Lets have a talk about self-heals ? There is nothing with the healer role. The problem is self-heal as no one should be able to blast through 4 man contens without a healer - no one!

I want to take a chance here and say ZOS may not agree with you.

Should the case be that you are a healer main. ZOS have givem you the tools to change CP points and gear.

So ? What is this post really about ?

    Cheers

Well I can and it should stay that way. Leave my self heals alone, I enjoy my solo play tyvm.

Fair. We all solo at some point and Im not after your solo heal. What IM after is, when some people want to nerf a role to gain a upperhand for their own playstyle.

It shouldn´t be possible to go in 3 dds in four man content. Something is wrong here.. There is nothing wrong being a solo player doing solo content.

    Sheers

Why shouldn't it be possible? You kill solo playstyle and healer-dps hybrid playstyle in favor of forcing everyone to do full heal playstyle when you force everyone to bring a full support heal. How can you not see that as nerfing just to give your preferred playstyle a massive upperhand?

Currently you can do all the dungeon content with a full heal, a hybrid, or 3 dps. How is being able to complete the content with all three methods of healing not the ideal? Because it doesn't force people to bring your build into dungeons?

Make it to where weapon/spell damage does not benefit healing (Which would make sense) and only have it where healing is only affected by Max Stamina/Health/Magicka.

This would fix alot of self healing in the game. Would force DPS to choose between Weapon/Spell damage or Max Stats. So you wouldn't have DPS just stacking Weapon/Spell damage and casting massive heals.

I have high hopes for the next PTR updates which will have the last round of balancing for U33. If they don't do anything to healing, U33 will be a disaster for PvP.

And I can already predict sweeping nerfs for U34 if these changes to healing go live. And we know how it works: if they buff something in one update, they overnerf it in the next.

    Just a reminder:

I've been keeping a list. Since I first started playing ESO at launch (early access on March 30, 2014), there have been more than four dozen nerfs to my Templar healers! (Like the 3 nerfs to "Breath of Life" as just one example).

I think the original design team liked healers; but since launch, healers have been nerf'd and nerf'd and nerf'd again. And now you advocate for more nerfs! Arggggggh! Quite the opposite: We need to restore healer-abilities to what they were when the game first launched. Perhaps what we need to do is . . . reduce self-healing abilities of dps instead.

IMO, what should be done is have healing scale off of ONLY max stats, similar to how pet damage used to be, and have damage scale ONLY with the "damage" stat. DPS don't build for max stats, they build to maximize damage, crit chance, and crit damage. Healers should be encouraged to build for max stats/recovery. If they do this, healers and DPS are separated enough that healers can't be squeezed out in most content by a DPS rolling with a few self-heals.

No one is saying nerf healing, just separate it from SD/WD so that people actually have to take their other stats into consideration when building for more healing. Not like now when DDs can just build for straight damage and get an insane healing tool tip for free because of it. If you do that then healers building for more sustain, and not damage, will benefit with greater healing tool tips because their max stat pools will be larger. Or have an entirely different stat that players will have to build for in order to get better healing. Therefore healers will benefit from the separation of healing from damage, and nothing is nerfed you just have to build for it.

Reducing healers to purely healing, instead of supporting the group with buffs, debuffs, and additional damage, is a bad idea. ESO healers are support characters, not healbots.

Errr... many people can go one tankhealerdd in four-man content (normal dungeons, for instance).

And there's nothing wrong with that. Some content just isn't for you any more. If you can solo a normal dungeon, there is absolutely no way of forcing you to take additional players with you - because you literally don't need them. And that's fine. You've outgrown that kind of content, and should move on. Or do nFG1 for whatever reason and be aware that you don't actually need any of the other players, regardless their roles.

I could see an increase in the « increase healing done/received » stats and a decrease in the scaling of healing abilities with spell power/weapon power to make healers more useful and self healing dps less reliable.
