Do you like playing the Tales of Tribute?

I have developed a serious like for the new card game! I find it to be super fun, especially when playing against friends! How do you feel about Tales of Tribute?

I like Tails of Tribute.

In my experience it comes off as a unique card game experience. As a long-time player of Magic: The Gathering and someone who once played the Pokemon TCG, I have little bit of experience with card games. I like the different theme decks, and the fact you can unlock upgraded cards for each. I don't like that there is no deck customization at all though. You cannot add or remove cards. I think the art for the cards is really great!

All in all, I think the game is fun in short bursts, gives me something to do when I don't feel like doing anything, but leaves much to be desired.

I expect to play it periodically once I get the expansion, but I haven't bought it yet. There was nothing in it that made me think I need to buy it right away, and (among other things) I've just bought a new PC so I'm trying to hold off on non-essential purchases for a bit.

I like the idea of having more non-combat activities to do in the game and while a card game wouldn't have been my first choice it sounds like it could be fun and I'm looking forward to trying it when I do get High Isle.

Focus right now is getting Ember and Isobel to 20 then figure out which final builds I want to play them. Isobel alone could replace everyone with an all in one tank/heal/dps setup if I wanted, but I don't want to make the rest of them obsolete like that, choices...

I Hate Tails of Tribute.

I hate it.

I'm not into card games in general, and I played a few hands, and each was so damn long, I got frustrated and bored, and started to hate the whole thing

Not touching it again, unless for shutting up those screamers that are now in cities advertising it.

I am afraid I am a hater. Still, I am always supportive of new content even if it isn't my thing. The more choices & options we have in game, the more there is something for everyone.

I'm enjoying it so far. I still haven't played enough to know if it is something that will keep me entertained long term or not.

It's okay.

It's okay, Legends is the superior card game though. Would've been a cool feature on a free update, but as the main selling point for the chapter it is pretty eh. I would've preferred a knightly skill line or something over this.

I love Tails of Tribute!

Love it. Love seeing the little things one can do over the course of many turns to set up combos. Love watching my opponent make a big miss-play and cascading to victory. I even love that you can lose because of a bad early hand and tavern to keep you humble.

The only thing I don't love is the 10 minute concession penalty. You can tell pretty quickly if a game is going to be competitive or a blowout, so allowing people to bow out gracefully with a button click and get on to their next session would be good.

I love it, even if as a battleground player I would love to see a ranking system on battlegrounds too lmao

I don't really care for Tails of Tribute.

I would have preferred that the money spent developing this would have gone towards....

• A decent cloth engine
• Cloaks see above
• The ability to Dye your Horses Tack
• The ability to change the tack on your horse
• Improvements in the AI so NPC's don't say the same stupid things over and over
• A Jousting game similar to Defender Of The Crown (which was successfully done in 1992)
• Horse and pets that blink instead of staring like creepy mannikins
• Companions that are famous NPC's like Raz, Lyris, etc
• A Tavern questing system where you gain special soloable quest chains at Different Taverns that changes periodically.
• Ships as a means of travel
• The ability for players to Hide others Combat and Non Combat pets in the cities.

Almost anything expect a boring convoluted card game.


Folks here know me I usually have positive things to say about ESO, but this was a waste of time and budget.

I like Tails of Tribute.

ive only played against npcs so far so i can get a better understanding of the game, its certainly interesting for sure

it definitely seems heavily balanced towards certain decks though

st pelin and crows cards are very potent at generating combos/gold/power, but i also enjoy hlaalu deck for the ability to use cards to get free picks from the tavern

You know I just had a terrible thought....I hope ToT isn't some gateway for NFT's. Thta would be unforgivable to me and I could no longer play the game in good conscious.

So far I can't say that this game would be fun in any way. I find it rather annoying and time consuming. Of course, I don't have to play it, but somehow you feel compelled to do it to get the rewards.

I haven't played it yet, little worried after reading all the messages about it. I'm going to try and get to it today, crossing my fingers I get the tutorial and can win a hand or two.

I find it very confusing, not at all intuitive and I keep losing and don't know why. There are no tips, no hints, nothing that helps you to play better. It takes forever to play one match. And I doubt that I will ever manage to finish up the 'win against another player' daily in the next few months or so... >.<

I don't really care for Tails of Tribute.

I kinda had expectations for this game and it feels like a let down. It's a weird mix of complex mechanics and simplistic gameplay. For starters the game throws the whole setup at you, it's got to be intimidating to first timers. But the game play itself is sort of on autopilot.

I'll explain, in other card games you hold back cards or stockpile resources. But here just about everything resets or is discarded to the cooldown after you end your turn, so you may as well play and click everything you can in the beginning. Basically the card equivalent of button smashing through the first couple deck draws. After that it's a race to your win condition vs. your opponent, whose gameplay you can't really respond to other than maybe yeeting cards you think they might need off the tavern during your turn before.

You know, I have an itch to learn the game, because it's a new game system, but I'm also a bit meh on why I would bother.

Card games aren't my thing but I decided to try it, anyway.
Conclusions:
- It's not an intuitive game
- the in-game tutorial is very bad - you don't learn how to play the game at all.

I love Tails of Tribute!

I'm one of the people who's always wanted cute tavern games to play with NPCs and players. Tales of Tribute was more complex than I wanted for a tavern game, and I am still really sad it's the only big feature of the chapter, but I still really enjoy it. I've only played a handful of games on live so far because I've been busy with story/zone content but it will definitely be a regular thing for me.
