1 button dummy parse no light attack weaving

so here i made a short 1 button parse that shows what is possible to achieve without any light attacks

weapon traits are off meta for a long time actually theese traits were never meta and weapon traits are the most important traits on any piece of gear they can change your damage the most i belive so its possible to reach 10-20k higher with optimizing but my goal wasnt trying to get highest parse in the world just a siple 1 button damage rotation that is showing to people who want this games core combat system ruined for what i spent countless hours mastering its just a prank from zos at this point

    As a parallel I have a friend who parced for 53k light attacking only with Blood Moon, Relequen, Kilt, and 1pc slimecraw with off trait gear.

    there was a 100k parse on here a while back. only skills no la (or ha if I remember correctly)...

    People like to scapegoat stuff like LAW or Animation Cancelling just because they have fancy names. In reality, you can do almost all of the content in this game without any of that stuff.

    Can you show the same on a class|build with less OP spammable? Not everyone "casual" is templar

    The difference between these 'no LA' parses (edit: of 100k) and the average player is having perfect actions per minute, casts per minute, and dot/buff uptimes at 100% and no skill misses. (Which maybe easier to pull off if you aren't trying to LA weave with your op spammable jabs anyway! LOL)

    LA weaving is a very important contributor to damage as Dragonlord's friend showed (see post above) but it goes along with a lot of other stuff being done correctly to get into the really high damage dealers' territory.

    It takes an awful lot of practice copying a rotation, or deep knowledge of exactly how the game calculates skill and attack order, to pull off really high damage (100k dps) consistently. Doing it in trials adds in a bunch of other factors and knowledge.

    It won''t affect me much. I'm one of those who can not/will not learn to weave, so I kind of prefer more weighting to skills and combos anyway but as the OP shows, skills still contribute a lot to damage done, even in the current iteration of combat, so a lot of us won't be affected by the weave changes. I think the people most affected by reduced damage from weaving will also be the people most able to adapt. I'm not sure it alone will change combat for most people. I think the DOT changes have much bigger implications for many players.

    I suspect this change is more about server improvement through standardising calculations than 'raising the floor' for newer and more casual players, or nerfing the DPS of the top ten percent of DD's.

    you are correct this was me showing strongest spammable in the game but then again here is a parse using 2 skills and light attacks and they are saying light attacks are currently doing what 24% if i remember correctly?

    this is straight up 2 skills and a light attack and the light attack did 22% thats with using 2h spammable that provides with empower for 3 sec so what would change if i did a complete rotation how much dmg would 1 light attack then be? the fight is short since stam drain is high and i wont go changing foods just see how much dmg is possible with 2 skills and a light attack

    there are couple of reasons why i would argue that they didnt do it becouse of calculations from server side to make performance better but i'll bring 2 that stick out

    1. the way they worded anyone who apprecietes eso combat and made those players look like villans but there is alot of conversation about this already so i dont think i need to go any deeper

    2. making server not calculate a light attack makes no diffrence compared to all of theese unique sets they are bringind to eso that provide with a uniqe buff (not minor or major) so for every skill and DoT you do and when i wanted to calculate avarage dmg of stagger at least aprox numbers i went to eso logs took 1 sec from a encounter in my last trial and that number ended up being 108 so making the server read per 12 players in 1 instance in 1 second 108 ticks of diffrent damage dealt in that 1 second not everybody used their light attack since it wasnt any core group pussing scores just friends messing around but lets assume they did so 108-12= 96 or in other words 11.11% less ticks of damage is the percentage the servers will have to calculate since light attacks all of a sudden will have base value

    and even if all of that is false and by some miracle they are actually trying to increase server performance well they will succed trust me becosue every player that actually wants a challange and is playing eso when the new patch comes will stop palying. making DoTs longer even by 20% that means we will have to use something inbetween those skills and that is a spammable

    i just looked up some of my parses and spammables are either 60% of your casts or 30% but lets call it 45%

    means next patch we are going to have to click the same button inbewteen our dots 20% more 45+20%=54%

    and theese calcuilations are me being very hopeful about changes in U35 sicne they said 100% increase on spammables if that happens every player that was enjoying the game all of a sudden wont and the game will be boring if you click back to back same skill and a light attack

    i hope changes wont be as drastic as they hinted but if they are very well done ZOS your servers wont have to calculate anything since players who actually want to get better and have a challange will be playing a diffrent game

    Explain to me: how does reducing the peak DPS output of LAs from up to 20%+ of your DPS down to around 10%+, equate to "core combat system ruined"? Weaving is STILL going to contribute a significant amount of DPS, it's STILL going to be important for maintaining the dot stack of top end sets like Relequen, it's STILL going to be important for any build using crystal/elemental/crushing weapon, and people who want to reach peak DPS are STILL going to do it.

    This is a measured approach to reducing weaving DPS output that's been needed for a long time, and I'm sick of reading sweeping, kneejerk generalisations about it. The sky is not falling; stop being so melodramatic.

    It doesn't ruin the combat. Really it doesn't do much to curb the insane dps people will be able to pull at the highest tier. It's just annyoing that zos nerfs dps when most groups aren't able to complete large chuncks of the content. It's not like dealing less damage with Light Attacks is going to increase the damage of inexperienced players (unless the flat Light Attack damage is rather high, we haven'T seen the values yet)

    @Lalothen well la actually in content at the moment do when you hit 121k dmg single target 21.5k dmg so making players who know how to use light attack before the skill 20% stronger as shown in picture below but as you learn how to use skills on a global cooldown you get the rhytm of pressing the mouse button before the skill so its basically 1 input from your brain your muscle memory combines those 2 together so that will never be the reason people are doing alot of dmg and not my problem with the upcoming updates my problem is that once update arrives rotation wont be static or dynamic there just wont be rotation you will use your dots and got make a sandwich for 30 sec leave your cat to walk over the keyboard and still use the same spammable since i could probably do that with just slamming my head against it so my nose is the thing pressing the button

    This is presumptive; we haven't yet seen how the changes will actually look, so for all we know certain DoTs with front-loaded damage or another benefit attached will actually yield higher output by recasting early, meaning dynamic rotations may not become redundant at all. The key thing is: we don't know yet.

    Cool parse bro.

    Now do a warden with racer, a sorcerer with crystals, a DK with stones, a Necro with skulls and a nb with blade or strife. You might also want to try force pulse and the other weapon skill spams.

    I think it shows how templar jabs are far and away superior to other spammables.
