It is a small thing; but, I suspect the amusement is partially to point out that its nothing more than Elder Scrolls game flavor.
While yes, the other DPS should be rezzing when possible, to automatically assume anyone who dies did something "wrong" and no longer deserves healing is itself kind of a toxic mindset. Accidents happen, lag and high ping happen, moments of freezing and locking up happen, momentarily being districted by irl happens.Why are people assuming this is used by healers? Surviving DPS should be rezing the fallen while the healer keeps them alive. The healer doesn't have time to be messing with your corpse. Obviously you did something wrong and no longer deserve the healers attention.
I would be tempted to send an empty soul gem but would probably just ignore the message.
