch notes includes this: "We have also made several additional adjustments to class abilities and item sets – a bit more than we typically do in the final week of PTS testing – so we look forward to reading any additional feedback you have", yet not a single skill or set that gives it was adjusted to compensate for the huge nerf to Empower.

Welp, at this point it looks like Empower will go to live servers this way. I do feel like there have been some overall good improvements this cycle but this Empower rework without addressing the many skills affected by it is definitely a step backwards in my opinion, especially in PvP with skills like Ambush which just doesn't make any sense to use now.
