Inquisitio
Hello,

After i press "Play" the game launches but after few seconds crashes, showing "The Elder Scrolls Online has quit unexpectedly". I've already tried redownlading and repairing launcher. Cheers.

Try running the game as an administrator and seeing if that fixes the crash.

You can do this by right-clicking the Launcher and selecting "Run as Administrator"

Ensure that you are running the latest version of DirectX.

You can make sure you have the latest version by following the steps on Microsoft's Support Site (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113)

If that doesn't fix it, lets try editing the UserSettings.txt. The default location for that would be My Documents/The Elder Scrolls Online/Live

Open UserSettings.txt in Notepad and then locate the string SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11" and change "D3D11" to "OpenGL"

You can hit Ctrl + F and paste in SET GraphicsDriver.7 to find the string easier.

After you've made that change Save and close Notepad and try launching the game again.

Hey, so, I'm having the same problem and it's driving me crazy. I have updated the graphics drivers (Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760), I have uninstalled/deleted all files and re-installed the game, I have run as admin (with and without the fire wall being active) AND added the UserSetting.txt to the Elder Scrolls Online folder in documents... For the love of all the gods of Cyrodiil, ZOS_RobertM, help me! You are my only hope!

I'm having the same problem, i hit the Play Button and the game runs, so after the login, there is a cut scene, and goes to the caracter creation screen (i think), after 5 - 10 seconds, the message pops on the screen and the game stops working. I thought it was my VGA, but seems like a lot of players are having the same issue. Give us a light, please. Thanks!

I am having same crash problem... only it happens when I quit the game. I have Zero problems while playing, but anytime I quit the game for the day/night, it gives me the "game has crashed" error message. While this does not affect my gameplay, it is worrisome that it is a future problem waiting to happen. Please let me know what might be the problem here.

I've been getting this crash about every 20 - 120 minutes, for the last two days. It's infuriating beyond belief. Updated to the 337 Nvidia drivers a couple days ago. Figured rolling them back might help. It didn't seem to change anything. All I know is I have logged on and off today alone (about 4-5 hours of game time) at least 27 times.

I am experiencing this crash as well -- it first appeared at the Bloodthorn Assassins Quest, then Daggerfall Castle, & various places in Glenumbra. Once the crash starts, there is no way to progress without reviving @ a Wayshrine & skipping the quest entirely. I have Windows 8.1 64 bit, Direct X 11.2, latest drivers & BIOS .... Any suggestions?

Has anyone found the solution? I still haven't even gotten to play, just get the same message every time and I do have the lastest verson of Direct X

Well, in my case, the only solution was to buy another Graphic Card.
I've tryied all the tips of this forum, but no success.
Yesterday i've tryed to run the game with an GTX-650, and it worked with 0 bugs or crashes. You can try all this things that didn't work for me.

    Didn't work list:

-Run as admin (through the launcher or not)
    -Troubleshooting compatibility
    - Edit UserSettings.exe (D3D9 to OpenGL)
    - Reinstall the game (Downloading by Europe or USA)
    - Repair the launcher
    - Turn off the auto-updates in the launcher
    - Erase stuff in HarDisk to gain way more then 20% of free space
    - Msconfig clean boot
    - Update Graphic drivers
    - Role back to old graphic drivers
    - Uninstall Graphic control center (My case CATALYST CONTROL CENTER)
    - Plug cable to see if was a WI-FI issue
    - Set graphics to lower and ultra
    - Set game to windowned mode
    - Format Windows

Sorry for zombie thread, but this is the top hit on google so wanted to post what worked for me:

I read on a different forum that updating Intel HD graphics driver worked for someone, so I checked, and sure enough, my AMD motherboard also had stock graphics drivers that were out of date. I downloaded updated motherboard drivers and that did the trick!
