At least until ZOS fixes it this will do. I just tested it on a world boss and a dozen or so various mobs and no issues with the camera.

Good luck with your use of it.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

This addon looks pretty... hmm.. comprehensive.

Did it fix the issue for you 'out of the box' or there was 'fiddling' involved?

Out of the box it worked perfectly for me. I've tried it on two characters and both had the camera issues previously as seen in the video I posted earlier. \
Now all is good. Still though, ZOS needs to fix this. We shouldn't need an old Addon to correct something introduced from a patch.

I wholeheartedly agree, but given that we don't have anything resembling an ETA for a fix and that I would very much like to keep playing this is a much appreciated workaround.

The issue is 10 times worse if you are running in stealth, and running in stealth is incidentally something I do for about an hour(ish) every day.

As soon as I'm home this evening I will give it a shot, thanks again.

It happened to me last night in Fargrave with my wood elf. I had my camera zoomed all the way out because I'd been running dungeons prior to going to Fargrave. The camera was still set that way when I began stealing.

The change from 3rd person to 1st person was very abrupt and not something I could control (I did try to stay away from any structures like walls and pillars).

I also noticed that sometimes the direction my character was facing changed after interacting with a container.

I didn't test any other characters because it was late and this bug gave me a headache. Will test some other races today.

    Thank you so much! <3

Since I installed the NTak Camera addon, I no longer have the issue with the camera.

I didn't even have to change any of its default settings.

For anyone who wants to try this, be sure to also install LibAddonMenu-2.0 along with it!

yup, fixed it for me as well.

Which might be another datapoint for the devs to look at...what does this addon do that overwrites/fixes this bug? I'm not a modder, so don't look at me. It's probably buried deep in the code.

Same here: When zoomed out completely, it's fine, and everything works as intended.
When zooming in, the issue starts to appear, after about seven ticks of the mouse wheel in.
    Zooming out fixes it again.

My Bosmer are moving weirdly now - I haven't noticed the camera issue as stated here, but when they run, their arms and legs seem "stiff", and the arms are held funny. I don't have any way to capture a video....

I noted this too. Very stiff back, hands open, slightly bouncy when jogging.

It goes away if you sprint for a sec.

    Weird.

I can also confirm that this bug has been present for since this dlc first entered the pts cycle. What characters this happens on seems to be completely random but sadly my main is one of them. On my main at least it seems to not care whether weapons are drawn or not or how far or close the camera is located. Once it collides with something I am forced into first person.

It added a good 40 minutes to my HM RPB run last night and has cause multiple deaths in Vateshran today where I just suddenly get thrown into first person and cannot see my own feet to know I'm in an AOE.

I was unable to fix it with any addons, have attempted playing without addons, and have uninstalled and reinstalled reshade to ensure it wasnt the cause of the problem. Updated to the latest graphics drivers and ran a repair, still no fix. Changed around a bunch of settings to see if I could induce a change, no luck (Display more, AA, vsync, AO)

As it turns out the suggested addon did not fix the issue for me either.

It seems to provide a small amount of 'relief' under very specific circumstances and I might still keep it because I like some of the functionality it offers, but sadly running in sneak for instance is still something best done on an empty stomach.

I recommend leaving at least an hour since the last meal before attempting to use Leyawiin's Outlaws Refuge too, or any narrow, vaulted corridors for that matter.

Also, another detail I just happened to notice is that apparently camera collision works just fine on water. At least for me that is. In my Moon Sugar I happened to notice when I lowered the camera to where it zoomed in over water it did just that, rather than snapping to first person.

Hello, to update on this; I found that putting the vertical offset to lower than -44 reproduces this bug instantaneously.
@ZOS_GinaBruno since you replied already in this thread that the team found this difficult to reproduce, I'm forwarding this information with a tag as well. There seems to be a threshold around there that if one goes under it, the bug comes into effect.

Or actually, now that I'm looking around at some other values, I'm not sure that's the thing. It does seem to become much more pronounced under a certain vertical offset value though.

Honestly this is what seems to trigger it for me, thought it's horizontal offset. I usually have it set to -77, so I slid it to -40, an no more forced first person. It's been happening on all my characters with weapons out or not, but I also have those camera settings on all of them too, -77 horizontal and -38 vertical. I guess I'll just have my character a bit to the left of the screen until it gets fixed XD

This has been happening on my Argonian. I notice it most in Dhalmora, as that's where I pilfer lockboxes to work towards Black Market Mogul.

    * I'm on Stadia for the time being so no addons, does it on both my phone and a computer.
    * It happens whether I'm stealthed or not.
    * It happens regardless of whether I have my weapons drawn or sheathed.
    * It happens every time I come out of a house and super often in the enclosed crafting area, as well as inside the houses all the time as well.
    * My character is a Vampire and it happens regardless of what Stage she's at.
    * Class is Magicka Templar, and I have almost 1,390 CP.
    * Speaking of CP, her slotted ones are:

Gifted Rider, Steed's Blessing, Plentiful Harvest, Master Gatherer | Arcane Supremacy, Swift Renewal, Soothing Tide, Enlivening Overflow | Strategic Reserve, Siphoning Spells, Celerity, Rejuvenation. If it would help I can grab all her passive CP too.

I tested on my Stamsorc WW Redguard and didn't have these issues at all. Her slotted CP differ a bit, she has Treasure Hunter instead of Gifted Rider, Bloody Renewal instead of Siphoning Spells, and then all her Blue tree CP are DPS ones like Master-At-Arms, she doesn't share any of those CP with my Argonian.

I'll probably test a few more characters and see which, if any, of them have this issue. For now, have entirely too many clips because it's really the only way I have to record stuff in-game right, and Stadia only does 30-second clips.

    Glitchy camera on Stands:
    Crafting Area 1
    Crafting Area 2
    Crafting Area 3
    House 1
    House 2

    Normal camera on Krisiel:
    Crafting Area 1
    Crafting Area 2
    House 1
    House 2

As you can see, the camera likes to have a seizure for Stands, especially in smaller enclosed areas like the two houses. For Krisiel it only snaps to first person a small handful of times.

Edit, tested on a Breton Templar with practically no CP slotted or taken, and an Argonian Sorcerer whose CP I didn't check but I don't think she has any but mobility ones since she's an RP character only. Neither of them had these issues. I also tested on a Nord Nightblade Vampire whose CP I haven't redone since the reset not too long ago, and without any weapons or armor equipped, and also had no issues on him. Tested them all in the same place in Dhalmora.

If it helps I found a bit of a workaround which might imply what the problem is related to.

Normally in my camera settings I have the camera as low as it can go on the vertical axis. A workaround for this issue currently appears to be to raise it a little. This leads me to think there is a collider or raycast that is misaligned, or not scaled properly that is probably 'digging' into the ground and causing the camera to zoom all the way in to 1st person mode.

I dont know if somewhere else this was already posted.
But I think I was narrow the problem down to the vertical offset setting in third person
Anything below -50 seems to cause the bug.

Maybe that helps you to find the problem and thus a solution @ZOS_GinaBruno, if you still have trouble reproducing the problem.

I was able to "toogle" the bug by switching between -50 (no bug) and -52 (with bug).

For reference my other settings are:
    Global:
    Smoothing On
    Invert Y-Axis Off
    Field of Vew Changes On
    Assasination Camera Off
    Screen Shake 0

    Third Person:
    Rotation Speed 50
    Field of View 130
    Horizontal Position 0
    Horizontal Offset 0
    Siege Weaponry: Free

That helped a lot ExoY, thanks! It was still a little glitchy for me at -50 (and for some reason it was reducing the setting by 1 more, so -48 became -47 on its own). I settled on -40 for now. My third-person settings are thus:

    Rotation Speed 60
    FOV 110
    Horiz Position 0
    Horiz Offset 0
Vert Offset -40 (used to be -60).

Hmmmm, I decided to try checking and changing the vertical offset on my Argo, but on the phone at least I have no vertical positioning for the camera, only horizontal. And I still only have one character being affected. I'll have to check those values next time I'm on a computer.

Yeah i did some further testing and the vertical offset appears to be not the only parameter effecting this bug.

The camera rotational speed might have an influence as well, but i didnt do further testing on this. (higher value -> bug is more likely)

Another theory I have is the character height playing the roll with smaller characters being more vulnerable to this bug:
I noticed that the bug was occuring more often on my smaller characters. The settings posted earlier were from my small female argonian. With my full sized male high elf I am able to go to vertical offset of -60 with the other settings beeing the same and still didnt get the camera bug.

Edit: Especially the last aspect would explain, why different people have come up with different thresholds for the bug to be triggered.

... what is the final solution now?
Is it up to the players, or about addon creators? Even after the last patch no improvement, so problem not solved on the part of ZOS. Has ZOS read in the meantime that it happens even without addons?
Is there any information if ...and when something will be done?

With all due respect, Matt Friror's letter was insightful, but now it would be nice to see some follow-up information and problem solving coming to the most noticeable bugs.

And,...with all due understanding, what acute bugs and lags are causing right now, but they are mutating more and more into real gamebreakers. Even fancy login rewards do not change that.
