When will ZOS ever fix the door bug in dungeons?

I was doing City of ash earlier today and my party and I got the door lock bug after killing the mini-boss and all of the npcs... we were still in combat regardless of not being any enemy NPCs around us. We had to stealth up and pray for the door to open to reach the final boss...

This bug seems to happen quite a lot in way rest sewers too.

I just hope that ZOS would fix this bug because it's been going on for the past several years now.

I have noticed that these door bugs often seem related to being in combat. Just like how you cannot use a mount when in combat, I suspect some doors are designed so you can't skip past content. When the doors don't work, look to see if any combat is still happening as in skills that have not finished their timer. After that it probably takes a few more seconds to register. To me, it seems like it also might be connected our own skills. If I had dropped an AOE, the boss died and the AOE was still active I could not go through the door. But when the AOE was done, a little bit after, I could. Or sometimes one or two of a mob might be left and hiding someone unintentionally. So that keeps you in combat and you cannot go through the doors. i think this is the issue and I don't think it is a bug but more of an intentional design. Just like how you cannot escape combat by hopping on your mount. You have to stay and fight or run.

Its not technically a bug. Its mobs that have been aggro'd and left alive somewhere back in the dungeon. it happens so much in Wayrest because the crocodiles and other mobs like to aggro then chase you until they are under the grates at the start. If you ensure that you kill everything you won't get stuck waiting at the door.

That said I think they need to update these old dungeons to have doors like Fang Lair, probably update where mobs spawn in so that they will actually die and not get left behind somewhere or change how long it takes for them to reset themselves.

dungeon mobs as far as im aware basically have no "tether" range like the ones in overland, but they are physically limited to where they will go (they wont be able to follow you past certain doors, etc)

as noted they do eventually reset after a long enough period of time with no combat, but i think a lot of this problem stems from being unable to use normal interactions while in combat

many of these doors if they didnt want you to skip bosses (say city of ash 1), are flat out locked and unable to be used until the bosses are killed (in city of ash 1 you cannot say just run straight to the back to try to go to the door to the last boss until the other bosses are killed, another example is stormfist in tempest island, you can easily get past this one without aggroing him but the door will be "locked" until you kill him)

It's not a bug. Just everyone sneak for 5 seconds and you can go through. Either kill all the mobs you encounter, or sneak before each door, or use invisibility pots to skip

Be careful what you ask for. ZOS will take this, turn every dungeon into a one-room arena where you just wait for enemies to spawn and say that “the community has been asking for this for years”. /s

In Tempest Island one day I figured out the reason why the door after the Strom Atronach boss wouldn't open was because there was an add from just before him that is stuck behind one of the Ayleid walls still aggroed, and there was no way to damage him through the wall.
So, we just had to stay by they door 'til it stopped like always. I'd say that one's a bug.

Idk why the other times in other dungeons happen. But I've seen enemies stuck in walls in this game before. It's entirely possible there are adds in dungeons that are aggroed and stuck somewhere we can't touch them.

A few abilities will hurt this add. So far I've seen templar spears, warden shards, destro ult, and one of the DK skills (can't remember which one) work on it.

It's bad pathing on some door bugs. Tempest is one explain that's fairly new

Wayrest just needs port into boss fights for that issue with crabs. The crodile issue we can just kill them

One other annoying add is stuck in the ceiling right before Veledreth. You can use Dark Convergence to pull him out and kill him.
