Important! This is not a farewell post but a word of thanks to the team.

After so many years with ESO and many ups and downs, I would like to thank the entire ESO team. Why? Because I think they are doing a really good job. I know that at this point many of you may get upset and have a different opinion but please read to the end of what I have to say and you will understand better what I mean and maybe you will change your mind!

Some popular MMO game was released last week in NA and EU. As it turns out, for the past week there has been a festival of failures and bugs so embarrassing and serious that the problems I've encountered in almost 8 years with ESO are nothing.

Imagine that every evening after work you have to wait 1-3 hours in line to log on to attention, attention one of the dozen or so servers. Yes, if you don't get along with your friends on which server to play on, you will spend more time in the queue than in the game. Do you remember how in EXCEPTIONAL situations in ESO you could meet with queues? Imagine that kind of everyday life.

But it doesn't stop there! More bugs didn't start appearing until later! Imagine if you bought ESO+. After waiting in line for 2 hours, you log into the game to discover that... ESO+ is inactive because there were connection problems with the store servers! Yes, the only known solution to the problem is? Restarting the game and thus another hour of waiting! In 8 years with ESO I have never had this situation!

And finally the icing on the cake. ESO and optimization. Many times we have complained about the optimization of ESO. So imagine a situation in which the ESO client does not fire up in 10s but in 2-3 minutes (even with ultra-fast SSD and fiber optic connection) and after launching you get the information that you can not enter the game because... servers are overloaded and the client crashes. To try again you have to wait again for 2-3 minutes.

Bearing in mind that the above situations are not hypothetical events but real problems I really look at ESO and the dev team from a different perspective. You guys are great and doing a great job, thanks for being with us!

Say no to Toxic Casuals!
I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

People tend to take things for granted. I agree the eso experience is a very good one. You’d almost think eso was a literal trashcan with how people on the forums talk about it fairly frequently.

Six years and 10,000 hours in ESO and it is still where my elf and I choose to spend our play time.

Though not overly shy about voicing what I hope are constructive suggestions for improvement, I am also grateful for the joy this wonderful game brings me.

I understand what you are saying OP but........you are talking about a completely new game right? Of course it's going to have bugs and teething problems. So did this game when it launched! I was playing GW2 when this came out and from all the feedback and bug reports I was hearing on the GW2 forums about ESO I stayed away, well and truly for years.

I only looked at this game again because I was playing skyrim from a bundle that I had purchased and thought I should check the state of the game again. This was 2 years and a bit ago. Saw the game had good marks finally and was playable, thus I am here.

    Summary:

All new games have bugs and problems, so of course games that are not new anymore are going to be more playable. My suggestion would be to wait a while for that game to sort it out, and any new game for that matter before you try it again or can it for good.

Nope, that game is on the market longer than ESO, it just opened new servers for NA and EU.

ESO’s teething problems involved dropping Vet 1 recipes with the level 1 recipes. :D And a number of broken quests.

I think the appreciation thread should be more to us, as a community.

Thanks and praise to a team 'we never really see' should and probably comes first and foremost from their own company structure and as it goes for comparisons, well...I don't think that's very constructive nor respectful for the other's in the industry (some are starting out, with less too)

How about thanking the people that stayed with you through the 'the problem patches' and the people you possibly might have said to: 'yeah come on take the dlc!', thank those guys !

Eso has its quality points and they have my respect for the frenetic workload of DLC 'sorties', but it also has been neglected in many regards.
    So...50/50 from me.

You know the title development I'm talking about started in 2011, so I don't think those developers are complete rookies. It's not their first title to and still the issues that game faces are far more worse than ESO ever had.

I really appreciate our community it's one of a kind (many times I have fun with random people by just playing emotes), but people who create ESO, story, lore, visuals, soft and hardware solutions, they all are also doing really great job.
