I don't see other players' health bars when they are standing in town.
I can see both names if I mouse over them but I can't mouse over everyone I run into to see if I recognize them. And then I see their titles too which is distracting from the names.
I'd just like to see something like Character Name @ User ID.
It would be better from an account security point of view to remove the User ID altogether from public display, failing which the displayed User ID should not be the same as the login ID.
It would be nice if ZOS would port the pChat functionality to consoles. With the addon you can select either, or, or both.

You can turn on health bars in the game settings, I always have them on for other players as I like to throw random people some healing if they are low on HP when I run by them.
I agree this would be a nice option to have, maybe it could simply replace titles, as I I think there could be too much bloat if it had 3 lines of text. Of course we would choose in settings to turn on Title or Account name for the second line.It would be better from an account security point of view to remove the User ID altogether from public display, failing which the displayed User ID should not be the same as the login ID.
No, that would lead to more in game trolling and abuse. We NEED to be able to see people's Account name to be able to report them as well as to avoid them totally if we want to. Avoid as in - not reply to them in chat. If it just showed Char names we would never know if we are talking to the same person if they simply change char. I know we can block them (ignore), but sometimes I like to simply ignore people instead. This way I have 2 layers or options:
1 - Totally ignore people who have gone out of their way to abuse me or others in a very bad way. For this I put on block list.
2 - To simply just not reply to said person, but can still see their chat to see if they have changed their attitude or are still talking about me or others. Some people simply have bad days, we all do, so this option is good here, as the next time you see the person they may act totally different.
...That's an objection to my first preference, to remove User ID from public display, but it works both ways - you may want to know if another character is the same player who has been abusing you, but that player may abuse you further when you log in another character with the same User ID.

I have not changed any options, that is the default.

Without mousing over the player?
In open world you can always see the ID followed by char name or vice-versa. The option to choose between ID and character name is related to how it will be displayed on nameplates, the chat window, in the group and group chat and it also changes the order of how it's displayed:SilverBride wrote: »Without mousing over the player?katanagirl1 wrote: »That is odd. Is there really that much abuse going on? I experienced that once in WoW but never here.
I just want to recognize if I run into someone I know by their User ID, but I enjoy seeing the names they gave their characters too.
Both ways are displayed if you mouse over the player anyway so why not display both?
