Im afraid to re-install. Mainly because of the time it would take and the fact I see other threads on the board with this issue and a re-install did not fix it.

Once you run the launcher, press the "play" button on the side. Open up your Task Manager and see if the process appears or not, that way i can determine whether it is related to your graphics driver

And run the "Check for updates" and "Repair" just for the sake of not missing anything.

I don't think I would be much of help right now, game is reinstalling probably won't be done for a while
  • HenryH3894
If upon pressing the "Play" button in the launcher and nothing happens, no error message either.... And if the process in the Task Manager shows it running in the background, it is likely related to a graphic card issue. I recall having such issues when having a dedicated graphics card and a integrated graphics chip.

  • HenryH3894
Well... Could you perhaps tell me if your PC has a integrated graphics chip beside your dedicate graphics card?

    - Integrated graphics chip is being used rather than your dedicated graphics card. (You can manage this under your Nvidia or AMD control panel)
    - If it is not graphics related, try this. Open up your ESO Installed directory in C: drive, locate the .exe file and set to compatibility mode to Windows vista, or 7. And also run as Administrator everytime.

eso.exe in the client files or the launcher.exe?

I got an eso.exe file not found error message after installing the game. Once it said it was installed, the launcher seemed to get stuck on 'initializing' but I could click the Play button.

Then I got the error message: the procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be found in the location in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll

Could not find a repair option in the launcher at all so I'm having to reinstall to see if that helps.

Best bet is to set both your launcher.exe and eso.exe with those settings i wrote before. The eso.exe is not located in the same folder as the launcher, i wrote the file paths down below guys.

"eso.exe" is located in Zenixmax Online > The Elder Scrolls Online > Game > Client

"bethesda.net_Launcher.exe" is located in Zenimax Online > Launcher

I fixed this issue by doing a "fresh" installation of my NVIDIA card drivers.
  • HenryH3894
Just for the sake of those who might have missed it, i can only determine that these are the 2 major issues that may be causing this.

Other than that, I could only convince everyone to run "Repair" and "Check for update" before thinking of a clean graphics driver install... etc.

Hey everyone, if you are having this problem the first thing we want you to try is making sure you are running the client as an administrator.

If you are still not able to launch the game another thing you can try involves navigating to your UserSettings.txt file. The default location is My Documents/The Elder Scrolls Online/Live. Once in that folder, locate the UserSettings.txt and open it with Notepad.

Locate the line "SET RequestedNumThreads "X" change the X from whatever number it may be to 0.

Once that change is made, save and close the document and try launch the game again.
