Hew's Bane farming

Anyone know the best way to farm Bahraha's Curse and Syvarra's Scales medium and heavy body pieces? Have tried that world bosses and the delve bosses and they don't drop from there.

As said above, they come exclusively from heist coffers but the coffers are NOT curated. And the loot table seems to be heavily skewed away from the pieces that are exclusive to the heists. I just completed a stretch of 32 straight heists getting just weapons.

I am also pretty sure they only come from perfect heists. So you can't just treat it like a delve and kill everything. You really do have to be built for speed and stealth to consistently get the good reward coffer.

Yep, only pieces in my stickerbook I don't have from overland. I managed to find all the Bahrara's in traders for "reasonable" prices but that Syvarra is stupid expensive.

ZOS should consider giving these another drop source. It's a pretty hefty outlier compared to every other overland set.

there are a few sets that have similar issues to this from overland, oddly most of them are all "mixed size" sets

trainee set (from starter zones): 100% uncurated as there are no delves or bosses of any kind in starter zones, this set basically only comes from treasure chests (not too expensive to buy though because its still relatively plentiful)

touch of sithis (from gold coast): this set is partially curated like the hews bane sets (it comes from black sacraments or the shadowy supplier for off-sizes, the curated stuff can drop from gold coast) (this set is also not that expensive because its also a pretty terrible and super niche set)

why they wanted to make these sets so hard to get, i have no idea, most of them arent bad because they arent desired, but bahraha and syvarra are reasonably good sets, so the off sizes get very expensive for them because of the rarity

Trainee was one of the first sets that I ran around to traders and gobbled up to fill my stickerbook. I wanted it for PVP, and even though there were a lot of pieces, I think the most I paid for one was like 3-5k. A little later, I started going around to traders a few times a week and buying anything that was not in my book and less than about 3.5k. That process got me all of Sithis (it also got me every armor and jewelry piece outside of hews bane).

At that point, there were on average about 10 weapons I didnt have from each overland zone so I started farming bosses. Really didnt take all that long too be honest. Last one on my list was Hews Bane, well, these are the massive outliers. I was able to find all the Bahrara armor pieces I was missing for sub 10k once I realized they didnt drop, no such luck with Syvarra. Syvarra is far and away the biggest outlier. I have deep pockets, but I aint dropping 7-8 figures for a set I will probably never use.

That doesn't sound like the experience that anyone else has had. I have also famed Bahraha's and Syvarra's a lot in the past. I've only ever seen Bahraha's weapons, shield, jewels and light armor in chests. The medium and heavy have always been sourced from the heists or story quest rewards. Syvarra's will drop weapons, shield, jewels and medium armor from overland chests.

If you're finding medium or heavy Bahraha's or light or heavy Syvarra's in overland chests, please provide a screenshot as many people would be quite interested in knowing they fully drop in overland.

Story quests also give off weight pieces. Do these on alts.

Also, hesits are shareable and doable in group.

You may be the only player in the game I've heard who's gotten an off-weight Bahraha or Syvarra piece from a chest. I have farmed Hew's Bane more than any other zone, I've done all the quests multiple times, I've farmed the World Bosses and I've probably looted over 1000 chests in that zone. I've only ever gotten an off-weight piece from a heist coffer.

yeah trainee has a huge supply and mostly used as filler in some builds so not too bad to get

sithis is a garbage set that i dont know anyone who would use it, even after the change, so supply is also high since its only 1 set that you can get from sacraments/shadowy supplier (which also seems to have more even drop rate than hews bane stuff)

bahraha used to be a bit better before dmg scaled on health, but its also way more common to get from the theives guild quest boxes where syvarra is fairly rare from those

ive still been able to sell off-size bahraha pieces for upwards 25-50k pretty easily even with poor traits (because they are so hard to come by), i also was going to try buying up the last few syvarra pieces i need, but last i checked the cheapest listings for what i was missing was like 700k+ range which is just way too much

i do actually use syvarra on one of my toons, i actually like the proc on it, uptime nearly 100%, in aoe, from dealing any dmg

Total speculation, but is is possible that Bahrahas med/heavy drops in chests but Syvarras light/heavy does not? The reason I say is that the off weight pieces of Bahrahas are significantly cheaper than Syvarras. I dont see the demand for either of these sets being all that high. If anything, I would have guessed more people actually play with Bahrahas. I would wager the biggest driver of demand for either is simply filling the sticker book.

That leads me to believe that for whatever reason, supply of Syvarras is much lower, which would possibly suggest that Bahrahas drops from more places. Again, total speculation.

I'm not likely to ever say anything is impossible, especially in a game receiving constant updates that could change things at any point in time, but it's my experience that there is a 0% chance of heavy or medium Bahraha's Curse armor dropping in chests or curated boss drops.

I was hoping the poster originally stating such would come back with some screenshots to prove me wrong. I'd actually love to be wrong on this one, but I won't be holding my breath.

It's very easy to prove they do drop with screenshots, but it's nearly impossible to prove they don't drop without a lot of data points to go by.

Bahraha drops for story quest coffers in all weights. Each quest contains specific part (i.e. chest, legs), but weight is random. Can be farmed on alts.
Syvarra off weight only drops from heists.

That would explain it. The price difference between off weight pieces of the two sets is too drastic for them to all come from the same place, unless of course, the loot table is wildly skewed (which also may be part of the issue per that other thread).

    Hi there,

I farmed both of these sets. They can be obtained through just about everything you do there. The place is littered with chests that will have pieces and you can get items from the Psijic portals as well. Of course the two bosses will also drop items in which case you can get weapons and jewelry from chests as well. Beware of Captain Virindi however, she can be a handful if your playing solo.

That is completely contrary to what the vast majority of players have seen, documented, or related.

I have yet to see any evidence that Medium or Heavy Bahraha's or Light or Heavy Syvarra's drop from anything other than non-curated coffers. I would be encouraged to see proof of those weights dropping from chests or world bosses.

I typically only have use for the weapons and jewelry which can be easily obtained. As far as specific armor weights then yes, they would need to be obtained through the sources mentioned.

    What is off weight

The weights for that set that don't drop in the overworld, so Medium or Heavy Bahraha's or Light or Heavy Syvarra's, since the first drops in light and the second drops in medium in the overworld.

trainee set (from starter zones): 100% uncurated as there are no delves or bosses of any kind in starter zones, this set basically only comes from treasure chests (not too expensive to buy though because its still relatively plentiful)

Since all weights of Trainee drop from sets, it's not hard to find and/or buy from traders. That was actually the first set where I completed the sticker book because I was farming chests for leads in the starter zones to level antiquities on alts.
