PTS Dungeon feedback. Graven Deep Veteran

Played Graven Deep on veteran yesterday with a few guildies. Here is some feedback.
Team comp was 2 good players (Gryphon Heart and/or Godslayer) and 2 decent players (vet raids, some easier HMs), I'd say we could pretty easily get dungeon Trifectas pretty easily besides 1 or two hickups on Live. Our tank was also running very damage-optimized gear for us DDs to shine but with the nerfs on PTS, both DDs saw a reduction of 15-20k real-life DPS on bosses.

The first boss we tried a few times on HM.
The main mechanic with hella of movement felt decently balanced, it hurt and would kill you if you stood in 2 or more hits but it wasn't a 1-shot. As there were many damaging circles flowing around it wasn't the easiest to deal with but that wasn't the biggest of problems. Get to that in a minute.

The "gimmick" mechanic on this boss was that a random person would get a Timer/Synergi on them. Once that expired or the synergy was used on NORMAL ground it left a DOT area you really shouldn't step in. You could, however, use this Synergi on top of an ADD BURROW and it would kill the add (do about 400?k damage) and the DOT area wouldn't spawn.
This mechanic was okay, sometimes there weren't any adds or burrows up so you simply had to drop it on the sides, which is fine.


The problem was the tank mechanic/dot which ticked way too hard. We couldn't identify how/where he would get it but it would tick about 8-11k. Which on a stationary fight is fine and manageable for the tanks self-healing and the healer's healing, this fight, however, is NOT stationary.

If either the tank or the healer got the Synergi dot they had to move, if the boss was jumping around they had to move, the boss acted like a freaking basketball. This mechanic while probably doable with a more tanky setup just hit like a truck. Mix that in with an add throwing stuff at the tank, damage circles stunning the healer for 1 sec and the tank having to drop of the dot and it was a hard time.


We went back to normal Vet and it was a 1-shot. There was only 2? adds spawn, we had Synergies to deal with both, and the 3rd synergy we left on the side. The boss didn't jump around like a basketball and the tank dot hit for less than 2k. Probably one of the easiest bosses on vet in a while.


2nd boss BIG BONE BOI. Not a lot to say here. He got bigger and smacked harder. Our tank wanted to try to tank it and so he did. We killed 1-2 blue ghosts before they hit the boss and the boss fell over after hitting the tank for 90k.

3rd boss The Lich.
2 One-shot mechanics in a non-HM fight. This one wasn't very fun.
First, there are water bubbles that spawn on 2 out of the 4 outer platforms that gotta be hit by a LA. They start in the roof and slowly fall downwards. This in itself isn't a problem but the other mechanics makes this a chore I can't imagine pugs will have a fun/easy time dealing with. We had the healer be on "Entrance" duty for orbs and the tank + 1 DPS with inferno staff on the other platforms.

I think this is the first Group-wide 1-shot mechanic in any normal vet boss as of yet, talk about power creep While there are bosses with "death walls" and such they are very noticeable and scream "DEATH", these small water orbs don't.

Then the boss had a Cone attack towards the tank, this is nothing new and quite fine...if it can be blocked. This one however is HUGE, pretty much something you expect from a Trial boss, not a dungeon one. It also hits for 80-90k which makes it semi-non-blockable, especially if the healer is dealing with other mechanics. It was easily dodged but rolling moves the boss a bit and we had instances where it would clip a dumb DD or two.

Boss splits into 4 ghosts each with about 200k HP. They each channel and then cast a group attack that does 8k, can be interrupted, this is fine....if not for the 1-shot orbs spawning while this is going on. Makes this phase last longer if a DD is forced to go smack an orb instead of killing the healers/tanks Ghost. This is technically an immunity phase.

The shadow phase was fine? Didn't hurt too bad, not sure what actually killing the shadow bolts did, there was no good indicator. We just did it, no one died. Also an immunity phase

At 50% or around 4.1m HP the boss spawns an ad, a Flesh Abomination that ALSO got about 4m hp. It hit hard but outside of that it's just an annoyance. Boss splits, 1-shot orbs keeps spawning yadayada.


Overall on veteran, the first two bosses feels much easier than Shipwright and Coral we got the last patch while the Lich (3rd) boss is just too much.
Lich boss has too many 1-shot orbs spawning, over a whole fight we talking 20+ orbs that one fail will wipe the group, with a HP pool of 8.2 million with 3 immunity phases AND a 4m add the fight is a slog and very unforgiving for a non-HM boss. If the orbs spawned every 10% instead, Flesh add had 1.5-2.5m HP not 3.8m, I think it could be a fun fight.
The boss shouldn't have this amount of HP with 3 immunity phases.

I want to see all the bosses on HM live but I don't wanna fight the Lich with what I assume would have 16m hp...


I think the dungeon looks good, the mini-games for the off-side bosses were fun and the loot is strong but looks awful.

    i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them
