"Royal Messenger's Fate" lorebook is no more in my collected lorebook, and now it is unobtainable

After the last patch, the book "Royal Messenger's Fate" is DISAPPEARED from my collection. Now it appears as unknown, even though it was absolutely known. This book is found by completing a Wrothgar quest "Broken Promises" and it is found at the foot of the gargoyle, near the location of the skyshard within the delve "Watcher's Hold". I did the quest with an alt and I noticed that the book disappears as soon as it is known. My main character had already done the quest of this delve, now she has lost knowledge of the book (after update 34) and cannot learn it again because the book is completely absent, it is no longer visible after the quest. ZOS you fixed two books and bugged others !!!! I want my lore back, I want my book "Royal Messenger's Fate" known as before the patch !!!!

    Same.

    Please @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_GregoryV @ZOS_RichLambert help.
I hope the book "The Fate of the Royal Messenger" will not be forgotten for years like Assassin's Order.

Especially because until Update 34, the knowledge of this book was in our collections!
And then it got mugged from us.

    Same here.
Here we go again. In the last 6 years I can't remember a single day where no books were bugged and all obtainable.
Not one single day. In 6 years...

edit: just re-did the quest (on another charcter to verify):
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Broken_Promises

during the quest it's located here:
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Watcher%27s_Hold
    x6cd5niahbbb.png
(there are 2 locations of the quest step -see minimap, you only have to and can do one of them. On the left there is only a corpse to discover, on the right it is the book in question. If you spot the corpse on the left, the book will be gone immediately even during the quest, so if you went to the left after accepting the quest, you never had a chance to get it)

After reading it, it's located in your inventory (but just if you choose the right handed side step!)

The end of the quest is here:

After turn-in, the other book ("Offer of Amnesty", which started the quest and was located in the delve on a table) appears with a post-quest loc next to the return point, but not the quest-step-2 book "Royal Messenger's Fate" (no matter if you chose the left or the right location to complete the quest)

Thanks for the accurate explanation. However, the quest is not repeatable for characters who have already done it. For these characters (presumably the main characters of lorebooks collectors) the knowledge of "Royal Messenger's Fate" is permanently lost. There is no longer a chance to recover it, if not through yet another ZOS patch, which MAYBE will arrive in a few years and 10,000 posts of requests and pleas.

    Radio Silence from ZOS.
Isn't this a bug worthy of attention?
I wonder: if lorebook collectors are not worthy of attention, why do lorebooks keep coming into the game?
Either give the opportunity to collect all the books you enter in the game, or have the courage to remove these collections that you don't care enough for.

Also Crumpled Nursery Rhyme from Pelletine Postings was removed, but at least it's still obtainable.

Yes I posted an image of the exact location where this book is currently recoverable in a previous comment of mine

The above books weren't removed from eidetic memory: they were never in it in the first place, but should have been. Like Falkfyr 7 - the eidetic memory originally only contained Falkfyr 1 to 6. But when 7 was added to the eidetic memory, it became unobtainable for those people who had already passed that quest stage... now it is obtainable again, of course, but the question is when the rest will also be fixed.

No. I can assure you that "Royal Messenger's Fate" was in my Lorebook Journal before the last patch, as far as my main character is concerned. The knowledge of this book has been removed from Update 34. Of this I am sure. Same thing for "Crumpled Nursery Rhyme", but the difference is that the latter is still re-obtainable, while "Royal Messenger's Fate" is absolutely not obtainable after the quest (quest done and finished about three years ago with my main character) . I did the quest again with an alt, which got the knowledge of "Royal Messenger's Fate". But there is currently no Account Wide Knowledge for books...

just for interest, how do you know (that this specific book was already in there)?

    https://www.imperial-library.info/content/royal-messengers-fate

This links a 2017 post on internet.
In 2017 this book already existed, it was not introduced by update 34. My main character, before update 34, had knowledge of all the books of Eidetic Memory, except two, which were fixed with this update. It follows that the book Royal Messenger's Fate was already known by my main character and the knowledge of it was simply removed due to update 34.

I have the same issue, i was down to only like a dozen lorebooks needed before the patch. I know i had the Royal Messenger's Fate completed in my library. Anyone who has done the quest line has to have read it because it is part of the quest.

I just checked it's not at it's location in the Watcher's Hold delve. :(

I have the same problem. I've already written to the support twice (ingame), but without any reaction :(
