The Elder Scrolls Online v8.0.4 is our final incremental patch before High Isle launches on PC/Mac/Stadia on June 6! Similar to previous patches, we’ve continued fixing issues affecting the new Trial, Tales of Tribute and content in High Isle. We’ve also made some small updates to the EULA which you will need to re-accept upon first logging in after this patch.

Please note in order to test proper access to the upcoming Chapter, only those who have pre-purchased High Isle will be able to access the content starting with this patch. Should you decide to pre-purchase after this patch goes live, you will immediately regain access to all Chapter content as intended.

The size of this final patch is approximately 559MB. A huge thank you to everyone for all your feedback and bug reports from the past month – we appreciate you!

    Dreadsail Reef Trial
    • General
      • Bow Breaker will now always travel when using its Bog Burst ability.
    • Lylanar and Turlassil
      • Added visual effects to denote the invulnerability status of Lylanar and Turlassil if they are brought to low health before the final phase of the encounter.
      • Lylanar and Turlassil no longer tend to cast Imminent Blister or Chill immediately after completing a teleport sequence.
      • Lylanar and Turlassil will now delay using abilities other than melee attacks after using their Firebrand and Frostbrand abilities.
      • Frost and Flame Hounds now survey the battlefield before casting Frost and Flame Retch.
      • Lylanar and Turlassil will now respect taunt effects after teleporting.
      • The following changes have been made when you raise the Challenge Banner:
        • Reduced the damage of Flame and Frost Hounds, Iron and Frost Atronachs, and Lylanar and Turlassil.
        • Decreased the damage of the Bleeding effect applied by Iron and Frost Atronachs.
        • Decreased the damage of the Glaciate and Blacken effects applied by Lylanar and Turlassil.
        • Chilling and Blistering Fragility no longer apply a reduced healing effect.
        • Lylanar and Turlassil no longer have a chance to cast non-melee abilities immediately after applying the Charred Constriction or Frigidarium effects.
    • Reef Guardian
      • The Reef Heart is now easier to target.
      • The Reef Guardian can now always be attacked when intended.
    • Tideborn Taleria
      • The visual combat cue associated with Rapid Deluge will no longer display if you are swimming.
      • Sea Behemoths will now join the encounter much less frequently.
      • Reduced the health from Sea Behemoths, Enthralling Matrons, Sea Evokers, Sea Boilers, and Tidal Mages when the Challenge Banner is active.
      • Taleria will now delay her initial cast of Rapid Deluge.
      • Maelstrom, Suffocating Waves, Sweltering Heat, and Nematocyst Cloud now affect a slightly larger area.

    General
    • Port Navire and Dufort Shipyards now have more appropriate map icons associated with them.

    Quests
    • Escape from Amenos: Prince Irnskar will now always join you in the Green Serpent Lair so he can be defended, like a proper Prince.
    • In Secret and Shadow: Werewolves will now play animations during the quest when praying at altars and using quest items.
    • The Ascendant Storm: You can no longer leave the fight with the Ascendant Magus before he is defeated.
    • The Long Game: Using the Trusty Outfit disguise will no longer block group members from using their own disguises.
    • The Missing Prowler: Quartermaster Oblan is no longer particular about needing players to find all the clues before talking to him.
    • To Catch a Magus: You will now revive at the appropriate graveyard withing the Navire Dungeons when you choose to revive at a graveyard instead of reviving in place.

    General
    • Fixed an issue where you couldn’t play Tribute using a Gamepad.
    • Fixed an issue where PvE matches granted incorrect experience values on wins and losses.
    • Tales of Tribute MMR will now reset during the transition to a new season.
    • Fixed an issue where the Activity Finder would not block you from attempting to queue for Tribute matches while in AvA zones, trials, dungeons, or solo instances.
    • Fixed an issue where you could not interact with the Tribute game board if you started a match while the tribute PvP victory tutorial was visible on the HUD.
    • Fixed an issue that prevented players in competitive Tales of Tribute matches from losing MMR when they forfeit.
    • The Gamepad interact wheel can now initiate Tribute matches.

    Gameplay
    • The AI now has default values for attacking agents.
    • Knight Commander, a Saint Pelin agent card, now heals themselves when their combo ability is activated.
    • The AI now appropriately uses the Treasury and Hlaalu Patrons on cards suited for those Patrons.
    • The AI will now play all curse cards first before playing non-curse cards.
    • You can now see and challenge hidden masters appropriately.
    • You will no longer get stuck if you have to resolve force-discard and curse cards at the same time.
    • The AI will now wait for card animations to finish before playing or buying the next card.
    • The AI will no longer get stuck after using the ACQUIRE mechanic on choice cards with targeted mechanics.
    • Fixed an issue that caused the Sorcerer-King Orgnum Patron ability cards to not count toward combos.
    • Fixed an issue that allowed Rahjin's Patron power to create a Bewilderment card in the opponent's deck rather than their cooldown when Unfavored.
    • You can no longer skip the last turn of the Tutorial and lose before the game ends.

    UI
    • Corrected the icon for the “Let’s Play” Dialog option when starting a Tribute match.
    • Resizing your window during a game of Tribute will no longer shrink all cards for the remainder of the match.
    • While playing a match, the tooltips for Tribute Patrons that cannot be collected will no longer show a warning indicating that they are uncollectible as to avoid confusion.
    • Changed Tribute Patron tooltips to only highlight the currently active favor state to make it easier to identify the active state.
    • The display for Agent health no longer appears to be 0 after defeated when the card is drawn or played.
    • Added additional text to the options dialog if conceding a match will result in a penalty.
    • Fixed an issue where invites to Tribute matches would not display in the notifications menu.
    • Fixed a filtering issue involving Tribute Patrons search using a keyboard.
    • Fixed an issue where losing players could see large negative numbers in the experience gains section of the Tales of Tribute summary screen.
    • Match rewards in the post-match summary no longer collide with the Continue button.
    • Fixed an issue that caused the German localization of the "Recent Combos" panel heading to be truncated.
    • Fixed a grammatical issue with resource titles.
    • Fixed an issue where the favored text for Founder Fillia's Patron was not showing up.
    • Fixed an issue where switching to Gamepad Mode would cause the Tribute rank icons to move behind the season progression bar in the summary screen.
    • Tribute Recent Combo tiles will now show the amount healed for an Agent rather than the number of Agents healed.
    • Fixed an issue where card tooltips would occasionally not appear.
    • Fixed an issue that mixed up Psijic Loremaster Celarus' collectible icon with Grandmaster Delmene Hlaalu's.
    • Added icons for the Tales of Tribute Patrons collection categories of Neutral and Patrons.

    Visuals
    • Improved the visual distinction for Contract cards.
    • Implemented several improvements to combo visualizations.
    • Fixed an issue where the card glow visuals could get cut off at the top in the pile viewer or target viewer.
    • Fixed an issue where the turn timer hourglass would highlight during incorrect moments during the tutorial.
    • The turn timer will now highlight during your turn once the opponent finishes drawing cards.
    • Reduced the delay for Tribute Agent healing and damage received animations.
    • Enlarged and moved the rank icons beside the progress bars on the Tribute post-match summary screen.
    • Replaced the discard counter icon with a higher resolution version.

    • Fixed a rare crash that could occur when logging out or jumping to another zone.
    • Fixed an issue where the Windows Explorer process could get restarted when closing the client, causing screen flicker.
