Alternative for Accessibility - 4 Skills per Bar

One of my takeaways from the PTS patch notes was that ZOS is trying to make ESO combat more accessible to new/less experienced players via increasing the duration of almost all DoTs. I understand their logic behind this: needing to cast different skills less frequently in a rotation does make the rotation easier to execute. However, many people have already voiced their concerns about the viability of DoTs in different types of content, and it seems that their use will be more niche rather than a staple of the game (as it has been).

Instead of implementing these drastic changes to combat across both PvE and PvP, I think there is a better way to increase accessibility to the combat system in ESO: remove one of the active skill slots from the skill bar. By removing 2 skill slots (front & back bar), this would still accomplish what longer duration DoTs do (which is reduce the number of different skills that need to be cast within a rotation), but it also doesn't take away the importance that casting and maintaining DoTs currently has in almost all content. Timers would be able to remain the same. The core composition of class rotations could remain the same. People would essentially just have 2 fewer DoTs to keep up (in PvE scenarios at least). This would still result in more spammables per rotation but not nearly as many as PTS patch note changes do.

Personally, I think this would be a good compromise between what ZOS wants (increasing accessibility to combat) and what many players want (not these major, sweeping changes to simplify combat). What are your thoughts? Would losing two skill slots be worse in your eyes?

Gods no - the current limit is absurd and only exists as they tried to create some sort of console-ized MMO - Skyrim - MOBA mash-up that is 'different' just to be different.

    Groupfinder:
The worst part is when it finally puts you in a group, your healer turns into a werewolf, your tank has 14k HP and the dps is heavy armor, using a restro staff and a two handed sword on the backbar. Then comes the 15 minute penalty before the cycle starts anew.

    Rulz of Morrowind:
    • The first rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • The second rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • Third rule of Morrowind: Someone yells NDA stuff, uploads images, streams, the game is over.
    • Fourth rule: only invited players can test.
    • Fifth rule: one invite at a time, fellas.
    • Sixth rule: crying or bashing on pts.
    • Seventh rule: NDA will go on as long as they have to.
    • And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first invite at Morrowind, you have to play.
