I have chars of every class. 2 of some. templar is one of those. and of all the class skills I have ever used. jabs feels the most overpowered... that thing is ridiculous..

weren't there parses where it did 40k dps by itself?

as a dual templar player. the only thing surprising about this nerf is how in the everlasting joy did it take that long..

Jabs damage was pretty much the only reason Templar saw any use in endgame as melee DPS over another class, since other classes provide much more utility.

Now there's yet again no reason to use the class except as one of the healers.

I’ve had a 110K+ magplar for the last 2 patches now and everyone still seems to want me on Blade, DK or Cro. All this talk about jabs cleave damage is laughable, DK and Cro just do cleave better. Blade still better than plar in exe due to channel on beam, also more mobile and better sustain. The way people are talking about jabs/sweeps here is like it’s the superior spamable, it’s not. It was however the most thematically fit and aesthetically pleasing.

Blade is a much harder rotation, it got nerfed to hell during the eswyer patch and constantly struggles for dps compared to many other classes. You have to be an excellent player to make a 95k parse on a blade, in large part because of bow proc. It is very unforgiving and must maintain variable rotation otherwise you lose a ton of dps. Templars on the other hand tend to have a very high floor and a mid tier player is generally able to get an 80k rotation without much trouble. One my buddies who is currently on the vdsr leaderboard (no.9 I think) mains a templar and is hitting well over 110k dps. Blades are good gankers in pvp, a lot of their skills are just designed around it but ultimately struggle in pve just based on raw numbers. Skinny cheeks has a good breakdown by class. Necro is, however, an incredibly strong class to run and has been for a good while and beat blades by a mile in raw power and utility.

There is a point to be made about Jabs being the superior spammable in that stamplar, for example, (and to a lesser degree magplar) is widely recognised as a one-button "easy mode" class/spec, because you lose DPS by using other abilities. But this also puts something of a hard cap on the class using only two abilities, while other classes can, indeed, outperform in total DPS. Templar, for a long time, required considerable less effort.

However, just as the first post by @virtus753 in the first linked topic said, there's no compensation here for Jabs becoming weaker. Which is probably the worst part for Templars, as Jabs/Sweeps effectively carried the class in terms of DPS. With this in mind, Templars is/will be one of the worst overall hit.

Like ZoS you are trying to solve the spreadsheet problem while Jaz is trying to explain the Are Templars Fun To Play problem.

That's basically the abstract for this entire patch. "No fun, only spreadsheet! Crippling nerfs will continue until morale improves."

This. This was the moment I lost all faith in zos and their ridiculous spreadsheet.
"Resources restored from fully charged Heavy Attacks have been streamlined to grant an average of approximately 1350 resources based on their total cast time and cooldown, rather than varying values with no standardization.
Two Handed and Volendrung now restore 2425 Stamina, down from 2426. "

Jabs was overperforming in PvP - It drastically needed a nerf.
