POLL: Tanks, how do you feel when someone in the group has the Maw of the Infernal equipped?

Now, pets that pull enemies, specially bosses before I do... that's a different thing. If you don't control your pets I'll be chain-gripping the enemies you're focusing on out of your sight.

We did an all sorc run of vAA once for fun where we did pretty much what you have: everyone had two summon pets, the Maw helm and a pet out, even the tanks. Even though I hate Maw for real serious runs, it was fun to try - but we all crashed a lot through the whole thing.
Just imagine High Isle too. Instead of daedra running around impeding the view, it's going to be a million werewolves running the 1 bar mythic. It'll sound like a recording of a dog park repeated multiple times simultaneously in dungeons and pvp.
I have never had that happen but I let those who pull arggo or make tanking hard/annoying take the role I instanced with since they want it bad enough to make tanking impossible for me and just roll to my front bar for DPS or assist the healer with my back bar.
No worries you know it is a game and the best way to teach party mechanics to a n00b who cannot teamwork is to let them fail. After all as a Necro I can just run away and resurrect people as needed.
I'm always moving away from it and the thing is always moving again above my character. This problem is so old, it's already reported so many times... it should have been solved yet. Just delete the damn thing from the game (it's useless anyway) or just give tanks an option to disable it.
Meanwhile I decided to leave groups when someone has the Maw of the Infernal equipped. People who equip that trash should never play in a group with any tank.
Sometimes, I try to taunt my ally's Deadroth when I meet so many of mobs in dungeon.
But, not so problem for me.

Farewell Atsuko Tanaka...(-_-) I never forget epic acting for major Motoko Kusanagi.
Whatever. I'm used to tanking inside a Daedroth's mouth. I know what I'm doing, even if I get shoved into first-person and see nothing but fire.
I will say I did miss Schnappi for a while so it is nice to see him back.
But I remember one charity run my guild did a while back where all 12 of us ran nMoL with no gear except crafted white weapons and a reconned Maw helm. That was an amazing amount of fun.
I haven’t had any memorable trouble with it though it would be nice if it were togglable, at least with the show additional ally effects setting. What I find more annoying is when people stand or run behind me. Makes it hard to focus.

It would be so nice if polls had more objective choices: straight to the point and without the needless text that just shows the poll maker's bias.
In any case, the only time I can recall the Maw being a problem was, unsurprisingly, during a vBC2 run. However, it was problematic more on the funny side than the rage-inducing one. I used to run dungeons with some DPSies who even had affectionate names for their daedroths (like Jeff), so the big lizards weren't a bother.

You're welcome to use whatever you like and quite frankly it makes sense to use Maw on occasion. However Maw can become a nuisance when its either mistaken for a mob or it makes me unable to see the boss.
In general running with Maw once in a while is fine but if it were to become a constant thing I'd have to ask the group to change to something else because I also ask the group to put followers away and in many ways Maw (or even regular Sorc summons) can become a nuisance and are better left out of the way when doing a dungeon run. Add to that, if you refuse to put the pet away, even temporarily, then you're not really someone I'd want in my group then because on some runs there's so much happening I need to be able to see the boss and keep up my rotations, not to mention Maw visual effects concealing boss effects.
In short, Maw is great for PvP but for PvE I'd suggest folks please consider using something that doesn't add to the problems already happening. We ask that you please put followers and pets away for a reason, this is no different.
As a tank who himself is blasting fire all over the Bosses, I don't mind it.
I know my rotation and how to sidestep things, so it's never bothered me.
And anyway. . .
I like Jeff's!
Yeah I know my rotation too but sometimes the boss will move or there's so many effects going on its very difficult to follow the situation. I also try and keep an eye on the rest of the Team, (so I can support *them*) including where they're at and what's going on and then to have this big hulking lizard breathing fire in front of me just causes chaos.
But it also depends on the run. Some boss are no trouble to tank, but others are especially if the group is not very strong. Its just better to be prepared to put Maw away in case it gets in the way. Or if it matters that much to them they can find a new tank but I guarantee you if they're of the sort that refuses to listen then they will cause other problems as well and not what you want in your group because they are putting themselves ahead of the group and being a little selfish.
I am a DD or Healer and I hate it. (Even I can't see things sometimes.)
I can't understand how some people put up with it. I find it irritating even when it's mine. I can't see anything with that thing stomping around, and I've been playing a petsorc for years. Admittedly it's pretty funny at dolmens when I don't care who hits what, but otherwise, I find it makes fights harder.
