Better controls would be nice... hvy attack to attack target isnt too bad but recalling them is awkward. in crucial situation yur both dead trying to hit Y/right click.

maybe something more configurable so we can program our mouse buttons even!

Second, I'd also like Rapport changes... definitely to INCREASE the positive rapport!! It is extremely punishing for players who have alts; it has been a year since Mirri and Bastian have been released and I still haven't received enough positive rapport for to get any of their personal quests!! :(
On my main character, I spent a couple of weeks doing the Fighters Guild daily quest to increase Mirri's rapport, and the Mages Guild daily quest to make Bastian happy. I also took Mirri into Sanguine's Demense and Bastian into Artaeum on a daily basis to get the +10 bump for each. It's not difficult, but it IS a grind, which is why I only did it on my main. (Once I maxed out the rapport, I then switched to take Mirri into the Mages Guild and Bastian to the Fighters Guild to raise their skill lines, just for the sake of thoroughness.) My alts just drag one or the other around on regular adventuring, and the rapport is inching up little by little.

Ability to change companion gear trait would be nice.

As would the ability to upgrade companion gear.

If Achievements are going account-wide, and if companion skills and gear are account-wide already, then why not Companion Rapport? Set the global rapport to the highest value currently held by any one character in the account (NOT the combined added value!), then have that value adjusted by all characters in the account in future.

Remap E to almost anything else (for them & other quest NPCs)! (CTRL-ALT_Z) maybe

    1. We need to be able to change their hair and give them hats/helmets
    2. We need to be able to mute them
    3. I'd also love to be able to give them polymorphs, like the skeleton or goblin polymorphs

Weapon/Spell damage, Armor/Spell resists, Penetration, and Minor/Major Force (have at least 1 pc Focused) work on Companions.

-Rapport decreases have to be removed. Decreases only makes companions annoying in certain situations, like Bastian and looting stolen items, or Mirri and torchbugs. Rapport decreases also make companions feel punishing whenever they receive those. Just have companions say something when we do anything they do not like, but remove the rapport decreases.
**note: At the very least remove and do not create new rapportdecreases with regular crafting dailies, if decreases are not removed entirely.**

It would be nice if you get a companion to be maxed out, they come to trust you and rapport decreases are eliminated unless you do something that is totally against their moral code. Thieves troves, for example, have always puzzled me. Wouldn't Bastian approve of me thwarting a theif's plan by taking the thing they stole? Honestly!

And if Mirri has given her trust to someone, certainly she can overlook taking a few torchbugs...

It seems natural that companions' rapport decreases would lessen as they reach higher levels of trust.

Give me one that I can customize myself, then I'll start caring about what they do in game(You can still Solo hard mode everything in this game without ever needing a companion). To me they're more like an RP thing- and you can't even put a helmet on their head HaAHhahA.

I just ran a test with Molten Armements and had an odd result that I at first couldn't explain. Mirri's damage went up, but only for 20 seconds instead of the 35 second that Molten Armements lasts on my character. So, turns out Mirri gets the minor brutality from the Mountain's Blessing passive, triggered by casting an Earthen Heart ability but she doesn't receive the Major Brutality from Molten Armements.

It's nonsense like this that I would want a clear answer from the devs on what works and what not

I have 15 characters on my main account.
15 times I had to go fetch Mirri and Bastian.
I would have preferred it if once I had picked them up, they would be available for all the rest of my stable.

I would also have preferred it as well that everyone could progress the rapport, rather than it be individual per character. Even if they put a limit on the amount of big rapport points from the mages, fighters, dailies etc.
Once the companion story mission was done by one, then it was done by all. I can dream...

Their stories aren't interesting enough to be done by everyone multiple times.

Helmets/hats/hairstyles. They can just remove them when you're talking to them, like the player's is removed at a crafting station.

As far as having to pick them up on each of your characters, I understand the frustration. But I also kinda like the realism of it. Why would a companion, who's a complete stranger to you until you meet them in their initial quest, agree to help you out. Well, OK, Bastian probably would. What if, once you completely leveled up rapport and whatever else you need to do to place them in your home, your other characters could pick them up in your home? At that point they would still give their initial quest and you can choose to do it, or not, but they'd be immediately available to use as a companion.

A toggle to disable rapport going deductions after you've maxed it. I like companions, and there are many great suggestions in this thread. But it makes me nuts to not be able to play how I like without being punished by them. They cab still remark all they want when I do stuff they dislike. But having to summon and unsummon them for so many things is annoying.
Bastian already makes the negative 'have you so little regard for life' sometimes when I kill critters, but no rapport decrease - thankfully. I guess he was supposed to have the decrease, like Mirri with torchbugs.

What's to grind? Just have them out while you do stuff in the game. Play normally and they'll be maxed eventually.

"Eventually" has a huge range and I'm talking about how it feels and to me and it feels too long. It's also set-up to favor grinders who just pick a spot and kill many mobs, not those of us who also quest when the companion gets 0 advancement from quest completions. There is not just one "playing normally" although I would argue that questing is more "normal" than grinding.

But that's not the worst part. The rapport advancement system is worse unless you happen to just play one character and always do the dailies that give +125 rapport every day.

I want my companion to come into my house with me - just like a warden bear can. She can come into any tavern so why not my own home? When I pop into a house to process stuff before going out again, it seems odd/empty that the companion does not come in as well. So, very much a roleplay thing for me - and a 'houseguest dummy' simply rubs salt into the wound that my companion can't come into my house. From a practical perspective, I'd love to be able to (inside my home), have Mirri take out my Precursor all by herself and see what kind of dps report I get on her. I can get an easy dps report on my bear, but not on my companion?

Companions should be able to store their own gear.

Companion gear should be upgradable and deconstructable.
