These changes are such a shame

I have played since closed beta and thoroughly loved it and seeing the game change and grow in a lot of ways. from Nerfmire to the combat team changing over i got to see it all unfold.

This patch is single handedly one of the worst things ive ever witnessed to hit ESO. Every time the games balance seems to get to a reasonable place it lasts for 3-4 months before the combat team (especially this combat team) tries to completely wipe the slate clean like they are creating a brand new game. I am unsure if its the combat team desperately trying to vindicate there value by massively swinging the pendulum/combat changes each patch or if its the devs just randomly throwing darts at a board and proceeding to change whatever was on the dart board, there truly does not seem to be any logical reasoning of doing some of the changes other then just to say that they are doing changes. Working at a game store I get to talk to a lot of people (especially about ESO) and the main thing that turns everyone off (that I have talked to atleast) is they create a character, get there build to a nice spot and a few weeks later they can no longer do the content they were previously able to due (From all of the MASSIVE and FREQUENT changes). Its interesting that by trying to spice things up for new players its actually having the opposite effect. No one wants to respec there CP or grind new gear every few weeks/months.

The disconnect between what the Developers say there intentions are vs what their changes actually equal out to Vs what the actual player base wants is extremely disheartening.

I dont normally post on the forums or doom say but this truly does seem like the end of an era. And I cant be the only one who was so stoked to play when high isle came out and continued playing until reading the PTS notes to find ZoS has not learned anything and perpetually ropes people in with content such as an expansion with mythics and such only to completely revoke/destroy all changes*cough* vampirism *cough*

Now that Week 3 has hit it seems pretty clear cut they are not going to revert the other changes or tone the nerfs to Light attacks/heavy attacks down (I would've thought atleast Heavy attacks since others with disabilities benefitted from those builds). LA/HA were not mentioned even once in the latest notes, along with no context regarding how muffed werewolves will be now.

For all of Blackwood (And most of Greymoor) I was doing purely overland stuff. Not venturing into any instanced content other than delves and housing.

Got the oak ring and started trying group content again.

Now that oak will be gone, I will just go back to overland.

I get the message from zos, they don't want me doing dungeons or trials, and I am used to not doing that content. So...

I dont think the ring is really justification for players to not run content more like most players are just not willing to invest time into finding away/learning how todo the content oaken was massively over performing in pvp and pve while I'm not sure if it's current iteration is the best solution it's better than what we had balance wise

Some people literally can not do higher content. A lot of both older and disabled people play ESO. They gave them an ideal tool to make their life easier allow them to see new content, whilst still being weaker than a 2 bar setup.

I took a lot of people in to content they could not have done before. I have never come across a game that deliberately made stuff harder for the elderly and disabled and yet ZoS.....

Not sure where you are getting the overperforming from in PVE, it didn't. It is nowhere close to a 2 bar build and is mearly a fun toy for top end players.

In PVP there was definitely problems, which is why we asked, multiple times, for it to be rendered useless in PVP.

There is a certain level of arrogance assuming people can not enter content because they don't try hard enough. Some won't, but not all. Please have a little consideration for those physically unable to do content, who were given a lifeline which was then snatched away.

You people make it seem like 99% of the players who play this game are disabled.

I am not disabled I just lack confidence. I know this, the harrsh requirements in wow raiding has sapped any degree of any confidence out of me. And there was a time in eso when I was doing content many would consider difficult. But all that time I always felt I was the one holding the group back, that I was the weakest link. The trial group fell apart and I stopped doing that type of content.

I got the ring and it felt good. I felt I could carry my own so I started doing dungeons, which I have not done in a long time.

But I have been on the PTS. I can feel how long it now takes for me to down mobs. I don't know if, it's my build or my gear, whatever. But I give up. Overland is fine for me.

I am disabled thanks. A lot of my friends are disabled or just older players Luckily my disability does not hinder my gameplay, just the time I can be at a computer.

There are a lot of people in game with issues. It is nice you don't really care.

You were not alone in that, people don't like to be carried through content, the ring made them feel useful, whilst also allowing to experience new things.

The new version of the ring just not very good and follows ZoS's usually form of nerfing the newest mythic once they have enough sales of an expansion.

It was a pointless nerf when all that needed doing was disabling it in PVP

The craziest part about massive balance changes is that they're constantly swinging the same things back and forth. There are so many morphs (and for that matter, 100s of sets) that not only go completely unused but have literally never been touched, changed, or buffed to any semblance of usability.

Valuable time and effort goes into nonsensical and hyperbolated changes and it really doesn't make sense given the context of lesser used, weaker, and rarely seen things that they could be balancing.

Seeing 8.1.2 I can tell that the game will need many more balance iterations past PTS cycle.
