Quit putting outfits and skins in the apex tier - the price creep is getting outrageous

What do you mean price creep?
They just decided to up the cost.

Price creep is when companies increase prices for goods and services over time, just to get buyers used to higher prices. It's different than sudden increases, which are called price hikes.

    All legal.

While customer satisfaction may be related to legality, customer satisfaction is not dependent on it. Many customers may choose to do business elsewhere if they are unsatisfied with the product or find the cost unsatisfactory depsite it being a legal product.

Happened last season with the jester outfit. Will happen again next season. It's already hard enough to just get a mount from that tier, now we have multiple items in it that used to be solidly in the legendary tier.

Its bad enough they're behind horrible RNG to begin with.

I would just like to see them add nice apex type mounts for crowns once in awhile. I guarantee they would make more money if people knew what they were getting.

Zos loses money with me. The last crates I bought was way back when summerset launched. Got the psijic sench with the first batch, but will never do it again.

If I could buy a mount or pet I really wanted, I would throw money at them. Their loss I guess.

Totally disagree. You are used to the idea that mounts are an apex reward, although there is no real reason for that. Why can't an award winning apex be costume or skin? Why? Most of the players are pve, who use mounts very rarely. And why are they needed in pve? Players always wear a skin or costume.
All in all ... I don't see any good reason why an awesome suit or skin can't be an apex reward. It might be better than another mount retexture. It looks like you just want these costumes, but they are too expensive for you.

Skins being an apex reward is hardly a new thing. They did that with the Flame Atronach crates way back in 2017, where the Infernal Epidermis skin was an Apex level reward. Now, I am not particularly keen on that either, but I generally don't like Apex mounts, and I am much more likely to occasionally use a skin or a costume, so I accept it.

    Exactly. Feel the same.

Do not like crown crates, so do not buy them. It’s gambling & should not be encouraged, however which way they try to spin it.

But if the mounts etc were in the store, would buy them.

I bought the first (green) spriggan polymorph for 400 or 500 gems. A female that uses male dance emotes, a showstopper.
I do not accept this kind of quality control and am done with wasting hard earned gold to buy crates for gem collection for high price items.

Maybe ZOS should learn from Aldi, goods with a high quality control for low prices. That sells much better than expensive bugged items (and I am saying this even as someone with an upper income level in an leading industrial nation, how much worse must it be for others).

I liked the GRIM personality as it was the halloween season etc. Purchased 15 *** boxes. Got mounts, pets, skins, emotes but not the damn personality. I don't feel like spending that much ever again unless I know for sure I'm picking it. I hate lootboxes.

The crown store isn't 'fun' any more guys... *looks out into the expanse*
I think it was intended to be 'fun'..because that's what cosmetics are.
When something is unobtainable...(skin at 400 crown gems), it just becomes secondary I suppose.

I was excited to get the costume, thinking it was going to be for crowns and not in a loot box. I didn't automatically lose interest when I saw it was in a loot box, but I did lose interest when I noticed the tier it was on.

I also noticed they "upgraded" the new instrument to be a higher tier than what the new instruments were in the Bandaari crates.

If the skin had been legendary, I would have probably got it with seals. Being so expensive, will never buy it. Meanwhile, I sit on a pile of ESO+ crowns with nothing to spend them on, and zero desire to spend any more in this game. Everything is locked behind gambling (paying real money for a chance of getting the desired product? No thank you!), or hasn´t been available in the store for years. So much for cosmetics in a game with such a focus on customization... In SWTOR you can at least buy and sell their store stuff via the global trader. Did you start playing this year, but want a discontinued item from release? You got it, for a flat price. Pay and get it, direct and simple. Wish this game was the same.

Nah I made a video on this a year ago and I am not lucky enough to even bother trying to get what I want.

Radiants are dropped at a 0.25% rate. If you are looking for a particular radiant you have 0.06% - 0.10% chance.

Those odds are cursed. Why even bother. Check out the video to see how you'll be wasting your money/crowns/gold if you even bother trying.

I know people want them. I used to buy 2 x 5k boxes of crates every cycle. I am much happier since I stopped that practice. I am done with crates, and have been for a while. We as players have the power to end RNG boxes, but sadly, we wont. I have enough gems for a mount, havent seen an apex that even remotely appeals to me.

Only care about skins that I have to earn.

Only Mounts I need are my Senche Tiger, and a few Bears I already have (Fire, Frost, Lightening).

Only Pet I need is Raisins (wouldnt mind a lightening bear pet, not sure it exists, have fire, frost).

    Simply not true.

I'd be totally willing to spend 5-6k seals on a very pretty costume. Same goes for skins. Over 10k however? Nope. It's about reasonable prices, not about wanting stuff for free.

I noticed that! Totally bogus. I feel like ZOS was creating some good will by making everything obtainable for Gems and then endeavors and bringing back more crate seasons (I know these changes didn’t please everyone and naturally the goal is to make money buy still, I am I think many others felt these were good moves). Now that is being eroded by making new things cost more without them being any better. :/

Like those spriggan polymorphs — at that Gem price I’d expect a real spriggan with a trunk and roots and unique animations instead of this weird two-legged thing. Now is this Play Qanon emote — will it let you choose songs or even have the option to play something yourself (like GW2 instruments) or anything else to justify the jump in price? I highly doubt it.

IDK, I look at it like this:
If I am paying 400 crowns for 1 crate. The minimal expectation is I get 4 instances of crown poisons (or something else in that lower tier). Anything beyond that is a bonus. At a minimum, I am paying 400 crowns for 4 lower tier items. So, before purchasing just ask yourself, are you cool with paying 400 crowns for 4 lower tier items? It's a guaranteed reward, you will always, at a minimum, get one of these items. You may get more, but you will always get your crowns worth of items.

    True gambling would be:
I pay 400 crowns, with a chance of getting absolutely nothing in return. I may get a crown poison, I may get a mount, or I may get nothing.

In the second scenario, there is not a tangible value of return on my crowns. I am either getting something or I am getting nothing. In the first scenario (and the one true to how crates work), I have a minimum value I am purchasing items at.

There is a failure to grasp the difference between a need and a want, I think. To differentiate betwen an actual necessity and something that you desire. This game would be completely playable without any of the cosmetics, and even any mount beyond the most basic stable horses.
You know ESO's new tag line "Play your way". It is not up to you how I determine to play this game. YOU might find cosmetics unnecessary to play the game, I do not. If there were no cosmetics, no housing, I would not be here. For me, to play ESO, these cosmetic items are 100% necessary for me to play the game.

Can the game be played without cosmetics, absolutely...but that is not what we are discussing here. What we are discussing is my reply to this response:
"The best things about these items: Not necessary in the least to successfully play the game."

YOU may not need cosmetics to play ESO, I do. As I already stated, if there were no outfits, no housing, no cool mounts, I would not be playing. THESE are the things that draw me to ESO, not the combat (which I find stale and boring), not the PVP (which I find stale and boring), not the instances. I am here for housing, for decorating, and for character customization. These aspects are FUNDAMENTAL for my enjoyment in this game.
    Troodon80 wrote: »
The only way that the crown store could be viewed as a necessity is from ZOS's end. At that point, we're talking purely economics. They have multiple streams of revenue. Without revenue, there's a risk to the survival of the business. ZOS needs to make money. You don't need to play this game, let alone buy stuff from the crown store. You want to buy stuff. You do not need to. See the difference?
You are not the one to determine what is a need a want when it comes to any players enjoyment of the game. I don't need to play ESO, no one does. But in playing ESO, I DO NEED the things I previously listed, else I would not be spending the massive amount of money I spend on this game.
    Troodon80 wrote: »
From a client/customer perspective, nothing in the crown store is necessary. Even the game itself as entertainment isn't a "necessity."

And from a universal perspective, life is not necessary. "Nothing" is necessary.

Yeah its price gouging, its one thing for mounts or even a pet, but costumes should be legendary tier at the highest. As a person who likes fashion cosmetics, they become too expensive, one hundred is reasonable, four hundred is price gouging. There are people like me that don't want to do the horrible grind for the crown crate extra currency, I don't even farm for that for the most part. I just do gems as its better. So please Zenimax reduce the price make those legendary not apex. I'd rather they remove or nerf the seals system all together then to have a costume that I want to get be four hundred crown gems.

I spent a chunk of my endeavors to grab the chitin armor and speed upgrades for my new toons, but thats all i had Endeavors for, i would’ve had half the endeavors needed for 1 mount

Honestly I'd rather be able to outright purchase skins and costumes. Definitely dislike having to gamble for the chance at gems to buy them (then worrying about not having a lot of gems for future crates lol). I understand there are endeavors but I've been saving those for ages in the hopes of a cool mount I actually *want* as well.

But they really got me last time when I spent gems for the jester personality.. that I ended up not even using. It's the thought of having it -just in case- for me. Ugh.
