What do you like the most about eso?

Personaly i like that there's lots of (voiced) quests, and a bit of stealth gameplay on them.
Some of the quests are really funny like the monkey on alik'r , the guy from rivenspire that hates shoes because wearing shoes isn't manly, the skeleton and the dog from alik'r, stibbons and lady laurent, that guy you want to recruit for an army and need to help him with love.
I also enjoy somewhat the setting, because it gives me lord of the rings vibes, and some of the world bosses are amazing.
Delves are alright for me, some are awesome :)

however there's some things i do wish existed in the game like lower face masks, bandanas...

Happy holidays.

The reason I love this game is because there is just so much stuff to do. I like to farm for mats to craft furniture or sell the materials, I like to fish in Summerset to get those bottles with motifs in them, I like to do the achievements, find all the recipes and thieving. I'm mostly a solo player so I also like doing the delves and public dungeons also the dailies..so many dailies.

There are many unique things about eso that can't be found in other games especially on console. The number of ways you can play, it's more customizable than most console games, but now classes seem to be too similar and with gear being changed to accommodate both spell and weapon instead of one or the other opens the door for more interesting builds, but I see too many making the same cookie cutter builds still.
The fact you can play solo or group content is nice. Granted I started playing mmo's when solo play wasn't accepted, so wanting everything to be accessible to solo players is frustrating.
I like you can chose what you'd like to do on any given day: farm for mats, dungeons w/friends or through group finder, trials, pvp, you can make gear/furniture and sell it...lots to do depending on your mood and the state of the game for that given day.
I loved Skyrim and that eso has a number of things that take you back to Skyrim but eso is also it's own game with it's own identity.
Are there issues yes, but I as a console player it's the best we've got for now.

My favorite thing about ESO is the character customization and motif system, hands down. There's so much available that allows you to create a character that doesn't look like anyone else walking around in the world, from a unique face to a totally new outfit composed of different motif parts. I've been playing for at least 3 years now and I haven't stopped going "wow" when I see someone who has come up with a new and unique combination of motifs. (I only wish that they would make outfit slots account wide and increase the amount of slots I'm allowed to have...I have certain characters that I absolutely love making outfits for and don't want to overwrite old outfits! Pretty sure you could give me 50 outfit slots and it wouldn't be enough to satisfy my outfit addiction XD )

The housing system is right up there along side character customization and the outfit system when it comes to my favorite things, because its an extension of who my characters are in the world. Its an opportunity to express their style, their interests, and their hobbies outside of battle. I love showing all the little things that go "unspoken" about a characters personality through the way they leave a book on the table, or what makes them comfortable. I really like building scenes that look like a character has just gotten up in the middle of something.

I also love the completely voiced quest dialogue, along with many of the NPC's in the world.

Then there's Fennorian, whom I adore. By far my favorite NPC in the entire game. Oddly enough, one of my other favorite characters from Final Fantasy- Prompto Argentum, was also voiced by the same actor. I had been following his work for years and only later discovered that he had voiced Fenn during the Twitch interview with him. The odd little coincidence and connection between my favorite games only made me love Fenn all the more.

Overall, its the immense creative freedom ESO has to offer that really makes me love the game and will keep me playing for many years to come.

I love that we can wander around almost all of Tamriel, and that there is such variety between the zones.

I love that there is so much to do in the game that we can "live" in it day after day, either doing different things each day, or establishing a regular routine of "work" to earn gold and other currencies, followed by "playtime" for entertainment.

I've never been deeply into TES lore like a lot of players, but I've been trying to get better about reading the in-game books and letters, especially the quest-related ones, and I'm definitely becoming more appreciative of the lore in general, and all of the thought that's gone into designing each zone's storyline.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

    A huge world ever expanding
Many things to do (or not to do, ones' choice)
In my experience, a rather good players' population
    The combat system
Reliable implementation (do not be surprised. I've played many MMOs for years, and only some top AAA ones, like FFXIV, are on a par IMO).

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

I came from Guildwars 2 and before that other MMOS. The main draw card for me here is the exploring. See in Guildwars 2 you couldn't really enter and explore buildings. There were very few interior places at all really, mainly only dungeons. So the exploring here of all the small towns and the buildings in them is awesome for me.

Then you add to that the loot/steal system. It expands the exploring more, sure you get pretty much the same things from those containers (depending if you are free looting or stealing), but it still adds a little more to that exploring/looting system. This was VERY lacking in Guildwars 2. The looting system in general is just better here. You could be a master thief and steal from houses/people for rare furnishings or you could run around maps/delves all day looting chests to collect all the different paintings. You can do daily quests to hunt the rare furnishing plans as well as container looting again for them. So many different options.

The next main thing for me is the Housing system. I currently own 59 houses (thanks to getting my Doomchar house last night :)) and plan on furnishing them all with specific themes or what not.

There's other things too like the minigames:

Antiquities - of course I would love this because it adds to the furnishing/housing system.
Lockpicking - lets not overlook this, it is a minigame! Unless you force pick it every time like I usually do on my main lol....

That's about it for minigames off the top of my head. No fishing is not one, I wish it was but it's not. It's just click, wait for rod to move and click again. Ignore the vibrating when fishing as that will only make you miss the catch!

There is more to the game that I like obviously, but I am sure others will touch on those. :p

So many different things to do, love the mixture of all.
No aspect is overweighing, you can do whatever you want.

Love the graphics and the landscapes and some of the delves and dungeons are really really awesome.
I love exploring everything and stealth and stealing and all that. There are so many beautiful and interesting spots and views out there.

Doing raids, dungeons, world bosses. Flexibility of character skills and gear, your choice.
So many story quests, funny quests or tragic ones. Great voice acting. Learning about the people and background story of the world. Housing is great and flexible and furniture crafting really fun.
Pvp not my thing but I love stealthing through imperial city.
Antiquities, even more incentive for exploring. Endeavours.

With few reshades and better Global Illumination this game looks gorgeous compared with other mmos.
Funny is that if you add Global Illumination and Marty McFlys Raytracing to ESO, it does not get much of FPS hit while other games do, it was not the case a year ago, not sure what Zenimax did or added but it allows them to actually add raytracing to this game if they want.

Too many things to mention, but if I start with what I miss in other MMO's that might help.

Combat - It's the right blend of slotted skills and rotation, but with action. I'm not just stood there popping skills, I have to move, I have to dodge. There's great fight mechanics that make use of the arena/terrain/environment. I like that. I miss that in other games.

Skills - Great depth of customisation, not overly complex but not too shallow either. There's plenty of skills,w ith enough similar/duplicate skills that work with different sets of passives. I'm not boxed in to a set of specific skills. I can be creative with my builds. I can make a DPS monster with whatever's meta, but i can also make unoptimised builds that have wacky mechanics, are just a bit silly and are fun to play whilst still being able to play through content. I'm, not punished for being creative - even on unoptimised builds. If I want Grothdar, Venom and Darkness on a character for fiery poison murdercrows, even if the DPS is lower than a meta, I can still smash content whilst popping silly AOE :P

Questing- I love that it's voiced. Wall of text in other games tends to mean that I'll skip through it and I don't really enjoy as much, voice acting helps a lot, keeps me engaged and adds depth. I love the Augur of the Obscure! I like that even though mechanically speaking there's only a set number of ways to interact, kill, carry, trade, use, move to, dialogue responses and condtional checks - I like that in spite of this there's a lot of creative and fun quests out there.

Social - I wipe with my guildies, I win with my guidlies, I body throw with my guildies, I dance with my guildies. The community is far less toxic than I've experienced elsewhere. I have a lovely guild with plenty of content to wipe on with them :P

Environment - it's still pretty. Blackreach is one of my favourite areas.

I've recently returned to ESO around a month or two ago. Prior to that I was in the Betas and stuck around for a while after launch. I've dipped in and out for the odd fews every now and again over the years and from where it was at launch to now, it's developed very well.

It's a huge boon for me at the moment. I work for a medical regulator. I'm stuck working from home, my country has restrictions. It's very isolating and in my job role, we're not winning at the moment. Things are hard.

Being able to log in to ESO, do things I can win at with people I enjoy being around has done wonders for my sanity.

    Kudos ^^

The gear cap staying the same, not having to regrind your sets from scratch every expansion.
