thinking of become a healer, what class should i chose?

I prefer Warden, just because they have a lot group buffs, good sustain and lots of heal over time. I also really like the theme of the skills too. Secondarily, I would suggest a nightblade healer, loads of sustainability and are more offensive than the other healers.

I have played healer on all classes, so they’re all fun in their own way. I played templar for eons, and while it’s a good starter kit, I lost interest as soon as wardens came out. I do enjoy necromancer healers, especially with some of their burst aoe heals and rez utility. Dragonknights are mechanically interesting but I think not ideal. I didn’t enjoy healing on sorcerer.

NB but they balance that out somewhat next patch. NB brings status effects best for penetration

I can't speak for trials, but in vet dungeons, Wardens and Necromancers are both harder to manage than any of the other classes. Wardens have a lot of aimed heals, while Necromancers have to manage their corpses. All of the other classes are more mechanically forgiving.

On the other hand, Wardens and Necromancers also provide the most group utility, so there's a tradeoff.

I heal vet dungeons with an orc magdk, and with a non dk tank it's great. For normals I can tank and heal them because I've got the toughness of the DK and healing is simply not that demanding (especially with arena resto staffs)

In other words - except for hard vet content you can ignore the meta and have fun. It might be a little bit harder dk healing or nightblade tanking but there's not a lot it ultimately matters for.

I think Templar is easier to play than Warden for healing. I might be biased by my own experience though as I was healing on my Templar long before the Warden existed. The Warden felt kind of clunky to me but that might be because I was used to the Templar and hadn't adjusted yet.
I think you have to time things better with a Warden.

Either way both classes can easily over heal the groups so the real differences to consider are in providing buffs for the group.

Doesn't matter.
Class is irrelevant for everything.
With the right sets and weapon skills, healing (and any role really) is a synch.
Sure, certain classes can bring unique gimmicks that will help out in the most dire and sub-optimal circumstances, but there's no specific class that must be played in order to be an effective healer.
I've been playing my one class / spec to rule them all nightblade since forever, and I don't even have to change morphs or CP points. I just change skills & gear.

I would say Nightblade healer but thats just my personal opinion.

It all depends, playing with friends and want to optimize your group? Playing with PUGs that die a lot and they hit like wet noodles?

Example: my group we go me as necro tank, 2dd nightblades and 1 healer nightblade. The healer goes dd most of the time in our trifecta runs.

As necro tank I use saxhleel, master architect and symphony. Most of the time we burn through all mechanics. My "3dd" friends where crazy good and it felt like they where carrying me most of the time.

Not saying it's impossible, just they deserve buffs. They are behind the others.

I find healing is somewhat easier as mistakes, like DD/dps mistakes, are easily overlooked; tank errors are usually VERY noticeable.

otoh, if you know the mechanics then I'd say tanking is easier since it's set/mechanic: do it. In contrast I find healing tends to be both proactive and reactive. If you're very comfortable with mechanics for vet 4-player content then you can be flexible in your tank/healer setup to deliver additional damage.

Another +1 for warden healer but I have less experience of playing them but they seem smoother and buffier (if that's a word?). Templar is easy and just works. nb are fun and may bring more utility after next update.

For healing vet trials your trial leader will probably (and understandably) want to see some logs of your healing/buff uptimes; there will likely be constraints on race/class/sets/abilities, too. 'Social' guilds are usually considerably more relaxed about requirements.
