Week 3 no jabs/sweeps update, will you play templar if this isn't buffed?

Think I have to see. Jabs is a peculiarly strong skill in some ways because of the AoE and also because you can use it with sword/board to effectively mix highly defensive and offensive skills in one bar.

For PvP doesn't matter. It's only useful for killing people who are either asleep or new.

I have been playing Templar long since before jabs was any good, this doesn't affect me one bit.
My 4 Templars will find unique builds for them, as they always have.

Doesn't matter if templar is buffed or nerfed even further. It was my main, but I won't touch it with a 10-foot-pole unless they either make the new jabs animation better and make it feel good to use again, or they revert it back to the old animation. The new jabs animation is complete ass, was my favorite thing about templar. With the change, I see no point in playing it.

With my main dps being absolutely gutted, and my secondary dps being a magplar, I'm afraid I'll not be playing templar. But neither will I be playing another class.

The category missing was the "Will you play another Game" The answer is yes.

I was thinking that as well, "Where's the 'Done playing ESO?' option to vote?" Lolz

Mained Nightblade for seven years to recently clean slate it all over to beat Templar Main to complete all content in game. Was tired of being in the dumpster as a Mageblade for so long, I finally made the hop to get back on a couple months before High Isle dropped for my new unnerfable Breton Templar to prepare for the island of Bretons. Felt a breath of fresh air finally for a class which felt amazing to play with their synergies between ability and passive.

I'm sorry Templars for switching to you as a main. Dumpster Fires seem to follow my main characters around in ESO.

Done swapping. Exhausted of hammer nerfs with such little actual direction instead of fine tuning or buffing up other classes to be on par with Templar level was, especially their jabs.

Hopped on once since update 35 pts at beginning. Just thinking about playing the game is exhausting to me now and not fun.

Just wanted to say, this is the EXACT situation I was in.

Back when I first played, it didn't make sense in my head canon with Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild to be anything other than Nightblade, so I was MagBlade for the longest time, but played alts regularly with specific purposes and it was only until recently, after Account Wide Achievements that I mentally reconciled to accept a full main change and focus all into Templar, as wanted to concentrate on one, singular toon.

By comparison, Templar is Much more enjoyable and easier to play than MagBlade and offered more utility to those around me.

I made peace with ALLLLL those housing Praxis and recipes, all the motifs, fully trained mount, fully trained crafter not carrying across and spent crowns on my Templars additional wardrobe slots, and was content to do all the content from beginning to end, anew.

Now, they've decide to change the one class defining ability that comes to mind when you think about Templars, and not just mechanically, but visually, to something awful.

I'm so done. I've got a few big houses to decorate and that's all this game amounts to for me now.

I have played Templar from the beginning, 2014. I always swore that if they broke my Templar, I'd be done with ESO. It's simple. It's my main and will always be. If I can't get any more achievements with my main, I'll give it up altogether. I can log in once a day and do a random. But I certainly don't need an Eso+ subscription for that. And no new DLCs either.
You may think that is stubborn and inflexible, but you have to set priorities. And my main character is my priority.
Reducing the damage of the class a bit is ok. But what you have done with it is just completely exaggerated.
I really hope you reconsider the changes to the Templar, I would hate to give up the game.

No, But I don't think I will be playing much at all if this goes live. I'm already struggling to be motivated to log in. I don't like the oakensoul changes either. My sub ran out 2 days ago and I won't renew until I see what direction they are going with these changes. Might be a good time to take a break for a while.

If you've played since 2014, then you've played with dozens of different versions of Jabs/Sweep. And the vast majority of them were far weaker than what we have on live, and even U35.

    You're definitely exaggerating.

OP: It's week 3 why no updates on Templar class?

It’s Week 4 now, one more patch since OP posted, and not only have we gotten no help so far, but they’ve forgotten to unnerf one of our two ground spammables for the second week and we got another major nerf today with the change to Empower. The pessimism seems eminently justified to me. (ETA: other classes have seen adjustments just this week as well, e.g. Warden, so it was absolutely not the case that class updates would only come in the last week.)

ZOS has actually (iirc) failed to use the word templar at all outside the context of nerfs this cycle with the exception of the reversion of Spear last week. If we don’t even merit a mention in their notes of what’s to come alongside magdens, magsorcs, and magblades, it gives the impression that anything we might get next week is not worth mentioning and that they don’t consider our concerns worth acknowledging. I hope I’m wrong and that templars get something to address the many things we’ve lost this cycle so far, but in the meantime the specific mentions of other classes and the continued silence regarding templars is concerning.

Yes, but it has never felt so definitively broken. Especially also because of the unnecessary change of the jabs animation. Besides, I'm tired of the eternal changes and I'm not alone in that, as you can read everywhere.

I'd be honest and there's probably no changes that would make me play same as before next patch, there's no direction at all and any change would just poof now especially when they're so rushed and decisions aren't thought out at all. It's pointless to wait for a "firm" game state but it's better than frustration cycle we have now.

It really is not funny. Whyle NB and sorcs have OP skilles templars jabs look quite normal on their background. It was melee, good and not to OP.

So not OP skills was nerfed again, when classes with really OP skills do not get real changes.

And if they nerf other classes, why those 2 are not nerf ?

It do not even look fair. Jabs is not skill that decerve nerfs.

May be spear that stun in block and ignore deffs looks strange, but jubs are ok i think.

    What a biased poll, useless!

On Templar I will continue to stick with jabs for the ease of it in almost every content scenario that allows for good melee uptime. If it doesn't, jabs haven't been the go to skill anyway. And honestly - this doesn't even necessarily change for score pushing or trifecta stuff as well - not saying Templars don't do this stuff. But depending on the content, you would like to bring other DPS then templars.

It wasn't untrue to say the new jabs/sweeps is inferior to other spammables. It was proven, mathematically.
Other than that, I don't really find this poll to be biased.

And to the others who pointed out it was week 4, not week 3, thanks...I forgot it was week 4. We will see what comes in week 5 but it looks bleak currently.

As a templar main since the start, I welcome the change to make jabs less overloaded. It was only an "iconic" class skill because it was made pretty much mandatory for damage dealers, it was like half the class synergies piled on a single skill.

Ultimately that made it a strong skill, but not a fun one, at least not to me.

I never liked the spaghetti blob visuals either so I am glad it got an overhaul, I think the new one looks pretty good. So well, eye of the beholder I guess.

Animation aside, I can see some value to shortening the cast time of Jabs to 0.8 seconds, for ease of weaving.

To nerf both Jabs damage and Burning Light damage seems excessive. If they are going to nerf the damage of one of those, I'd rather see BL nerfed.

But don't touch the class spammable's damage.

Jabs feel worse than sweeps already after patch they will be useless i play stamplar from the begining of the game and current feeling of jabs are worse. This skill deal damage if you have minimum 18000 armor penetration and i still have 6000 weapon damage. With nerfs in next patch this thing will become noob slayer ability only. Good to know I've got a twinner in here. Coming to peace with fresh slating when my Nightblade was grand crafter+, all furnishings, recipes, and story content done.... Wasn't easy on the slightest, but Templar simplicity in their synergy breathed new life (didn't intend the skill pun) into the game for me. Could just come home and enjoy content instead of having to get sweaty with a rotation on a Mageblade with swallow soul or conceal weapon to take a group of 3 npcs down in 5 seconds instead of crashing into them with a spear charge and they disappear in a second.

Getting too old to come home to a second job which time is dedicated to enjoying a game and world I love.
