Alchemy Surveys should include mushrooms and animals materials too.

Within the Alchemy Daily quests there is often Violet Coprinus and Mudcrab Chitin required as part of the "hand in X materials in addition to the potion" part of the quest. However there is almost never a direct reward in these resources (according to my statistics addon less than 1% in over 2 years). Also those resources are never obtained in the Alchemy Surveys as those surveys only cover overland flower-type plants.

Probably as a those resources are alot overpriced. See the attached TTC prices. So each time you get a quest with these resources you are making a loss since you only get about 500 gold per quest and you will need to pay alot more to purchase them.

My suggestion is a) adding them in the direct reward caches more often and b) including mushrooms and animal materials into Alchemy survey nodes as well (there is the model of the Alchemist Purse which could be used for that).

I would suggest four regular nodes and two Alchemist’s Satchels at alchemy survey locations, just like the cloth surveys are done.

Agreed. I've got way more flowers than mushrooms and chitin.

    I like this idea too.

I've taken to hunting mudcrabs for a lot of the 'kill X with weapon/class skills' or 'poison X enemies' endeavours as a way of getting more chitin, but that doesn't really help with mushrooms. For those I've just found I'm actually more likely to go out of my way to collect the nodes because I know I'm unlikely to get them another way.

I think mudcrab chitin and nirn root are the ones ones I've actually run out of in recent years (early on of course I had less of everything) but whenever I'm crafting something I notice I have far less of the mushrooms than flowers. I'm always short of insect parts too, but I don't use those as often.

I've wondered why they don't. Those violet coprinuses cost near 1k on NA PC. I'll be damned if I do those writs.

And don't get me started on farming beetle scuttle, spider eggs, mudcrab chitin or scrib jelly. The drops from these things are freaking shameful.

And let's not even get into how I can run four darkshade cavern pledges in one day and consider myself lucky if I get 1 scib on each. That's just rude.

And frankly, I think there should be something in the alchemy skill passives that let's you get more mats from nodes and more drops from monsters because you are a skilled alchemist. Skilled alchemists generally would learn how to care for and properly collect such things so that monsters in particular would more regularly give you mats back from their corpses. That should be in the passives.

And why in the heck do I have to be a murderer to get a pouch of mushrooms. Why is THAT a passive in the murder line but not in the alchemy? Yeah, poisons, I get it. But also, yeah, alchemists, also part of my trade, no?

But you know, mushrooms are rare and expensive, so why would they make any QoL improvements?

Maybe RANDOM, separate mushroom surveys in delves?

The Alchemist emails should contain Fungi, Water Plants and Animal Parts and the Surveys cant continue to be the standard flowers. That would probably have less a chance of breaking the game if they made this simple change.

So I guess my question would be,

Why do I only get 1 flower when I harvest a plant? Well it seems like I do, maybe I am wrong.

I get 3 ore or 3 wood for example.

I know plants have more than 1 leave, flower or whatever. Seems to me you might get more than one.

If you have the Plentiful Harvest going you get more but seems like planet/alchmey harvest are a bit skimpy.

While we are at this let's also give survey nodes a chance to drop furnishing nodes. AND add provisioning surveys to the game as well. That have a chance to drop P Roe or AD.

They pretty much have added a way to get the mushrooms - The bequester in Outlaws Refuge. I have 10 crafters all collecting mushrooms from him everyday. They all add up and are quickly building up to the same amount of herbs that I have. I mean you get 9 mushrooms/herbs or body parts (yes he gives Fleshfly Larva, Spider Eggs and I am sure Butterfly Wings as well) from him every day per char unless you get the alliance potions instead that he sometimes gives. Some days you get zero Alchemy Surveys, so you can see how they can add up to similar amounts as your herb piles.

The only things he does not give are what this thread are dealing with:

      1 - Violet Coprinus

      2 - Mudcrab

They have also now added a way we can get the Violet Coprinus - Blackwood there is a house which is good for farming the Leyawiin furnishings that also has 2 mushroom spawns on a table. I log in and out of my main char in this house so that I can slowly obtain the Leyawiin furnishings and am also slowly building up my Violet Coprinus stock as well.

As for mudcrabs, they are easy to kill so you could just get them yourself or buy. On console they go for 400 each, personally I just kill mudcrabs anytime I see 2 or more together. All of my chars have the soulgem skill line maxed so they gain the 10% chance to fill a soulgem anytime they kill creatures. This works great in combo with killing mudcrabs.

But I do agree, they SHOULD add another way to obtain them in game. People are always calling out for MORE gold sinks, I REALLY think they could kill 2 birds with one stone here. REWARD crafters by giving us a more fairer way to obtain crafting mats. SELL them from a vendor. I am meaning Heartwood, Mudane Runes etc too. Take the power out of the Bots hands and give it back to the crafters. Seriously we are the ones spending the most cash anyway, buying all the houses etc, throw us a bone back!

We really don't need Provisioning surveys. You only use 2 ingreds max for your daily craft and you are rewarded 30 back if not mistaken. Add to that another 40 from the daily mail and you can see how you NEVER need to even loot containers for the mats.....

It's Councilor Jirich's Manor. You need to start the Blackwood Story as you gain access to this house midway through the first quest. Doesn't take long to get to that tho. Maybe 10 mins at most.

I've been in there a few times and have never seen the mushrooms.

I see them now. I have to log into the room. But they aren't always violet coprinus. They've been others for me.

Yeah it's a mixed bunch but they do appear. You can farm them by going into Imperial city from inside the house and then walking out the IC door and respawning back in the house. Tedious but one of the best ways to farm containers/spawns :)

PS - you don't have to log into the room. Every time you enter an instance or a new map - all containers randomly spawn empty or loaded with stuff in them. It works the same for spawns such as the mushrooms. Either they spawn or don't, sometimes none will, other times you will see both or just one. It's plain RNG.

You need to change map or travel to another part of the map and back again for the containers/spawns to reset, as I said above, the quickest way is to just go to Imperial City and then walk out the door as that will take you right back to where you were before.
