Any chance you could spoil the locations of the founders for me, @Saucy_Jack? I seem to be too stupid to find them on my own and I couldn't find any information on it yet.

I found one Founder (the Author).

in The Hollow City in Cold Harbor. She doesn't accept my challenge though.
She's here, where my character marker is:

Will be looking for the others later, didn't have much time for that yet.

The Ansei Deck Fragment locations can be read from their item descriptions as well, ESO-Hub have those listed, as they extract the data from the game itself.

Same with the Maormer Deck fragments. As @Saucy_Jack suspected, they drop from the Founders indeed. Even if I can't find the Founders yet, I at least know their names this way.

I have now found all of the founders on my template character, but I can't start a game against them. They all seem to accept my challenge, say something like "Let's start the game!" and then no game starts. I just get put back in 3rd person view. The NPC then starts talking and congratulates me on my victory - which didn't happen because I never played a game against them.

I guess it is buggy because I am on a template character who has all decks already. Does it work for any of you guys? Maybe someone here didn't play on a template?

I found the author now as well (thanks Svenja), but I can't play her either.
There are 2 dialog options:
1) Let's test that. Play me.
2) Let's test that. I challenge you.

If I select option 1, she says no, that I have to defeat other Founders.
If I select option 2, it looks like she's ok with playing, but once I select let's play Tribute, the game just quits out of the dialogue. What she says sounds like what she's supposed to say when you beat her, but nothing else happens.

Gonna see whether the ghost wants to play me, maybe then the author plays you as well.

Edit: same with the ghost. 1 dialogue option she won't let me play her, the other one just quits out of the dialogue, she says something along the lines of me freeing her by beating her, she disappears for a moment, then reappears.

I don't know where the other founders are, but they're probably all bugged in the same way.
Not a template-character here.

Sounds like you have the exact same issue as me. Are you on a copied character from NA, or are you on a template? I have both talk options (the one where they answer I am too low rank or have not enough cards, and the one where they seem to accept my challenge) on all 5 of them. Nobody wants to plaaaay

I have tried all 5 of them now, if they "accept" my challenge, no game starts, but they congratulate me on my victory. I guess it's because the template character has the deck already. I will try again when the EU charatcers are copied onto the PTS and I can play with my main char who won't have the decks then.


Last three locations:

Linyia: Craglorn, Shada's tear, right in front of the dungeon entrance
Nhorhim: South Eastmarch, tunnel/cave just south of "Hermit's Hideout"
Murzaga: Inside castle Ravenwatch (this one was annoying, as my template hadn't done the rivenspire main quest and the castle is closed unless you do the first quest... she's on the upper floor

Copied character here and don't have the decks. Also I'm max level at the game.
Thanks for the locations. Gonna try the others as well and update this post, but probably gonna be the same.

Edit: It's the same with all the founders. Also didn't unlock the deck. I would have been surprised since it didn't look like I got any of the fragments, but I checked to be sure.
I'm gonna post this in the bugs thread as well.

I am not on a template and the same thing happened for me.
I have only found 2 founders so far, but same as you on both.

I've compiled my Founder findings into a little guide for ESO-Hub with Map Screenshots etc.

Will update/change the guide once we can test more, obviously. For example, from her dialogue, I suspect the Author to be the last founder we have to challenge, but can't really test yet when none of them let's you play against them.

I tried playing 2 of the founders on a second account, also non-template-character, also max level. Same thing. I didn't check the other 3, but I doubt they would have been different.

The founders are still broken after the update (at least the one in Coldharbour is). I didn't expect them to be fixed, since it doesn't say anything about it in the patch notes, but I thought I'd check anyway and let you guys know.

One clue I got for a founder suggests they are in a place that my character can't access and is part of a lengthy zone quest. Either I'm barking up the wrong tree or this is going to be a pita for ppl that haven't done that zone yet.

The founder is inside, but you have to do the quest line to open house.
Those that havent done quest cant access the founder.

I had the same "problem" with castle Ravenwatch, as I am on a Template character who hasn't done any quests.

To get into castle Ravenwatch, you only need to do the very first zone quest, "SHornhelm Divived". It took me about 10-15 minutes, that was an okayish amount of time imo. You don't need to do the whole quest line.

Founder-test on the current patch:

1)After beating the questline:
The Author wants you to beat other founders before you can play her.
Nhorhim wants you to get a bigger collection before he wants to play you.
The other 3 let you play them right away.

2) After beating those 3, still none of the other 2 wanna play.
3) After 'cheating in' all decks by creating a template-character, you can play Nhorhim. After Nhorhim, you can play the Author.

So for Nhorhim to play you, you need to have 6 or 7 decks unlocked (well, assuming it's not bugged). Just getting Red Eagle through the questline isn't enough. I'll leave it to someone else to test whether you need 1 or 2 more decks.

Now none of the founders have any dialogue when you beat them, by the way. You do unlock their fragments, though.

I already have 6 decks unlocked and I still can't play with Nhorhim. It's probably bugged... so, better give up on this until fixed.

I guess you have to have all 7 other decks unlocked before he lets you play him.
