The last two event drop rates have been absolutely abhorrent.

The Jester's Festival drop rates were absolutely terrible. I opened my gold box, got nothing but BREECHES every single day until the last day when I got shoes. Thankfully I was able to trade for the other pieces of the Second Seed Raiment that I needed.

For the first several days I opened DOZENS of purple boxes on multiple characters. (Four characters a day.) And got absolutely nothing but banners and crafting materials.

Now during the Jubilee, I'm opening 21 boxes every single day on multiple characters. Seven crafting from my main, plus dailies for World Bosses, Delves, Undaunted, Mages Guild and Fighters Guild. (Three characters a day due to how long it takes.)

That's 63 boxes a day. I have gotten nothing but spider legs and one firepot. No style pages for Saberkeel.

The event drop rates lately have been absolutely unacceptable. I should not have to grind 10+ characters for 7 - 8 hours a day to get a single style page.

I sincerely hope that this is a bug caused by Update 33, and will be remedied in the future.

Why did you include this mechanic? I would love to know whose idea that was. NEVER in the past have we had to spend tickets to assemble pet fragments.

Please increase the drop rate of event boxes. Events are special for a reason. Now I have to spend in excess of 1 - 2 million gold buying the Saberkeel pages because people list them for 80 - 150k gold per page these days due how to trash the drop rate is. And most casual players can't afford that. Only the people that grind 18 characters and sell crowns can afford to throw away that kind of gold. And I am not one of those players.

This behavior of poor drop rates for costume parts, event boxes, and crates, makes me think they want to inflate the player economy, so people will be driven to buy crowns to sell for gold just so they can afford the styles and pages they want. When in reality, most casual players will simply go without, or walk away from the game.

You answered it yourself, it's to encourage spending more tickets, which if are depleted, completionists will turn to the store to supplement them.

That's not low drop rate, that was an intentional and explicitly communicated choice they made to only drop one per day max. You can not get one if you've gotten one that day. This is not a defense of the drop rate just clarifying what's happening. I do think they should have handled Saberkeel differently. It was an over-correction to the overwhelming drop rates in previous jubilees. And one that is still there for the spider parts.

You can buy the spider pet thing later if there's another event you don't feel is as tight on tickets.

My experience is that the drop rate in Jester's was fine. A bit too RNG dependent, but it was just the one box per day and you could get multiple pages. You probably would need to trade, but doing the one quest a day was enough to get everything. Except the Sovereign Sow.

Also this isn't the first time this kind of thing happens. The Mayhem PVP events are notorious for having low drop rates on their style pages, in addition to having very limited sources.

You can only get one per day because ZOS want them to be scarce. Probably with the hope that the set will be so hard/expensive to complete that people who want it will buy event tickets in cash shop to finish up learning style . If you get a Saberkeel page, stop opening anniversary boxes. Leave them in your inventory and open them the next day. Since you often have to open dozens and dozens before you even get that lone Saberkeeel page, you might as well give yourself a head start for next day.

They should give a guaranteed drop of 1/day if they are going to 1. have horrible RNG like this and 2. limit the drop to no more than 1/day anyway. PLUS, code it to not give you doubles until you collect the whole set.

(Also, instead of the firepot parts, they could have just had it start giving you older style/motif pages from the event like worm cult.)

Apparently I've been quite lucky. I got my Saberkeel page both days on my first character's crafting writs. And I got 6/7 Seed pages during the Jester event, from the gold boxes. Plus some Cadwell ones I'd been missing. No Sow parts, though.

Yay, RNG.

Yeah, but not getting one at all in 60 boxes is a little weird? Sounds more like a glitch then something that is meant to happen. Especially when you have people that get it within the first few boxes.

I've always been worried that my launch day character is broken in some way. I've had this character since day one. lol

I do have a broken stam sorc. Whenever I use skills, she can't pick up anything or interact with containers or resource nodes until I bash.

So, I am not beyond believing that my character is bugged.

I got nothing from the jester event worth having. I did only the one quest to get tickets which I spent on repair kits.

The drop rate for anything good was so small it was invisible.

At least the anniversary drops have crafting goods, drop rate on spider parts is huge and contributes to global warming as I have to have a bonfire at the end of the day to rid my inventory of unwanted stuff.

All in all I got two motifs from jester but won't waste tickets on the rest. Maybe they will be filled in at a later date.

I completed all Seed, Regalia, and the remaining 8 Cadwell’s pages I needed, during Jester’s - with smart trades - and have about half a dozen pages to spare. Drops rates were quite good, IMHO.

Jubilee I have 2 new style pages so far, and a 3rd one from alt accnt… also, quite good.

Getting swamped with crafting good is great if you have ESO+.

No, that's just how RNG works. Some people will get them in the first few boxes, some will get them in later boxes, some won't get them for a day or two, some will get them every day. The article, afaik, doesn't say the Style is a guaranteed drop, and if it was it would drop from the first box every day and that's clearly not happening for everyone.

So it's just cruddy RNG being cruddy RNG.

Honestly RNG will always be RNG. I 've gotten two pieces in the first two days, and I only do dailies on 2 characters, I'm not even doing delves or WB to get extra stuff. Just be patient and continue doing your dailies, at this point its like blaming the dealer for giving you a bad hand, when its just your bad luck.

Hope you find what your looking for, I'm just happy to see gold letters when ever I open a box and go on with my day.

Grinding for 5 - 8 hours a day on multiple characters and not getting a single style page is not free stuff.

I work in retail, dealing with b-holes that don't wear masks and give me all kinds of grief all day. My time is valuable, I have other things to do. I gotta get up at 5:30 and go to work, then come home and unwind by playing ESO, which then becomes another job. That is not free. Gotta cook, shower, watch some of my favorite shows occasionally.

Free would be if it was just in the crown store, or the Daily Rewards for zero cost. My time has value.

I don't know if it'll work for you but after weeks of back and forth tickets one person told me to strip ALL(every piece) of gear off the character and let the slaughter fish kill me. At the time I began thinking the techs were tired of hearing from me and having some fun but I went skinny dipping and it worked. Don't know if it'll work for you but /shrug.

Doing daily writs on 18 characters nets 126 boxes. With the right setup, you can complete that in around an hour or less, depending on your load times, and which zone you choose. I suggest either Vvardenfell, or preferably, Blackwood. You can also run in Summerset, but the layout is less optimal, and Starlight Bride of Alinor finished that place for me forever. Even if your characters are level 1 crafters, get them writ certified and have them all go to work. It’s easily the most time-efficient way of getting boxes.

I personally run a considerable number of characters and accounts, but it takes me around two hours to clear them all. Some characters did earn three pages, which seems to suggest that more than one can somehow be earned per day, or maybe the game glitched.

Most of my other alts, just have the base level of each craft, and no passives. The gold you get is based on character level, not crafting tier; you can use the basic/cheap/easy crafting materials for the gear crafting writs; and you just need to be whatever level it takes to unlock crafting (5? 10?) Plus it's just the first level cooking recipes, which are also cheap & readily available.

Writs are the only dailies I bother doing for this event. /shrug

Well, they said die, and suggested the slaughter fish(Im not sure why. Style? Gotta admit skinny dipping with a bunch of piranha sounds better than falling off a rock. Maybe you had to res at a way shrine? /Shrug dunno) I read there was another bug this helped with early in the game once.all I know is that it worked for me. Good luck with it though

These events should be fun. Grinding for hours to get one style page is not fun. If you keep giving out good stuff people will keep playing. Rewarding play with low level stuff does not encourage more play.

The last few events have shown me that I should just do the minimum to get my tickets and then do what I want to do after that, even if it’s just farming mats. At least I will know what to expect and can enjoy the scenery.

Writs are the only dailies I bother doing for this event. /shrug

I will give it a try, thank you. All of my other characters are max level, just their crafting is not, is what I meant. And I have almost 1500 champion ranks if that matters.

From monster trophies to event rewards drop rates in this game are sad. ZOS wants us to spend more time in game, fine, for an online game time = money, but they fail to
a) grasp the balance between grind time and reward - many things are not worth the time. 50 pieces for a costume? Thousands of mobs for a paw or a wing?
b) make the grind even moderately fun - most of repeatable content is mind-numbingly boring. Like, delve dailies are all absolutely identical, meaningless and all the running around feels like a complete waste of time. At least put all the crap near the entrance.

Though I must admit, the sticker book was a really good addition, at least if I want an item I have choice to farm it, or farm transmutes and materials.
