That's not what Rich said LOL. He said that some of the very deep aspects of the code base are outdated and inefficient, and were built on assumptions that are no longer true. They can be corrected, but it will be a slow process with a lot of testing and care before live implementation so that the end result is more efficient math by the database. They aren't going to change gameplay, just how the server maths from point a to point b (as currently it routes through 7 on the way). To oversimplify.

Yeah this is what he meant

This would be pretty nice. I have a chest full of clothing items I'd like to use but don't because they require an armor slot. Also disagree with the ugly part. A huge percentage of NPCs wear those. We have to look at them while questing anyway. If they are so terrible, then NPCs would be an eyesore. They're not. They actually look like sober common folk, unlike player characters that so often look like..... a glitter bomb went off on their face and they just rolled with it.

Besides, you want to talk about ugly? Who has ever asked to be dressed in rags? We have those. But we can't have regular clothes? I don't see why.

On XBOX, I collected pretty much one of every clothing style I came across - specifically saving unique items that you got in the various tutorials, for instance.

Can’t remember the exact item name, but I’d love for the Morrowind Pirate orig tutorial jerkin to be available now that I am on PC, among others.

If they're in the outfit system, they don't take up inventory space.

If they don't take up inventory (bank) space, your inventory gets presumably less clogged.

If your inventory gets less clogged, you are less likely to require ESO+ for expanded bank space to function.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.

I would love the normal civilian clothes to add to the motifs, I don't see good reason why they won't add it. I can look like rainbow glittering super shiny warrior but not as a simple farmer? it's just silly.

They're part of the aesthetic of ESO. And are one of the things that gives ESO characters their distinct silhoutte.

It's the equivalent to World of Warcraft's pauldrons, DC Animated TV shows' calves.

Except there's a few chest motifs that don't have flaps or hip guards so I don't accept that reasoning as valid. If they're willing to make an exception on some styles then they should be willing to make an exception on all styles
Devs want us to experience and enjoy the things they make.

Then they should have come up with something better. I'm sure there's people who enjoy that design choice but whenever there's a thread that pops up complaining about outfits the three complaints that are consistently brought up are "shoulder pieces" "flaps" and "leg guards"

The best thing they could've have done when designing their "aesthetic" would have been making the crotch flaps an extension of belts rather than chest pieces, with a few pieces that don't feature a flap.

That way zos would get to make as many fugly flaps as they want while ever player would get to hide those fugly flaps on otherwise cool looking armor

Plus they should make the hide shoulders toggle, which is already integrated into the game, accessible to players.
