Parse numbers on PTS

Just your friendly reminder that with the new PTS they added Major slayer, increased penetration values, and added minor courage to the trial dummy. Assuming the application of this was successful this would inflate DPS metrics by 10-14%+ leading to the damage numbers being misleading when comparing between U34 and U35. Felt it'd be good to share this as I'd seen some sharing parses of 100k+ would actually be around 90k if these additions were not included.

I assume a positive nature of this was adding more commonly used raid buffs to the dummy, however, there is an argument made that this could've been done to mislead the player base for the metrics seen to not be "as bad" as it could've been type situation.

Which would be a silly argument as they stated right in the patch notes that dummy parses may be inflated due to the changes. Pretty hard to mislead people when you are arguing for the potentially misleading situation right in your presented documents.

100 k DPS on La on live
87 on HA - 50 k on 3 kk dummy.
HA build on PTS - 20 k ... well - just lets say that it just lugs - .... lags is the fault ! ))

As a HA player i do not feel like it is healthy for the game at all ))

It has more penetration and buffs yes - but do it work is a question ? Because it can be the same broken ))) So how to test ? )))

Some changes are not even in patch notes - ninja fix to HA as example with lightning staff ... .

How to test untestable ? )))

I even can not play on live server now i am so dissapointed that i wright here ))))

New Major Slayer alone is 10% damage buff. Then throw in 215 weapon/spell damage from new Minor Courage, and easier to hit penetration cap...

Yea, this target dummy "fix" happening right now is awfully convenient way to muddy the water and prevent 1:1 comparisons from PTS damage to Live.

Not that silly, to be honest. If someone doesn't scour the patch notes, or only looks at the combat changes section, they could easily miss that and think the DPS loss is not as sever as it appears.

They're not trying to completely hide it, because when people figured it out, there'd be so much more rage, but, just kinda quietly slipping it into the patch notes and hoping no one notices? Yeah, it's probably on the level, but their decision not to push those updates to the dummies on live before opening these balance changes up, and asking for us to provide comparative data, is a bit... questionable.

Literally this, I've been chopping an additional 10% off the PTS parse numbers I've seen people posting for a more realistic comparison to the current state on Live.

Yes. Quite possibly more.

Damage done bonuses are additive. Major Slayer will add 10% exactly if you have no other sources of "damage done." Worst case, if you already have Minor Slayer (from certain trials sets), Minor Berserk (which you get from the dummy), Major Berserk (from Kinras), two pertinent 6% damage CP stars, and Exploiter, then Major Slayer "only" adds 7% to your damage.

If you were not overpenetrating before, then the additional 2358 pen will help your damage as well. How much depends on how much pen you had to begin with. The old dummy had 14,672 in resistance debuffs and so only 3528 armor left. Endgame parsers will have 700 pen from Piercing (blue CP passive), so only 2828 armor to get through. Anyone running 3 pieces of light armor was basically at pen cap, and medium armor users could wear one light and use one mace to get close (239 shy of cap). If you are making use of all the new 2358 pen to get yourself to cap, that's a potential 3.7% damage increase from the pen alone - and that does not take into consideration any additional damage gains from switching, say, from a mace to a dagger for 3.7% extra crit chance. If you were already at pen cap and haven't made any adjustments as a result (like a light armor user still using light armor), then the updated resistance debuffs won't affect your parse at all.

The exact impact of Minor Courage depends on your current weapon/spell damage (including the effective weapon/spell damage contributed by your highest offensive max resource) and your weapon/spell damage modifiers, which apply to the buff's 215 damage stat. It will probably range from 2.5% to 3% effective damage added in most cases.

So the dummy's new buffs add 9.5% or so in the worst case and over 16% in the best.
