All my crafting stations are in Pantherfang Chapel, and there are 25 overland sets in there (blacksmithing, clothing, woodworking, jewelry). Find them all is something of an Easter Egg hunt though.

    Potentate's Retreat <3
Its not as "big" as some other houses so i dont have to lock out anything (i still need more slots tho), there is rly nice outdoor space too. I just couldnt say no to this house.

Second place would be Hall of the Lunar Champion. If only each room could have its own furnishing limit...

For customisable grandeur, I'd actually vote for Thieves Oasis. Not the houses, the ruins outside. But it takes a lot of work.

Number One for me is Alinor Crest. Why? Because:
    • Big enough to feel fancy but small enough to not feel empty
    • Great location - you can port to it & zip to the wayshrine or crafting area in no time; quest dailies are also close
    • Good layout for player customization
    • Alinor aesthetic is one of the prettiest in the game tbh
    • Good view of the city
    • Reasonably priced (in both Crowns AND gold)
    • Available all the time, not some 'limited time exclusive' nonsense that gates new players

And here is where I'd mention Tel Galen...

    My top picks would be:

Stone Eagle Aerie - small Dwemer house with lovely outside terrace and spectacular views

Thieves Oasis - I can’t describe just what I like about this house, maybe the two separate buildings give me more ideas for decorating, plus the waterfall and outside Redguard ruins are quite awe inspiring

Potentates Retreat - the outside terrace wowed me first and once I figured out what to do with the dark domed area inside it turned from ugly duckling inside to beautiful swan

Earthtear Cavern - colorful sunrises and sunsets inside this home, my first notable house

Varlaisvea Ayleid Ruin - I love this property but have been slow to get it decorated, still needs work

It is hard to pick one, these are all very unique which is why I like them.

    Snugpod. Location, location, location.

Snugpod for undaunted enclave, the Rimmen room for being closest to a wayshrine, and Mournhold room for landing next to a merchant. Don't care about the inside, only where the doors are.

I really like my Sweewater Cascades. The only thing I didn't like is that the Khajiiti side of it uses the hideous architecture of Southern Elsweyr but if you look at Tamriel map, the house is quite far from the southern province.

If ZOS could just restyle it to be more like Northern Elsweyr...

Sleek creek. Hands down. Moved there - 330k? - and never looked back. Fantastic location, lots of space, 400 furnishing cap. The inside of the house itself isn't that big but it comes with an enormous balcony and then, as its on stilts, you effectively have another 3/ 4 "rooms." I have mine set up with a bedroom, 3 seating areas - one indoor, one covered and one outdoor - a kitchen, a dining area and workshop. Plus ofc you have the yard.

Snugpod because it's in a TREE!

Also: Close to everything (literally everything). Lots of slots for its smaller size. First thing my wood elf sees when she steps out of her TREE house is her precious mare waiting at the stable. :)

Just as a follow-up, is there still a discount on Earthtear Cavern or was that a couple of days thing?

In either event, it's a really nice, expansive place but normally expensive.

The only use I'd have for Earthtear Cavern, Coldharbor Surreal Estate, or Doomchar Plateau is to have a place to arrange all my crafting station sets in about the same place. I was doing that with Pariah's Pinnacle for a while. But when I moved to Pantherfang Chapel, I decided to put the sets that I used most often in the Fort and tuck all the others in out of the way spots, where visitors would have to explore to find them.

Thieves' Oasis has a spectacular "courtyard," with lots of verticality. The house isn't a match for it though.

Lakemire Xanmeer Manor. It's the most amazing looking, imo. I really wish they'd add a Morrowind house along the same lines of fantastic color, space, and water access. One of the things I miss most about the original Morrowind was how alien the world felt. ESO feels very plain and vanilla outside of a few of the newer districts so it would be great to have more player homes that accentuated some of the more foreign cultures.

ETA: That said, the home that's most home-like to me atm is still Sleek Creek. I absolutely love the outdoor space of that home although I could care less about the actual inside or home part.

    My primary homes are:

Sleek Creek for Thieves Den access (also designed as a khajiit character's home)
Alinor Crest Townhouse as a homebase for chests (designed as an actual primary home/homebase/center-of-operations for all characters), crafting writs access, and other necessities access (Alinor has almost everything!)
Snugpod for Undaunted access (designed as a contemplation pool)
Sugar Bowl Suite for wayshrine access (designed as a skooma den)

I have GoHome addon and have hotkeyed all these.

The rest are for homes for my characters or other themed stories/designs. They are all special in their own way aesthetic/lore-wise, but are not as vital due to lack of access perks.

The most beautiful notable homes for crowns are too big for the item limits so I don't have any of them.

    Matter of taste...

My preferred one is the Antiquarian's Alpine Gallery, that is in and out huge, has water, green, wood/stone walls... All I love. I made out of it a true house (not a gallery as it is intended to be), with bed rooms on 3rd floor, offices on 2nd, paintings on all walls, ... hummm... my home :D

Difficult to narrow-down. I almost have too many favorites to bother trying to mention.

Hunter's Glade and Stone Eagle Aerie are kinda my primaries, functionally as well as creatively, but I also love Wraithhome, Tel Galen, Bastion Sanguinaris...

Grymharth's and Mistveil also see a lot of use. The Antiquarian house is also a fav; I just haven't had time to develop it a great deal yet.

And I have my eye on the new house on the PTS... Seaveil Spire.
That place is gorgeous, and could become one of my primary homes.

Some of the notables are really stunning, especially ones with nice outdoors like Varlaisvea Ayleid Ruins, Earthtear Cavern, Sweetwater Cascades and Colossal Aldmeri Grotto. It's impossible to fully fill out the whole property though, and I'm not a fan of blocking off rooms. They do give you as much room for fully custom builds, so there's that. Being close proximity to a wayshrine can be a deciding factor for me, too, if I'll be using it regularly.

I do think the sweet spot is large homes at 600 (ESO+) item limit such as Hundings Palatial Hall and Alinor Crest Townhouse, as they give the right amount of space to furnish with the limit. They are usually not limited time either (personally sick of those) and you can purchase easily with gold. Then there are the ones with extra features, like Sleek Creek House close to an outlaws refuge, and Hunter's Glade letting you stay in wolf form indefinitely.

Any house that we can earn in-game because I love things we can earn in-game.

Forsaken Stronghold is great for the money - it's a big house and a big yard.

As many have said, Snugpod and Sleek Creek for proximity to services.

And I still love Daggerfall Overlook, the trapdoor leading to my dock and boat is great.
