I'm curious. What does everyone do with their alt Champs? Do you repeat every quest from the beginning? Just the main ones? No old quests? DLC's? Thanks all!

My main main (derp), a DK, did pretty much almost all quests and lost count how many times he saved Tamriel. I created my second main (derp) because I couldn't pass an opportunity to have a necro. I don't have much patience to repeat all those quests, so his story is that he's a grumpy recluse who doesn't care and would rather leave the world-saving to his DK cousin. The downside is he can't visit a major city without being accosted by a bunch of Stuga-like NPCs.

I only have 2 champs and they are both Templars. There was awhile after launch where they let some of us who had done beta transfer a copy of our character to console. I try and be a completionist on both though.

    Similar to above:

AWA meant that I pretty much do nothing beyond getting the bare skills needed on alts

There is no point me getting achievements again, this resulted in my logging in less and less often, mainly for groups with friends or prog.

Ingame time is well under 50% of what it was as I literally have nothing to do now.

I really don't understand why they have to approach you and, even worse, scream at you all the time. The latest annoying addition is an npc advertizing the card game in Davon's Watch (and probably all other starting zones). His voice is particularly unnerving.

Most of them I just prioritized leveling up for daily writs, have made a point to get one of each class combat ready over the years though.

Don't really do many quests on my alts though at most a few have done their factions alliance zones main quest lines but not much more than that, I just don't find the story's compelling enough to go back through everything again and again on each character.

That all said I have pretty much gone back to just playing on my main, rarely log into my alts lately, with the AWA changes it makes it a real pain to figure out what you have done on each alt and what you have left to do.

Main character (Imperial) does everything. Dark Elves do Vvardenfell, Nords do Greymoor and The Reach, Orcs do Orsinium, Khajiit do Kitty Fun Land, etc. Still waiting on a large quest zone for Argonian (murkmire is small), Bosmer, and Redguard.

(I was against AwA, by the way, because I sometimes did like looking at achievements to see the progress of a character - for me, it's not a main reason for playing, though.)

I liked getting the Emperor achievement on different classes and races, but ZOS killed it for me when my characters could no longer get the achievement, and instead could just select it from a drop down menu.

I guess you could replay content on a different character for nostalgia reasons, but it's not the same for people who consider each character to be a unique individual, and not just one player driving a different set of pixels around Tamriel, which is how ZOS wants us to view it. ZOS apparently doesn't see any reason for us to start from scratch on a new character any more, as they are only granting one time achievements. And that's not the game I signed up to play years ago.

I have 15 characters, all Champs. I'm working through all the quests on all of them (free XP, right?). I'm done with... five? I think?

I'm currently working on one of my tank characters with the Oakensoul Ring (my first and so far only mythical item lmao) before the dreaded nerfs, because after those drop I'm fairly certain his damage output will be even more pathetic than it is now.

I take roleplaying quite "seriously" and my characters tend to have much too elaborate backstories, but I don't really see how achievements matter that much in that regard. Of course it's awful that achievements are shared, and I think there are also a few encounters that can be completed only once for the whole account (unless that has been fixed meanwhile), and what especially annoys me is that delves show as completed already at arrival if you have already completed them with a different character. I find AwA completely awful and it is reducing the fun of it all, and of course I'd be happiest if they could just revert it to the way it was before (Although they said they couldn't for technical reasons, I think?) - but in the end, I, personally, still can enjoy playing with side characters. I just try to ignore the achievement list, the nonsensical accountwide titles (of course it makes no sense that a character can be proclaimed "Hero of..." whatever place when never having ever set a foot on that region) and all the other downsides AwA brought, so it won't spoil my fun; at least story quests still do work. And that's what matters most to me, no achievement or title lists. I just ignore them now. Even if I could assign a character the "Hero of Summerset" title, if I know he has never been there, well, he just isn't for me and I just ignore the title in his list.

Collecting skill points, starting from public dungeon events, then slowly traveling through zons and collecting other skyshards.
I mostly make them crafters and many SP are needed. (maxing out craft, reserching traits for better chances of master writs)

I also have some alts for fun, that have specific handicaps (rules).
    - one is a beast and has never used any item (armor, weapon, jewlery),
    - other is an old dude, who never runs and only walks the slowest way possible in ESO (playing with him is even harder :)
    - one gets her XP and gear only from dungeons that she visits (doing them in a duo with a friends' alt with same rules),
    - one doesn't kill but she steals and plays cards.

    It depends on the character.

I have 4 I'd broadly describe as general purpose PvE characters (although my main has done PvP as well) and they will eventually do all the open-world quests and exploration stuff, public dungeons and delves and other things like that. They're all at different points and going through it in different orders according to the stories I have in my head for them, so I don't end up doing the same things 4 times in a row, it's always been a while (sometimes a few years) between repetitions for me.

Two of them do dungeons as well, but the other two probably won't because I don't play my sorcerer enough to know the skills well and my nightblade has a weird build which I enjoy but wouldn't expect anyone else to deal with.

My other characters are more specialist. One is a crafter who mostly stays in town except for collecting surveys, he's done a little bit of PvE for skill points and because he was created before One Tamriel and I needed to level him up to get surveys.

One was created specifically for tanking in groups, but she's also become my main event/misc activity character because she's not doing any of the main stories and her backstory is that she's a mercenary and also wildly impulsive, so it's easy for me to justify her skipping around the world to do whatever I need doing.

One is my dedicated 'evil' character: a necromancer, vampire, Thief, Assassin, psychotic mass murderer who when he does complete quests picks the options I want to see the outcome from but wouldn't pick on any of my other characters because it sounds terrible.

And the last one is a bit of an experiment: he's not using any magic, not just skills which use magicka but anything which look like magic. (The one exception I'm allowing is when a quest tells you to destroy something and your character uses a spell animation to do it, because there's often no practical way to know which quests will do that and which have them pull a hammer or axe from no where or use a standard heavy attack or whatever.) So far he's just been doing starter island quests and exploration, I don't have any real plan for him yet, I'm just seeing what works.

AWA hasn't affected my plans for any of my characters because if I did something for the achievement it was to unlock the dye or a costume or whatever, and those were already account wide. I think I'm too used to games with no achievements or ones tied to the system they're on so they can only be done once per account anyway, until I saw people posting about it here it never occurred to me to use achievements to keep track of what a character had done and I rarely looked at the achievement menu.

Depends what they are for. The story much less now as AWA wrecked the tracking of what you've done per toon. No problem with AWA just the way they vandalised the existing tracking.

Often I just run the few min/maxed storylines for skill points, so speedrun clockwork city, the reach, the first half of southern elsweyr (quick skill points before the tedious stuff with the blocks), particularly for characters intended for PvP or particular roles.

My alt account they spend most of their time maxing out bag capacity so I can use them as a bank.

Unfortunately, I'm one of those players that hates to see unfinished things on my map. I'm running into the issue where I have no patience to do everything all over again with a new toon. I want to keep leveling up, but that is leaving me with just doing the same boring dailies or grinding. I've tried making new characters with other classes, but I don't like they way they play. Maybe I just need a new game. Thanks for all your responses! Best community ever!

I don't have alts or mains, as I see it, just a bunch of characters who have been created at different times. There are, however, something like two ranks to them. Most of the characters are "keepers" that I intend to play more or less extensively. Those I take through the main quest and their respective alliance quest lines. The reason for that is partly so that things unlocked by the main quest lines would become so (especially the enemy-infested towns of AD quest-line, which peeve me), partly because of the big experience and skill point haul.

To resolve the inherent problem with having different characters who presumably inhabit the same time-space (because they share the bank, collectibles etc.), I have this headcanon where the "canonical" hero of each storyline is the one who completed it first. Thus, my Altmer sorceress is the "true" Vestige on my account, a female Nord DK the "real" hero of the Pact etc. Even this mental ranking I do only because timeline problems tend to irk me in an overblown way if I think about them too much.

Then there are "experimental" characters and those who wouldn't really be fitted roleplay-wise to do those questlines. For instance, I think I'll let my assassin character remain a writ/daily quest drone and maybe PvP grunt after finishing the DB questline. That's because a heartless killer just isn't the heroic type the main and alliance quests assume the character be. So some characters only play through a chapter/DLC or two and those side quests which suit their theme.

As for chapter stories, I play those with characters with whom they make the most sense (like Summerset with magical types). For instance, I think I'll play Blackwood with all my Imperials just because it fits perfectly with that race. That chapter suited also my Breton sorceress because of the whole Oblivion and magical secrets thing.

No quests now (unless need to unlock a skill line) except for Dungeon quests sure, as they are for skill points. Two have redone the main story prior to AwA.

Only Dungeons,Thieving, PvP or Trials now... I have 15 max level characters, still finishing the last 3.

I turn off quest tracker, and see quest icons, icons on compass now.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. I've always done everything on my DK, so AwA changed so little for me at first that it took me a while to grasp I no longer needed pursue certain achievements on my necro (I was slowly making him my second grand master crafter, for some reason...). It's nice that titles are shared account-wide, though I still find it hilarious that my level 4 mule can prance around with vet trial titles. I just wish achievement furnishings from Cyrodiil had been unlocked for all as well.
