Has PVP been Fixed and people are not losing their minds?

I wouldn't say there has been much for improvement, yesterday's stream I crashed to desktop three times. There was a noticeable reduction in lag at most times during gameplay, as long as there was not a 3 faction zerg war at a given Keep.
Today the queue is over 100 and 1 hour plus waiting time
Would be nice to be able to log in and get right to the game, now that would warrant many pages of praise, indeed!

I think the reason you're seeing the queue is because people are finding a reason to hit pvp again. Seems that many are finding improvement play-wise, so that means word of mouth spreads and a lot of people want to pvp.

Not at all an unmixed blessing of course.

There's a lot of skepticism yet. Reports coming in from folks are that performance did see improvement. Whether or not it's just placebo effect yet remains to be seen, but we'll see?

Also, improvements seemed to mostly be in regard to FPS and Ping, though I did see some mentions of skills firing more smoothly and so on.

I'm convinced it's not placebo. My frames have not changed at all. No skill lag in primetime GH during hammer stacked tri faction fight. My audio was [snip] itself, frames dropped by 20 or 30 (which is normal), but skills actually fired when casts.

PC NA Grey Host was basically perfect tonight. I'm truly shocked that the upgrade has made such a amazing improvement considering ZOS said it wouldn't.

It really makes you think; the community has been asking for hardware upgrades for years and people constantly said it wouldnt change anything.

If ZOS would have just done this from the start, instead of trying everything under the sun to avoid upgrading the hardware, the PVP community would have been in such a better place by now. Not to mention the poor devs who had to rebalance all the sets in the game for the whole "calculations" myth would have been spared such a horrendous task.

Regardless, this is the best performance in years and I'm very happy that we can all enjoy the game the way its supposed to be played.

Less lag but big fights can still crash you, and then you get several “lost lobby connection” attempts in a row.

Overall it feels a bit strange to me that so many people are praising ZOS for doing something that makes this part of the game, a game people paid for, finally more playable after years. If a shop sells you a faulty tv and then after a loooong time of you contacting the shop to say the tv is faulty they finally show up and repair the tv… would you praise the place you bought the tv from?

It works out for you, in the end, to act grateful when you get things you’ve wanted. It’s also a natural response for most people.

Also… to your tv hypothetical… if I may add to it: they didn’t fix the tv for years. You had tons of time to buy another tv… stop paying for that faulty tv (tv being… games,) you honestly already owned a couple other TVs but you chose to continue watching the faulty one— so how faulty was it really?

If someone magically fixes your favorite game… you act happy and say thank you.

It is completely ok to be grateful for progress while understanding things should not have been passed on that long, and there is still work to do. Olive branch is extended and it's more encouraging for good will to continue to be accepted rather than swat it down hatefully.

So the only cons I've encountered are....

-There is still a chance of getting booted to the log in screen while approaching a keep that has a large zerg of players fighting.

-There is the possibility of getting the 'infinite queue bug' where the position doesn't change no matter how long you wait. I find this very annoying considering the queues are around 75+ or more.

Otherwise, fighting in Cyrodiil feels almost lag free, even with the Volendrung out. :)

Yes, computers are so magical! They probably hired Harry Potter to wave his wand over the Cyrodiil servers to fix them. ;)

Came in today to check and it is totally, 100% gone from NA pvp.

I am in New Zealand, and it is the reason the game became unplayable for me and I quit ESO Sept 21. A quick search of my posts will find plenty of rants before rage quitting exodus with a large guild group and most of NA to pvp on New World. (Which by the way, has late night pvp 7 nights a week, long after ESO folk are napping, and 3x3 starting in May).

The hammer though is still broken, causing sound and fps crashing, the queue is broken, and something also sometimes get borked and the ability bar fails to work until someone kills you.

So yeah -ESO pvp is no longer lagging, your skills will go out but now your actual skill matters, which is entertaining in itself :P Give it a go.

The other old issues remain -no new content, hammer crashing etc. And people can't play with the queue.

Also at some point, with the original pvprs leaving, they have introduced some purple circle set to allow pve players to kill the remaining groups who pvpd. Literally some random pug kid puts on the set, stands there, and gets 'balance' in the fight by wiping team groups. That's how desperate Zos seems to have gotten.

Just block dark convergence lol. Just wait until you discover what Plaguebreak does :p

Now we are losing our minds because the Q times are baaad, 2hr Qs on each faction. Zos needs to fix this asap!

Could it be true? Is this real life? Is ESO pvp worth playing now?

They can't really "fix" this as its a population cap and isn't really something to be fixed , they can only make more servers available unless we are wanting even more players in a campaign though 2 hrs does sound insane and possibly buggy, never even seen wvw in GW2 get anywhere near that queue at its highest player count, maybe 30-40 min tops but maybe there really is that many ppl playing.

According to a YouTube video by deltia they replaced some hardware on the NA servers that was 10 years old!! So this was about money after all and not a hardware shortage during Covid because this predates Covid by eight years 😆

This is another clear problem. Hard to keep people interested in PvP with long queues, ones which you will get booted if you don't move around while waiting.

Now I personally wish they would make it less rewarding (especially in IC, a different area) to gank newbies/questers. Yes, have some consequence of getting killed, but minimal rewards so the focus is on PvP (perhaps more rewards for taking over an area instead) rather than killing the lone quester.

That and make it so 1 player can't fight off a group seemingly forever.

If it really has improved performance (pc eu here, so I don't know), they should start increasing the pop-lock limit from like 30v30v30 to a more reasonable number again as the first thing to see how well it really does, and more importantly, to bring eso pvp one step closer to what it was before.

Once that happens, and of course, they deliver the re-writing the code promise, I will renew my sub and might even buy crowns again despite the recent outrageous crown price hike on steam.

    Let's see.

What's broken on PvP? It works for me as how it should be, expect for the lagging and freezing sometimes. The only thing which I don't like it like some players are "immortal". And even though I'm experienced I don't want to be on their level.
