Nerf pvp guards

Zos, pvp guards are way too op.

Honor guards are tanks with negates and unbreakable chains. They coag themselves back to near full health after they are dead, they break their cc earlier than intended to use coag right before their death. Why are they also allowed to throw perfect negates.

Guard healers also throw negates, they use lag to exploit the player and are untouchable a lot of times. Their heals are too op and their perfect negates are ridiculous.

Mage guards also throw perfect negates through walls. They have no cooldown once bashed and spam crystal drags that knock the player down harder than any cc. They also throw perfect shock and fire damage through walls onto the player. They also exploit lag and become untouchable ( all guards do)

Tank guards are the best tanks in the game they make it so hard to hit anything as they grind up on you every chance they get. Their light attacks are too op and so is their resistances and perma block casting if you heavy attack is annoying. Plus, why is there a walking tank that can pull four more tanks onto all the other guards I mentioned?

They need to be nerfed zos. If even 1 guard is involved in me vs 10+ players. I will probably die because of that guard, not the 10+ players.

    NO people keep saying it is too easy and places like cyro and IC are mostly dead. If anything they should add many more enemies in all PVP zones including BGs. What if every flag spawned 1 guard, and/or each relic location had a guard. More fighting like the DMers want, right?

    Also IC should double or triple the amount of roaming bosses and add those roaming bosses around cyro resources and doors, talk about FUN.

    So the OP is saying the reason why they can’t successfully PvP 10+ players all because 1 DK guard shows up. If anything the guards need to be tougher.

    HIT THE NAIL ON HEAD, gankers and 1vXers don't like anything making their job harder. But as someone who thinks those playstyles are way too prevalent (and not good for game overall) I think we do need to make them harder.

    But at the same time I genuinely think more enemies in PVP zones would just be more fun.

    Pull the tank in the door
    Interrupt and focus the healer

    Stun or negate them too

    Guards are fine. The only thing I hate about them is the debuffs they apply like the punctures. 30% damage taken, ouchie.

    They're very hard to defeat when playing alone, on my tank build, It takes me like 15 minutes to clear them out because the healers spam their heals and they pretty much restore all their health, and not to mention how little sustain I have as a tank.
    As a DD, it's a fight for my life between restoring my health with ultimates and HoTs and killing all healers first and then guards.

    I actually think they're good the way they are, if you can't solo a resource, you could try to improve your build on an aspect you're lacking.

    I don't mind higher HP guards. They are super useful for ultimate regen and you can turn them into proximity mines with plaguebreak. Probably should up their damage too to help with RSS deathporting.

    NB enthusiastic:
    1. Woodhippie stamblade - DW hard-hitter / PvE
    2. Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
    3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

    Go dominion or go home

    Siege works on guards, I often just clear out the mage guard in the tower and the two other npcs who follow you up then kill everyone on the flag with 2-3 hits of Cold Fire when capping resources.

    Capture farm first to weaken keep NPCs.

    Syvarra's meme bonus line works against cyro guards too, if they still beat you too hard.

    Kill dude on top of tower first.

    If you can't handle npc guards in Cyrodiil, there's no way you're going to beat players.

    The problem doesn't sound like guards being too strong, but your setup not being strong enough.

    Not true. Grey Host has been pop. capped for days, I can never get on. Ravenwatch is also often very busy, especially EP which is also often pop. capped. I'm speaking of EU servers here, however, NA servers might tell a different story and be "dead" in which case the problem is that American players may not be liking PvP as much as European players. I have heard, but not verified, that the NA servers tend to be more toxic chat-wise than EU servers, so maybe that's a reason... some people dislike toxic PvP environments so maybe they're playing on alts here in the EU with PvP-only builds and not on the NA PvP servers in order to avoid the a-holes.
    I'm 40+ and have been gaming since the 1980s and have owned machines like the ZX Spectrum, Atari ST, NES & PS1 - which involved loading 8/16-bit games off unreliable cassette tapes, floppy disks, CDs and giant cartridges with no "save game" ability - I don't like meta, I don't like memes, I don't like being rushed, I don't like the modern gaming industry - and you definitely won't change my mind just because it doesn't align with yours - it's a generational hazard!

    They are dks with perma cc immunity, negates, unbrealable chains, and necromancer skills when they come back from the dead to coag their way to full health.

    Yeah, they are cake if you know how to deal with them. Stun, fear, and turn them into bombs with Plaguebreak. Also, Syvarra's Scales set makes you take 20% less damage from them.

    I use the guards to test my pve chars, I like that there is something that actually fights back to test with. bonus is getting rewards of the worthy for capturing the resources etc

    It's easy to solo guards if there are no players around, you can also pick them off one by one with a long ranged bow ability.


    Have soloed many resources and one outpost(was a bit frantic with respawns and an uninvited bosmer ganker but I got it in the end)

    In the absence of players I can flip resources and towns with ease. Been doing so to get proofs... for ages.

    Is one of those 'how to get PvP cosmetic rewards without engaging in PvP' workarounds.

    I guess is intended? Not sure. I find them marginally more challenging than PvE overland.

    Or is this thread some kind of 'double entendre' thing that has gone swoosh over my head?

    What I'd like to know is WHY guards are allowed to decide how quickly you can put up siege. The FIRST thing they do is Negate you when you're trying to put down a ram. WHY does Negate affect putting down siege at all?!?

    Before, the guard where just a joke. The way they are now is all fine for me.
    They actually guard the place a little instead of dropping dead as soon you look at them with a mean face.

    I wouldn't even mind if there where more guards tbh.
    Alliances would have more time to react and battles would be more intense.

    100% agree. It is ridiculous that guards can outperform most non-coordinated groups.

    Why not retire the guards to PvE overland? That way players will finally have some challenging fights there. ^^
