Thanks and I can't comment on this thread any longer or discuss the reasons why. This will be the last one.

Well someone opened my ticket again. Let's see where this goes.

I really want someone from ZOS to explain why explorer.exe is so evil and ZOS needs to kill the process and restart it AFTER I leave the game. If it is so evil then why allow it to run at all while I am logged in??

And my ticket keeps moving up the chain. :) Will post any info they have about the issue.

Win10 has no issues as far as I can tell, been using it since it came out.You can still upgrade for free,so there's no legit reason to not upgrade, might be non-legit reasons, heh.I'm on older PC so any PC less than a decade old should run even better than mine.I'd upgrade to Win11,but without uefi/secure boot,it's not allowed, that's how old PC is lol, time for upgrade when prices drop.

Wonder if this is part of their aggressive hack hunting software

This issue has also affected some Windows 10 and 11 machines, especially those upgraded from Windows 7 rather than with clean installations. My own Windows 10 machine is affected, albeit not as badly as my Windows 7 machine.

It's possible this arises from some Bethesda-wide change as Fallout 76 has the exact same original issue but hasn't had the attempted fix that ZOS applied to ESO and which has caused bigger problems than the original one it was supposed to fix.

Well my tickets has moved up to a team now. I've had to send reports and try mem tests and many other things like a new user profile. None of this stopped the problem. I explained that the last info we had posted from ZOS was this is a security feature, live with it. So that is when my ticket got moved up another level.

Welp they closed it again and said they cannot help. This is why I hate submitting tickets. I like how it is okay for them to corrupt my OS with the reboots. One department says it isn't a security "feature" and another department says it is. Bah.........

What I posted about a week or so ago was against their rules and I am sorry I did that. My emotions got the better of me and the kind of post I made just came out but it won't happen again. They never said I could not use the Forums. Folks I don't think this issue is going to be fixed. Whatever it is, ZOS wants it in place. Security issues or whatever. I have found a work around the frozen screen I get on a Windows 11 machine. Instead of clicking Quit I click on Logout. This method of exiting the game takes a few more clicks but it gets me around the frozen screen issue. Don't know if it will work for the Explorer.exe on Windows 7 machines.
