Is the new Flurry animation a placeholder?

Honestly, I do not think I have seen an animation that looks so hilarious and... not great in a long time. It reminds of the same quality that brought us the old old Stam DK vomit attack.
If you've not seen it yet, I implore you to take a look at it.

    It's preferable over stabbing with maces and hammers which is what the old animation used to be doing. The new animation feels more powerful because you see your character physically slashing your foes on screen.

    It's probably highlight of this patch visually, don't remember anything that bad and hilarious at the same time, either cat fight or a drunk one. My first spammable getting deleted feels kinda sad.

    Maybe "pooping shields" of Murkmire were at the same level.

    I really hate the new flurry, getting the light attack out of it afterwards feels clunky and slow and just looks like I'm just doing regular light attacks all the time. I don't get why it was changed.

    Idea is cool but... What's wrong with sound effects? If they mixed two slashes (so mix of new and old) and stab at the end that would be cool. This need serious polishing anyway. It's not fluent. Animations are matter of talent, not amount of tossed money into it.

    i like the general idea of it, but it needs to be cleaned up, the character's legs and feet sliding around looks awful.

    hmmm yeah, I was really looking forward to see some new animations, I actually like the jabs animation better but in general I was expecting more from these new animations, especially since all newer animations in the game actually look pretty good.

    Sad to see this is what they came up with.

    I think they created am impossible situation for themselves in regards to certain animations.

    A long time ago your ability animations were prioritized over your light attacks. Essentially you looked like you were spamming an ability and the light attack damage just appears.

    They changed this to make light attacks display as priority for a short time so you could see them in PvP, with the inevitable result being extreme animation clumsiness.

    For abilities like Puncturing Strikes or Flurry, it’ll never be able to look truly smooth unless ZOS decides to go back to those better, smooth animations.

    When you have small budget - make some thing bad, that was made good.

    Take budget and do nothing is not an option ))))

    They are changing the duration so they have to change the animation. And like someone else said: stabbing with axes and maces always looked ridiculous. I like this one better, but the sound effects are of.

    It's too similar to light attack weaves and watching it frame by frame they did some things well I think the biggest problem is the audio it feels so disconnected/desynced to the action

    It seems pretty clear they haven't done new audio yet. The question is whether they intend to bother or not.

    Honestly, I'm rather unsure. While I feel the jabs animation change was great I feel the opposite towards flurry and the lil hip to feet shimmy while remaining like a board feels, robotic.

    I agree, it looks bad. Even the icon is of multiple blades stabbing. Now it just looks like lazily swinging and it doesn't match up the the audio for it anymore. I hope they roll it back.
